Its not dingy. Complete remodel. The exterior is much like Fyre, with occult symbolism and bright neon colors. The interior has some symbolism also, but is mostly dark in color, and the lights are turned down low.

IMO In Philippines it still depends on how much you want to pay / spend and what is your time frame. You don't need to spend big bucks and there are always many choices depending what you like and need. I was recently a few weeks in Manila mostly Makati and BGC and paid almost nothing for girls. The problem for some might be that at least always for me the first days are very slow and then only after some days I started to get connected with "online girls" (I don't know why it takes time first). The 800+ PHP for a beer trick isn't new, Dimples has been doing it since not long after it opened. Always twice cost of normal lady drink in my experience so far. Intent is that girl sits and sips beer which takes a lot longer than downing a tequila / apple juice, she therefore sits with you longer and you get hassled less by serving girls for 'another drink'. Not a bad plan if you intend on spending some time there, but as you said, kick in the nuts compared to your 150 PHP beer.

I did not walk up the short flight of stairs to see the curtained area, so I don't know if that transferred to the new remodel. After LP went out of biz last year (it came / went several times over 6-ish months), there was a near-complete remodel inside over a few months. At one point while passing by one evening I noticed a conveyor belt system on the ceiling (like an American dry cleaner shop). A few months later when I returned, I noticed that everything that had been remodeled had been removed, and a new remodel was underway (the current setup), and the conveyor was gone.

I must say, Burgos has always been expensive but some of those prices represent very little change over even ten years ago. Most have seen the girls tip expectations go up a little but nothing compared to the price rises in AC, Subic and even any semi decent girl online.

Ya its still about 10 k, give or take p1 k, in almost all bars (except Fyre). This has been the approximate price for about a decade, if not more. There is something a bit sinister / negative happening here, which I will detail later.

Fyre is obviously trying to differentiate itself as the place to be and priced accordingly. Interesting take in the old single / double drinks. I guess in some ways it makes sense: a beer takes much longer to drink than downing a shot. At least they were good enough to be upfront about it. At 880, I could see some arguments if guys weren't aware first.

I must say, Burgos has always been expensive but some of those prices represent very little change over even ten years ago. Most have seen the girls tip expectations go up a little but nothing compared to the price rises in AC, Subic and even any semi decent girl online.

Hit a number of Burgos bars recently. Spoke with door girls, GRO, waitresses, and mamas. Got a confirmation in each bar of these prices (spoke to at least two different of the above positions in each bar to confirm barfine prices). Hit most of these places on at least 2 separate nights.

Oculto (formerly Lion's Pride, formerly WowWow bar): barfine p4400 (per door girl, mama and later GRO) + tip. Still the same small bar and layout, a small downstairs with wet bar, and an upstairs (just a few steps up) same size. Two customers, myself and another guy. Seven pretty girls, 2 chubettes. A tall pretty thing sat with me trying to convince me to buy her LD, but I resisted her wicked fire-water and handsy temptations and moved on. Will go back and perv with her.

Having rum / coke there two nights after my initial visit (above), a waitress entered the VIP and when she opened the door I could see a fairly large room big enough for a party. Also on this night, the lineup of girls was very different: many more chubs. In addition to the VIP room, just next to the dance area, just to the left (facing the dancers) is a small booth area that is completely viewable from the dance stage, but very hidden from the rest of the customer seating area and bar. Great place to perv with your LD girl (tell her Westy sent you).

Second side note: How little you matter if you aren't a whale. My first night in Marquee, a mama and her girls surrounded my table (the only customer in the bar). V8: 3000 + tip (same as previously). Has a pole dancer perfom nightly (not bad). P150 per brew. Best barfine price on the strip. Great lineup of girls, period, and a fun atmosphere, lots of choreographed ass-shaking on stage.

Lips (upstairs): 3900 + tip (same as a few months ago and last year). Arrived just as the upstairs opened at 8 pm. About 15 cuties on tap with no chubettes. Girls kept tumbling out of the changing room and in 15 minutes there were 40-ish lovelies (2 chubs). Great lineup of girls and decent stage dancing. By 8:45 pm there were another 10 girls (more chubs). If you are looking for a lineup of young and hot, its hard to go wrong here. Cubana Cafe: Still up / running, most seats filled most nights. 2 bands most nights. Try the el Jefe burger or the cubano sandwich. Tell them Westy sent ya.

Bourbon: Previously an odd mix of live band, resto, and older GRO (late last year). I thought they'd dropped the GRO completely, but there are several older gals sitting at a table outside some nights (and not other nights). No idea how they are related to the business. Never see them inside or talking to gents. This place is now a gringo place. Mostly older white foreigners who bring their GF inside for band, booze and food. The bands play all 70's-80's gringo rock (B Jovi, Skynyrd, Journey, P Floyd, Queen). Was in 3 nights with my regulars, saw 3 bands, not a single pinoy song. Right down the street at Cubana you get a mix of songs from the bands.

O'Reilly's Pub (previously Rogues, upstairs): P3000 + tip, beer 150, LD 360. Quite the older crowd, including the GRO. Girls closer in age to 40 than 20. Did not see any GRO under the age of 30. Be prepared to be shocked at the fuglies. Saw only 2 'maybe' do-able early-30's girls. The mama surrounded me with half a dozen of Manila's fugliest and pressured me to buy them all a drink. Told her I would buy one of them a drink if she gave us privacy. Chose the least fugliest, only to hear her heart-breaking life story of one emergency / tragedy after another since birth. Avoid this place.

One Club (next door and downstairs to O'Reilly's). Did not bother getting data. Walked in on two nights and was fairly repulsed by the talent. At least half were chubs. Emergency egressed. As I have mild standards, it takes a LOT to make me turn and walk out after viewing the talent for just 10 seconds.

Caveat: Just like in AC, things change regularly in each bar. Girls come and go. Mamas change bars (taking their girls with them). You walk into a bar on Wednesday and are surrounded by 8 gals and a mama. You walk into the same bar Friday night and none of the 8 (and the mama) are working. There are about the same number of girls working both nights. Did the bar replace 1/3 of its girls in 48 hours?

Spending 30 minutes to several hours in this or that bar, never saw anyone barfine a girl. In fact, I saw relatively few paying customers, and whales were over-represented. That's muh Burgos info, and I'm sticking to it.

I was going to say the exact same thing. English is a huge one in the plus column for the filipinas, even though I admit that thais are physically more attractive. Some thais do speak english, but for me their accent is tough to listen to.

Extending your reference to Cebu, I find the average Thai more attractive than the average Pina. However, I didn't notice a big difference in looks around the various regions of Thailand. In PI if I don't like the Lyete and Samar spinners in AC, then it's not hard to find tall and stacked girls elsewhere. As an archipelago with '000's of islands, looks very widely around the PI.
