Old heads know the bar next to El Flow as Sosua Life. Very bare and no activity in the club behind it. DLatinos is the be all and end all every night. Huge bars and dance floor area, but no actual disco on property. Early evening Rumba and El Flow are still good. At 3am EVERYONE (the whole block) goes to After One disco. Enjoy.

However, I have decided you guys are somewhat right, I will now spend 4 days in Cabaret and 3 days (next weekend) in Sosua.

Trying to find a last minute room in Sosua for next weekend is hard tho, NG, Casa Cayena, Casa Valeria all booked up.

Only option seems to be Perla Sosua but read some not so good reviews

What else do you need in life?[/QUOTE]True, I like to think I'm quite aware of my surroundings even anything can happen still. Didn't want to leave sd last time had a great time. The only problem I found with sd is there wasnt much to do during the day except going to the mall and el conde and so on maybe it was just I didn't look hard enough.

Very difficult to arrange anything by remote. Just turn up and ask around. You have mentioned three places out of a possible 20 or so which are chica-friendly and reasonably priced, even if not your first choice.

For what it's worth, when I was visiting the area on holidays over four years I never stayed in Sosua. I always stayed at Field of Dreams and travelled into and out of Sosua some evenings. Not everybody's choice, I agree, but the point I am making is that many of the places way down your list are someone else's preferred choice so they can't be that bad as options. I know sensible and experienced mongers who prefer Seabreeze, Residencial, D'Piero, Voramar, Sosua Suites, Mary Rose, Europa, Terra Linda, or any one of a whole string of other places. Everyone has their own favorite for their own good reasons, but if you are new to Sosua you cannot have a favorite yet so don't sweat it. You won't be sleeping on the street.

Either FOD or hotel voramar leaning towards FOD now, as it seems more convenient and you can decide to stay in or go to sosua.

How far and how much to Sosua from fod?

I remember when last in sosua coming out of classicos at 3 am with a chica there was no shortage of cab drivers aggressively trying to get my business, at that time I already had a hired private taxi waiting for me outside, payed 35 US for the round trip

And per your report, still closed. So basically the only place to dance is the After One club, that does not start up until about 3 am. I'm sure when Deep gets there, he will sort it all out for us confused individuals.

They have these two bedroom rooms that have huge kingsized bed tht are high off the ground. Hell, during the week they give away free lunch. You can't beat that. I also like that it is one of the few small hotels that I can reserve and book my room online, before I get to town. Just go to their website [url]http://www.perladesosua.com[/url]

Firstly, apologies, as I somehow got the idea this was your first visit to the area. Obviously not.

I was not actually recommending you stay at FoD. I am sure you would find somewhere suitable in Sosua (assuming you will arrive during daylight hours and have time to ask around). I just mentioned it as an example of different strokes for different folks. We all have different priorities when choosing where to stay, For one monger a decent pool might be important, for others, good wifi, or a good restaurant, or airconditioning, or distance to the Strip, and so on.

Staying in FoD and using a private taxi to go to and from to Sosua would not be cost-efficient. You could have an extra chica each day for what you would be spending on taxis. It would be better to book into a more expensive hotel in Sosua, although, as I say, I don't think that will be necessary.

But since you ask, Field of Dreams is about 15 miles from Sosua and 3 miles from the centre of Puerto Plata.

There is public transport running 24/7 along the main road outside FoD to the centre of Sosua. Takes about 25 minutes and costs 45 pesos each way (50 after dark).

Waiting in Sosua for a publico home is safe enough as there are plenty of people about even in the small hours, but if of a nervous disposition you might not fancy the walk from the main road down the driveway to Field of Dreams entrance if late at night. (Better these days than when I used to regularly do it because one of the successive new regimes installed lighting along the entrance drive). So I suggest you tip the driver 50 pesos to divert off his route and drive you to the front gate. Still a lot cheaper than booking a private taxi which will probably cost you 800 pesos one way late at night.

Another option when staying at Field of Dreams in the busy season (now) is that there may be other guests willing to share a cab or guys with rentals who could give you a lift if you chip in for gas.

Sip a cold beer and watch the pussy parade on the beach, best on a Sunday, slower during the week.

Go to Ocean World and swim with Dolphins.

Take a moto concho to the German butcher and get a really good pork loin sandwich.

Have two girls dance naked in your room while you catch up on emails, then takes turns bending them over.
