I am in Ukraine now. I like it here quite a bit. However, I don't think this is quite the mongering destination it used to be. It is also getting unsafe. The people here are extremely racist against people who don't look like them. I blend in, but those who do not are treated badly. There have been many assaults in recent weeks against foreigners visiting Ukraine. As the political situation deteriorates, I imagine this will only get worse.

I am not a serious monger, but I did have a chance to visit with an apartment girl in Kiev. It was a nice experience, but she was only average looking and I spent about $150 for 1.5 hours. I have a couple of other friends here who have had similar experiences. Don't get me wrong, she was petite and the sex was good. The sex was better and cheaper and the girls were much hotter in Bangkok.

There are very hot girls in certain parts of Kiev, but to be honest, those girls are spoken for. There are more Range Rovers per capita in Kiev than in Chicago. The statics suggesting this place is poor are false. There is a huge black market here and there are a ton of rich guys.

I honestly think the sex scene in the FKK clubs in Germany is better for the average monger.

Also, there is absolutely zero value to being a middle class American. Unless you are willing to stay at the most expensive hotel in town, purchase a table at the best club in town, score drugs, and shell out $200/500 per night for the girl, you will not be achieving much with the 9's-10's you fantasize about and see on model sites and web porn videos.

You can get that girl much cheaper and easier in Germany at a high end brothel.

Also, the language barrier is fairly high. If you don't speak fluent Russian you will not be able to find a hot girlfriend in Kiev. You may find a decent middle-aged girl, but the quality is not that much higher than in the US or western Europe. Also, most single girls over 25 in Ukraine are high-mileage, and many are retired prostitutes. If you go to Lviv, you must speak Ukrainian (not Russian) to be able to connect with girls there. Otherwise, you are limited to about 5-10% of the population who are fluent in English. The monger scene in Lviv is nonexistent. The town is beautiful and worth a visit with your wife.

Prague is still very good. Germany has some of the best mongering in the world. Also, Bangkok is one of the best cities I've ever been to for pro and non-pro action. I've had great experiences in Colombia and have also heard great things about Rio. Argentina was better when Madahos was open.

If you are fluent in Russian and have a very large wad of cash to blow, Kiev may be your paradise. Otherwise, you are going to come here and window shop some amazing girls on the street, and then overpay for sex with an average high-mile hooker in a dirty apartment, or find a retired prostitute to date and financially support.

If you bring in $15-20 k per month, have the energy to chase girls, and are independent from work, I recommend you take Russian lessons for the next 6 months and head directly to Kiev for the full length of your visa. Otherwise your time is much better spent elsewhere.

I think the guys who linger in Kiev are living in a fantasy zone where they see extremely hot girls around town and think if they "hang around the hoop" long enough one will fall into their lap. If they study Russian or Ukrainian and become fluent, and have very good income, this would become a reality. But most of the foreign mongers I've met are not of that ilk, and they aren't getting laid by 9-10's in Ukraine.

If you are happy paying $100+ for 7-8 quality girls with petite bodies and high mileage and are coming for a short period of time, this place is fine. Just don't get your hopes up. The super-hot photos on the web are all fake.

In my case, Rio is worth it, the dances are worth it, but there are a number of members on this forum that will disagree and some have good arguments against it. The downside is you pay much more for women at places like Rio. On the upside it can save a lot of time, it allows you to quickly scope out a number of attractive women, most of whom will leave with you. The private dances are hands on. In most cases they are auditions, where the woman is attempting to convince you that you should pick her over someone else, while you are trying to make a decision. In rare cases, all you get is a private dance; the woman does not have sex with customers. In three years, I've had 4 women at Rio turn me down; three because they did not leave with customers at all and the forth because I did not speak Ukrainian / Russian. I'm not an expert on Kiev and I'm only slowly understanding the scene and language; I don't have a lot of free time and I don't mind the bar fine. So, Rio makes a lot of sense for me. Of the strip clubs I've been to in Kiev, it's been the most efficient.

In my experience there are other well-advertised clubs, but the cost of entrance is often higher, the dances are more expensive, the drinks are more expensive, it's generally darker and the ratio of women who are just dancing is higher. This can add a lot of 'discovery' cost that I was on about earlier. Finding a willing partner takes longer, costs more.

Update on my plans. I will be leaving for Kiev on the 21st. Will stay overnight in Frankfurt and hit FKK Oase for a night. Will get to Kiev on the 23rd and stay till the 31st. I've made some plans with a couple of Mamba girls, one of them recommended here, and I'm contacting a few others. If none workout then off to Rio and other apartments. My head / half of face got busted early Thursday morning! Lot's of blood on my face, shirt and pants. Ended up in an ambulance taking me to a hospital and got many stitches.

This never happens before.

Many friends come there in summer, never seen nothing. I only see last year some nazi beating a Turkish. I agree the black man especially are not well seen in Kiev, but it's minority.

The rest in my opinion is a bit of frustration from somebody who doesn't have a clue about Kiev, probably first time. You paid 150 dollar for an hour and half with an average girl, this speaks a lot about you not knowing the situation.

And considering you've posted twice, I'd recommend building a little credibility first.

Anecdotally I can tell you that Kiev does seem a more dangerous place than in pre-Maidan times. On my last trip I saw a guy getting punched out in an alley just off Kreshatyk at 4 pm on a Saturday afternoon. The trip before that I saw a big fight just outside the entrance to Skybar. It might not be reflective of the actual situation there, but it does feel like the problems with Russia and the economy are resulting in more xenophobia than had been seen previously. But like any big city, there are morons everywhere and you can easily avoid situations where the risk is high by not getting too drunk, walking the streets late alone, wandering into the wrong side of town.

As for Lviv, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to call bullshit there. English speaking girls just aren't as common in Lviv as Kiev. And hooking up with them is definitely more challenging with no Ukrainian / Russian. There are some great clubs there, but unless you have a wingman and decent game, you simply aren't going to get far with non P4 P girls if you haven't done a lot of work before you get there on dating sites.

David, Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time in Kiev, I think you're right in that having Russian as a language skill opens many more doors and provides more opportunities, which is odd considering more girls probably speak english now than at any other time in the last 15 years. For me, Tinder and Badoo both worked incredibly well both for short-term hookups and "dates" but you need to have it on the minute you arrive and really get swiping right on as many elligible candidates as possible. It took at least two days for both apps to "warm up".

That's been my experience at other Kiev strip clubs, although in some cases the sample size is much smaller and the percentage larger. I'd encourage you to try out some of the other strip clubs; many of the clubs have wonderful dancers. You might try a erotic massage as well, I've had mixed results at Relax (Pushkins'ka Str. 31 V, in back of the Premier Palace Hotel, go through the gate, go to the back of the parking area, there's a recessed entrance leading down).
