Hey Foxes, if this is your first trip to Colombia, why not go to Medellin?
Pereira is actualy just a smaller version of Medellin.
Many more options in Medellin ... just a thought.

I'm actually heading to Barranquilla for about a week, meeting up with a chica I met there ... with some side fun while she's working, etc.

two years ago I went to Medellin but I was enough disappointed. I went during the "Fiesta de las flores" and all the people and girls were busy for it.
The first days of August I will reach Colombia again but they are the same days of the "Fiesta de las flores" again. Unlucky!!!
I will have only 12 free days and I think Pereira could be a good alternative.
Do I make a mistaken?

That's understandable.

I'll tell you, I love the peope of Barranquilla, very nice, chicas ... GREAT!

I'm not in love with the climate or the city itself though. For that I really enjoy the Medellin area ... including Pereira, Manizales, etc.

Think I'll have to find me a costena and bring her to the mountains ... :)

I personally think Pereira is boring as hell. It's the things to do and nature activities around Pereira and Manizales that are fun. Of course it's best to have a companion to do these things with. As for the dates you wil lbe there.. that's an issue as well. If you are planning on going and looking for any sort of nightlife or looking for anything to do inside of Pereira... change your dates. If you are planning on going to enjoy fincas, termales, or one of the parque nacionales.. then maybe you are going at a good date.... assuming they are open. Why? My sense is Pereira will be dead during Feria de Flores. It's kind of like being in Barranquilla during Semana Santa. Everyone is in Santa Marta and Cartagena. Barranquilla is a ghost town during Semana Santa. Or you can compare it to Cartagena or Santa Marta during Carnivales. They are dead because everyone is in Barranquilla. My assumption is there will be absolutely nothing to do in Periera or Manizales during Feria de Flores... but that i just my assumption. It might be best to ask someone that lives there. Regardless, 12 days in Periera??? I can spend 36 hours in Pereira before it's time to go. Like I said, there's a lot to do in the surrounding areas, but Periera itself IMO isn't worth any more than a hotel stay on the way to somewhere else. If you do go, make sure to check out los termales de Santa Rosa de Cabal. I do know that the lodging at Hotel Termales is 1/2 price in the month of August (probably because no one goes there as everyone is in Medellin). Would be a great time to go assuming they are open... which they should be as I have a flier from my last visit saying 1/2 in August. Regular price is 120k pesos/person and it's worth it. My friend 60k pesos/person and no one there... paradise. cal lahead to see if thye wil be open... 364-5500 and 364-1322

Uhhhhmm Foxes buddy... that was explained in the General Info thread over the last 24 hours. In fact, I know you read it because you responded to my post where I actually went over what a costena is, what a paisa is, and even in my last paragraph the differences... and then you refuted my remark regarding chicas from Pereira as being "easy." So you've read those posts, what else is there to know? Bango Cheito and others went through this as well, read the posts.

In your opinion have I to consider Medellin is better than Pereira in the "fiesta de las flores"? I don't like the Barranquilla climate, it is too much hot for me. I like the climate of the mountains. In your opinion is it better to reach Medellin or Pereira for fucking in that time?

Foxes, if it were me I'd have a field day in any town if I were there for 12 straight days. Based off your posts, I think you are going to have a very difficult time finding non-pros. You are just analyzing it too much and sound very worried about choosing the "right" place. My sense is this same process of thinking will also be the way you deal with chicas that you meet and you will have a very diffficult time creating a rapport with non-pro chicas. This is just my honest opinion.

How do you solve it? Put names of all the cities in a hat, draw one out, that's where you go, book your flight, stop thinking about the chicas and your trip, get on the plane, arrive, and go with the flow with a smile on your face and a twinkle in your eye. Be courteous and don't try to jump in the sack with anyone on the first date. When you take her out, have the time of your life and treat her like a prinecess and at the end of the night give her a peck on the cheek and tell her you are pretty busy but you'll try to fit her into your schedule in the next few days because you really did have a fabulous time and you think she is a real sweetheart. That's my honest opinion bro.

By the way.... have we been through all this already with where to go and how to act etc. under the name Potoru or am I having a memory lapse?

Have fun on your trip. Being that it's Feria de Flores... that's where I would go.

Termales de Santa Rosa de Cabal is an interesting place, wonderful! But it is 50 Minutes from Pereira center. Do I make a mistake? Can you tell me more about it please? I undestand Santa Rosa de Cabal is too much far from the action.

Folks- I had JAckson erase my "All Around Colombia Reports" on the Santa Marta, Rodadero, and Tayrona areas. I did this mainly becuase I felt the posts weren't related to "sex". Further, I felt I went into a little too much of my personal life/relationship with mi novia.
