Leticia Colombia, Tabatinga Brazil, and Santa Rosa Peru share a common border. When one arrives from Peru from down the Amazon river, a customs officer boards the Transtur boat and checks some of the luggage (he checked mine). Leaving Iquitos on the start of the trip, an immigrations officer boards and does the passport thing. You will need an entry stamp for Peru in order to be present in the country legally. I would go to the Transtur office in Tabatinga and talk to the Peruvian there, Max. He can probably tell you what you need to know. I was in and out of Brasil without a visa and nothing happened....but I had to go to the airport in Leticia and get an entry stamp for Colombia.

When you leave Colombia from Leticia, do you see any official Colombia EMIGRATION? Colombia may give me shit to leave the country, so I am just wondering if going through Leticia would be an option to leave that Hell hole I'm in.

I have rented a 2 bedroom penthouse in pereira from jan' 07 to jan ' 08.

There is a room with bathroom for hire for short periods.

Located in the centre of the city it is very secure and excellent for the Pereira night scene.

Just returned to England for xmas after 10 weeks in Pereira, there are the usual chicas available in the streets and clubs. Prices from 25k (wouldn't touch them with yours!) to 120k but with a little time and effort the non pro scene here is very rewarding. If you have a car you are made.

Is the condo fairly quite in terms of noise from traffic and neighbors ?

Freeze[/QUOTE]You may run into trouble on the Peruvian side in Santa Rosa if you have no exit stamp. Last time I was through there, a woman was stamping tourists in or out.

Women are perceived to be less inclined to be bribed in Peru than men. Although when there is a shift change you could wait until a Peruvian official of the male gender is there. I would not be surprised if border guards anywhere could be made to look the other way, as long as there is nothing about you in their computer. I did not see any computers in Santa Rosa btw.

This triple frontier area appears to be more relaxed, people less nationalistic, their common bond is the jungle. There was no one on the Colombian side when I arrived in Leticia from Peru, two years ago. I imagine one could live in this town for years and no one would ask for their papers. The police would probably know about you very soon, but they would leave you alone if you were not a troublemaker. It's much different from the rest of Colombia, as Tabatinga is a lot different from the rest of Brazil.

I need to go there to have some fun and work a little.

Any info would be appreciated Safety? Prices? Other info.

Looks like great place. My novia found this place because I coundn't find anything decent for decent price. She paid it for me and wont tell me how much it was but she said it wasn't a lot. I'm going to call to see more or less how much are the rooms. I'm going to stay there this weekend to go see the non-pro novia. There is a English Version on the site as well but I speak fluent Spanish from 10 years of building homes in Texas. No pics but will be mongering in Bogota the night of the layover. Pics will be available from those adventures. Let me know when your exact dates are and see if we can meet up to take the chicas out.

I was in Cucuta last year to hook up with a Colombiana. I originally met her in Cartagena a few months earlier. She is originally from Cucuta. I had a wonderful time with Maria, but aside from that my friend, there isn't jack to do there. The streets are dirty, ugly, and I got many unsual looks as I would go about my business with Maria. Somehow the people from there sensed I was not from there. By the way, I am hispanic. I would not go as far as to say that I did not feel safe, but I just did not feel comfortable.

It is extremely hot, which is ok if one can go to a beach, but none of that there. Only the pool at my hotel. So I cut my trip short, and got the hell out of there, and headed back to Bogota. Maria was not happy about my actions.

As for p4p, I did not partake on any venues because I was with Maria. For the record, Maria was not a p4p gal. She is a non-pro( at least that's what she tells me, lol ). There were some very cute ladies at the local supermarkets. Unless you are going to have a good piece of pussy waiting for you there, don't even bother. Maybe someone else had a great experience, so one has to be openminded. Good Luck!

thanks a lot for your suggestions. Now I am undecided between Pereira or Barranquilla. I will have 12 free days (holiday). I have read wornderful posts about Barranquilla but I think there is a casket of beautiful girls in Pereira too. Yes, it is a smaller town than Barranquilla and it will not so many spots but my vacation will be short. I hope to read some interesting posts about Pereira.
