Cityheaven is for locals. For inbound tourists, it's Yoasobi. Yes it sucks. The two sites are the same company, both sites point to the same database. If you try to use Cityheaven and can speak japanese, it might work or it might fail because many shops care whether or not you are a local resident. The gaijin tax is really an "inbound tax" in practice. Many shops will ask you, especially in recent years. In the case of Kira Kira, on repeat visits they asked me to pay the gaijin tax since I'm visiting as a tourist. They knew and believed me when I pointed out I was always given local rates in the past. But they put in new rules since then and added a gaijin tax. Since I was a tourist I had to pay it. I have no interest in lying to a shop for discounts, but if that's your thing go ahead. It might or might not work. At most places if you are a foreigner with residency in Japan, you don't have to pay it. It is about money.

Although the main purpose of this is greed, it's true there is also potential extra work and risk they take on with tourists who are more likely to run off. Many shops say guys running off or not following basic rules is the main problem they encounter. Even shops that did NOT have a gaijin tax said this, like hostess clubs and oppai pubs. They will reject Japanese locals too if the vibe doesn't feel right. That's their solution instead of a gaijin tax, especially since once you are in there are still male staff around observing you. About the inbound tax (aka gaijin tax), you could lie or trick them but for me I'd rather go elsewhere. I'm going for a good time and there are options. I never pay extra for oppai pubs, hostess clubs, girls bars, and other shops I mainly frequent anyways. Oppai pubs in particular tend to have heavily discounted happy hour rates or promos through Manzoku or online. For legal reasons they can't advertise full service. Delivering a girl to your room for massage, handjob, blowjob, even anal is all legal. But PIV (penis in vagina) sex can't be advertised. However, the law also allows two people who "know each other" to do what they like for money (i.e. sugaring is legal). So with most DH places you can negotiate that. It is between you and the girl. At high end DH like Elise, it's often included with no negotiation.

I've used my own hotel 90% of the time. I meet the girl outside the front entrance and walk with her to the elevator and to my room. DH is legal, so being discreet is just about good manners. Some girls will show up with a face mask and take it off in the elevator or in your room.

There are pros and cons to using your room or a love hotel. If you are new to the idea, most shops will assist you on that. Normally, locals are supposed to check themselves in and then call the DH shop and tell them the hotel name and room number. Then the girl walks there. But for us foreigners, male staff or even the DH girl might escort us to the front desk and check us in. You pay the cost, it's not a lot (seems like 2200 to 4000 yen these days). Love the wealth of knowledge on this board. I think that I've narrowed my focus based on everything shared here. I'll be in the Shibuya area, so I think that easily getting to a top tier Soapland may be a headache with TAE, THC and Gingira close by. It is just a matter of cost, and as you point out you could save money indirectly. It also makes for a different memorable trip during sightseeing. Thai women have no tabboo about SW or this arrangement, and she knows what you do before / after her is not even her business. It is nice.

35 k Thai Baht is $1100, it is a good rate. You will pay her meals and other expenses too but that's part of the experience and special memory to some. I assume for you too. You're obviously picking a girl you like and already get along with after all. If you are going to partake in other FS fun, maybe it's best not to overlap that part. For example hiring her 10 days for a 12-15 day trip. Then you can TAE on the other days if you choose. All the non-FS light fun can be overlapped or not. But since Tokyo costs more and is for "city stuff", you might end up with just a few days for it to happen. Unless you like city stuff. The food in Tokyo is really good. Just pick what Japan is good at (ex: sushi), it is so easy to win. Do try the uniquely Japanese fast food sometimes (Yoshinoya and Zetteria are a guilty pleasure). Food is so competitive in Tokyo that as long as it is mainstream, it is fantastic value and quality.

I would maybe suggest Shibuya Galaxy because it is cheap and one of a kind, and they are welcoming to foreigners and speak English. There is a strict security check so you don't have a recording device / electronics, otherwise it is wholesome perverted fun. If you don't mind long peaceful walks and are in Tokyo, see Meiji Jingu temple. If more adventurous, do Nara on a weekday as a side-trip from Kyoto. This year will be less crowded, so in combo with that it'll be nice. Not that it will be not crowded, but it will be way better than usual.

On paper Thailand and Tijuana both do naughty bars better than Japan in pricing. But an oppai pub bar like Luxe is a different / unique system still. Since you expressed interest, it's a sign you'll want to try it once for the experience since it is different enough. Kyoto and Nara are the best and most special places for Japan sightseeing, and they're right next to each other. But it sounds like you have a lot of time, so there's many other options. It is just tricky to align with your "brief" mongering time in Tokyo. Obviously, the nature / historical things you can see in Japan you can't get anywhere else. But Tokyo has a lot of cool city stuff. While in Tokyo, take your girl to Teamlabs (there are several). I also mention Meiji Jingu because it is the nature / historical experience combined into one, in the middle of a city. It is one of a kind, like going back in time.
