It looks like a smashing place and if you are already in Thailand, it would be a nice splurge. Their website has rooms at a wide variety of rates; the cheapest is $72 so still a bargain.

Just be sure you don't pull a negative test. In that event, it's the Hotel California for you.

They have definitely started to open more hotels in December. Pre November 01, their windows were mostly dark IE shuttered.

When in doubt check the website

I hear you. I went through the same path, and still going through it. Although I added Dynasty Grande and LE Meridien on soy 4.

Going back mid January, and staying at Westin Grande, then a week in Pattaya (VT6 condo), then a few more nights in Bangkok at Sheraton Grande. Rates are noticeably higher.

Bangkok hotels running at 18% occupancy. Great time to book high end hotels for dirt cheap.

Phuket is at 16% capacity. Seems like the Sandbox is going well.

You can contact the management directly to ask about the offer. It was on their web page a while ago, but I have not seen it lately.

FWIW there is no way I would commit a million Thai baht 12 months in advance on any commitment that could be impacted at the whim of a disgruntled corrupt Thai official. Money is too hard to come by.

    It's open

Use some common sense and don't draw attention to yourself. You won't have a problem anywhere. I've stayed at Rosewood, Mandarin Oriental, Kempinski, Waldorf, etc and there is no issue at all. No issue with hotels one step down from those either. The desk staff at whatever time you walk through the door with your prize have no idea of knowing the person you're walking in with isn't registered and it's not a Thai thing to ask.

If she's got her hand down your pants or your mouth is on her tits as you walk through the lobby, expect a problem but they will apologize first.

Would be interesting to see what they would say if you register your guest but seeing as all hotels are bleeding for business, I highly doubt they would say anything.
