Hi mate.

I did take a look into Phuket and if what I've read is true then the prices being asked are crazy. I have a healthy budget for the trip but I still value my hard earned money and there is the principle that I refuse to be ripped off.

Perhaps prices are more reasonable away from the main strips and via online mechanisms like Thai Friendly, I shall do some more digging.

There is an area called Khao Lak about 1. 5 hours from Phuket and it has nice hotels and beaches. I'm wondering if mongering might be a bit more reasonable there. The hottest girls will probably be working in Phuket but I'm not chasing 9's and 10's, I actually prefer the pretty / well kept next door type as opposed to surgically enhanced model types.

My experience is of a different sort. I spent three weeks in Mindanao this past summer visiting my partner who lives in the mountains NW of Gensan. That trip was for time with her, and I wasn't looking for an opportunity to step out. We stayed near Gensan for several days, and spent a lot of time in that city, Polomulok, Koronadal / Marbel, and Surallah. Gensan has plenty of foreigners in the usual areas around the resorts, in the mall, etc. There are much fewer as you go past Koronadal. I would probably suggest not going too far off that path without a trusted Filipina or friend. Not because it is not safe, but because it really isn't a mongering area and it's pretty awkward to be alone. If you're not looking for a relationship, you have no business there. The girls will not meet foreigners for dates or paid encounters near where their family and friends live.
