I learned a long time ago that it's best to get as much information as possible before drawing concrete judgments from only one persons account of events. That being said. There is no doubt that some things Chris mentioned are true. The dog barking could be an issue, the loud music, the limited hot water etc. The dog is not a problem for me. The music isn't either. But the limited hot water is. I have to take a shower before I let a chica get in. My friend in another unit said his water was hot most of the time. The wifi was very bad this trip. I hope Rick gets to resolve that soon. Personally, I wish there was security during the day. The way it is now, anybody can come on the premise without being stopped. This trip, I had a chica I know come directly to my room looking for me. While sitting on the balcony, eyeballing chicas. If I flirt with one walking by, they will and have come inside the gate and up to my door. But then again, perhaps many hotels are open to the public in the day? Of course there are a few that also have security or someone present to see who is coming on the property during the day.

Aside from those inconveniences, I enjoy my stay there. The location alone is what really makes it work for me. On many days, especially when it's raining, I do not even have to go around the corner to the strip. I can sit at Rocky's bar and meet girls walking by all day long. I may give some other places a try down the road.

An acquaintance of mine boots on ground on Sosua has told me that the standard prices for chicas have changed.

The old price structure of 1000 pesos short time and 2000 pesos for long time (amanecida) is no longer easy to obtain.

He has tried the-latin and many other venues and he only found 1500 pesos for 1 hour service, which many times turns to be only one pop. Had to really dig well into the night to find a sole bargain of 2000 pesos a LT.

His wingman suffered for the same price inflation and so some italian guys he finally decided to ask for crosscheking information.

Therefore is that true or just the after superbowl price boom?

Has anyone noticed that no one mentions TLN anymore? Its all ST which I thought was two hours but now appear to be one hour, and LT which I thought was short of TLN but now appear to be just more than two hours. D'Latins now appears to be "Pussy central" which allows the chicas to set the minimum. Deals can be found outside of D'Latins but guys arent looking elsewhere.

I thought by the lack of positive posting that something was happening in Sosua. As the prices increase guys will either lower their standards or stop going to Sosua. The vets won't pay 3000p for what they used to get for 1500p. But the newbie will pay these increased prices because they won't have any knowledge of the good old days and they won't care. Just like some vets have branched out from Sosua and are still getting bargains the old Sosua tricks have also moved on from Sosua and are back home.

Of course you can pay more or less. We dont need to drive up costs thats for sure but are you really looking all night long after you caught a several hundred dollar flight and spent on a hotel for 500 peso or 12.50 in dollars!

In general the value has been decreasing, IMHO, in the sense that even if you pay the same, you are getting less than you did a few years ago. Of course Sosua is still a good time, maybe just less for those that experienced Sosua when GFE was common and the gangs flying in for short stays on Jet Blue were less prevalent. For guys that didn't experience the Old Sosua or places like Rio when Club Help was open, they can't miss what they never had. These are often the guys that see Pasions as a bargain.

I still have a great time in Sosua, but I find myself more attracted to other cities now because I don't go to the DR to listen to the latest hip-hop, as I don't do that even at home. I prefer to be more immersed in the Dominican culture than with a bunch of gringo mongers. Sosua has kind of become too gringo-fied for me and not in a good way. That being said, I still love the beach and talking with many of the expats that live there.

I am going to be in Sosua in a few weeks. I was planning to spend half the amount of time in Sosua and the rest at blackbeards. Instead I decided to cancel my blackbeards reservation as I never expeirnced Sosua for more than a day or two. Anyway I have a room reserved at new garden for the first 4 days of my trip. However since I cancled blackbeards I have not reserved a room for the remainder of my trip yet. Would I be able to walk up to a hotel and get a room? I know during the off season you can usually do that. I just want to be sure I can do it this time of year.

On the ground in Sosua on Thursday night, confirmed Dlatins is the Only place to be.

Place was packed, mongers, weekend millionaires, couple of gringa tourists and of course chicas.

1 I'm attracted mostly to mulattos, light skinned morenas, or gringa looking, and slim, all of which were in short supply but can be found, you just have to make the first move, smile, wave her over, generally chicas do not initiate except for a look, some can be aggresive.

2 TLN was 4k for the better looking. 2 k for st, deals can be had if you take a hit on looks, of course this is subjective and based on your preference.

3 I am at terra Linda, super nice, new garden and all others booked up, tl is pricey but comfortable, nice restaurant.

4 Cabarete do not go for chicas, was there before for kiteboarding, fun but not a good launching pad for sosua, too much distance to get to Sosua, cabarete is bizzaro or reverse sosua, where the old blonde European or aussie women go to run a racket on Dominican men.

Classsicos IS open tonight was told, including upstairs, don't see the point tho, only reason if you're looking for a better dressed chica, which I kinda like so I might go.

Its all business now.

That why I'm glad I went and discovered the Philippines. Its one of the few last mongering places that is all GFE and you get more bang for your buck. You can bang girls for 500-1500 pesos,

Plus I know that it will never become like Brazil, Costa Rica or DR current state that it is in, Because the average American is not going to travel on a 20 Hour Flight. So I'm pretty much retired from Sosua DR, its corny now, Its just not the same anymore.

Is Classicos done being remodeled and opened for business yet? Can anyone please tell me. I will be and Sosua and March.

On the ground in Sosua. Saturday night Dlatins was the still the central spot to be, despite Classicos upstairs being open, seems classicos renovation and closure benefitted Dlatins greatly, no cover to go upstairs at classicos and the place was empty.

Chicas still asking 2k short term. 4k all night. All kinds available, morenas to light skinned mulattas, tall, short, slim and in between. Little room to negotiate early in the night, my strategy was just to first meet them, dance a bit, state a price, then move on, chances are good you will see her again that night and she will accept.

Generally you need to be active in approaching or even waving girls over and speak a little Spanish, you will get what you want as there is at least 5 girls to each guy ratio.

At 3 am everyone piles into afterone nightclub, so if you did not get what you want earlier that is the place to be.

BTW, as stated by others before, do not go to cabarete to monger, cabarete is only for kiteboarding. One night in search of a chica at Ojos club in cab, I actually hooked up with a young beach blonde Aussie babe whom I met earlier kiteboarding. Cabarete is a Bizzaro Reverse Sosua, older Euro and Aussie women running their racket on young Dominican men, who worship them.

If you speak 15 licks of Espanie and are not 400LBS ST can still be had for RD1500 or less, and TLN 2000-2500.

Keep paying RIO prices and these chicas will start asking for $RD5,000.
