I visited that hotel last week when I was in Pattaya. It's a brand new hotel, which has been opened for just a few months. Everything was new in that hotel, but the rooms were relatively smaller, as it seems the trend lately. It is also right next door to Honey1 body massage. If you like soapies, you will be in heaven. It is also fairly closed to 2nd road.

The LK hotels have a 'wanna be Renassiance pretentiousness (on the outside) which to me looks poorly executed. Ie cheesy.

But for views from the restaurants, pool and connected to the no 1 mall in Pattaya, I think it is very good. You'the have to make sure you are booking ocean view. And I don't know about smoking.
Haven123's suggestion is a very good one but I also am not sure about taking two girls back at once. I don't believe anybody here has ever published a list of hotels that are 2 girl friendly. I would suggest emailing the hotel of your choice and asking them directly.

And now a word about location. It seems all first timers worry about the walking distance to walking street (WS). Stay very close to either Second Road or Beach Road in Pattaya and you will be happy. Being very close to Soi Buakow is ok too but I much prefer hotels located next to or on Second or Beach Road. Don't worry about distance to WS. Pattaya's baht bus system operates 24 hours and is amazingly convenient and cheap. Hop on a baht bus and you can get to WS and / or shopping malls in minutes for 10 baht (US thirty cents).

Bangkok and Pattaya hotels urgent help.

    Hello everyone,

I am from Delhi and travelling to Bangkok and Pattaya in 10 days (just made the booking). Could you guys please help me out with the hotels as I am really confused as to which hotel I should choose.

Priority: Centralised location, girl friendly (no joiner fee), upper middle category (around 3500 Indian rupees per day is my budget). This is my first trip to Thailand and my friends just gave their confirmations for this trip. So its an urgent request.

Thanks in advance for the support in hope that seniors and others here will help a fellow monger.

    Rocky2300.

    Pattaya upscale

    - upper end / somewhat fancy.

    - balcony.

    - GF 18+ Ideally 2 girls at once

$ not too big of a deal. Up to $200 USD a night is fine.

From what I've read my best bet is going to be LK Empress. Can someone confirm? (Or offer a better solution).

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Thanks for the tips in this thread, I've stayed in Baraquda for a few nights and I'm really pleased with it. The only thing is the furniture seemed to be a bit dated (and also the wardrobe was rather small), but overall the experience was very nice. Super-friendly staff, had my room ready at 1 pm, and since I (unbeknown to me) have a silver status in the accorclub, also gave me a late checkout until 3 pm (couldn't do any later). Which was very handy as my flight was departing in the evening, and I only got back from Insomnia at 7 am anyway.

A girl I took from Insomnia spent good few minutes being amused by the concept of the in-room shower (as in Baraquda the shower is separated from the main room by a glass partition, rather than being in a separate room). They also called me when she was leaving to check if everything is ok, which I find really nice and gives me a peace of mind.

Its not cheap, but highly recommended.

I concur with others that the average Baywalk room is not nicer than the average LK room. The 60+ sqm rooms in some of the LK hotels are quite nice.
Agree BB. Have stayed at Baraquda which was excellent. Close to WS and very nice rooms and facilities. Stayed also at Siam Bayshore which had ok rooms and nice facilities. It was right on WS so great location. Lately have been staying at At Mind just near Soi 6. Great location and well priced. Good rooms but beds a littke hard. Good pool and facilities. All three hotels are GF. Am back in Pattaya next week and have again booked At Mind. Cannot resist it being so close to soi 6.

    Happy Hunting.

Ditto - LK Empress is Good

IMHO, LK Empress is a very nice hotel. The only problem I had was my room's floor was so highly polished that it was very slippery in stocking feet.

You may or may not like the location. It is a long walk to both Soi 6 and to Walking Street, but both are doable.

I could not relate to a prior comment that somebody wanted a nicer hotel.

    Awesome responses

Banaboi, yeah I that may of seemed a little bit exaggerated. My list of GF hotels I gathered last trip didn't have a whole lot of different hotels listed. None of the ones why'all mentioned except Barracuda. That Royal cliff looks really nice. I'm going to check that one out eventually either way. Wow! Seems the baywalk is the winner for me. Perfect location for what I want to do and seems a notch up from LK & Areca. Had a pretty bad experience at LK last trip. Thanks for all your help! Great suggestions! Thanks.

Baywalk Residence is GF. The Mini Suite with sea view is very good. Cost 4500 Baht a night breakfast inclusive.

I stayed at the Hilton last time but it's a bit too expensive. 330 right now. Avani would be a great fit but they now have a big joiner fee and room is pretty pricey. Any ideas?
I just quickly checked for check-in 4 days from now. From what I can see lots of hotel availability and prices don't seem that bad. I see Hilton at 6700 baht. Siam Bayshore steps from Walking Street for 2900 baht. A bit further out but still on baht bus route there is the luxury Dusit Thani at 3700 baht. Another high end hotel is Royal Cliff for about the same price 5 minutes from Walking Street if you have a motorbike. ISG favorite Baraquda is 3200 baht and very convenient for Walking Street and LK Metro. If your budget is lower PM me with your exact dates and I will find something within your budget.

edit - as PL just posted, Page 10 on 2nd Road is also a very good choice. Baywalk Residence is girl friendly.
