Interesting. I was one of the early days of covid departing / returning fellas (2021) when the poorly-designed early version of E-Travel app was first online. It was clunky, crashed, and changed regularly for about 6-8 months. Never once bothered with it when departing the country (at that time), just when re-entering. Oddly the first time I departed ('21), it wasn't E-Travel that was required. When I hit NAIA for my outbound and checked in with the airline, the PAL check-in agent asked if I had filled in my California health app (flying into LAX). Had never heard of the Cali app before. He pointed to a large sign on the wall stating all passengers flying into California, even just transiting thru, had to fill in an app. He was kind enough to download the app into my phone for me and help me fill in the simple questions (name, address in Cali if any, symptoms), hit ENTER, and I got a barcode, which he screen captured for me. Had to show that at LAX inbound immigration.

Posts: 326Haha. So true women here roll their eyes when they see a pic of my girlfriends in Philippines. Ladies I'm just doing what men do here if they can. Its just a matter of scale. Enough money or fame I could do the same thing here. SEA is a place the regular guy can be Brad Pitt but I can't in US for obvious reasons. Women are women the world over it just a matter of scale.

Best practice has been to apply on a laptop or PC before entering.
In this phone App world we are now in, those things fuck up regularly.
Some people say the submission is just another hassle.
But it's a much better system doing it all in a few minutes, and a few days before you land, rather than having to dig for your passport, a pen, your hotel address etc in a confined aircraft, in order to fill out a paper form prior to landing.
Just my experience_Phil.

Posts: 237Being a conformist, I'll just do the departure submission. Just in case. Not that it's that much of a hassle.

Posts: 107I regularly depart the Philippines every 2 to 3 months. I've never filled out E-Travel when leaving the country and immigration inspectors have never questioned me. The Philippine Airline website specifically states that only Filipino passport holders must complete it for the outbound leg. I assume the E-travel website does as well.

However, E-Travel is mandatory for all inbound visitors, regardless of nationality.

That is for inbound flights only, or it was on my last 3 visits. Overseas workers are a forex gold mine for the regime and special conditions apply to them.

I went in here https://www.skyteam.com/en/travel-requirements and tried US passport from Phils to US, and then from US to Phils: Inbound needed only.
Then I tried Phil passport to and from Thailand, and again Phil evisa only needed to the Phils (I picked Thailand to make it easy).
Personally, I wouldn't to leave any of this to chance and ask a travel agent (s).

Posts: 1377I always did it, and in the past trips where I forgot to doit it appears as "incomplete", yesterday when I left PH I tried to do it, but there was no option for exit. I don't know, they modified the app or it's because I was on regular visa at the end of the 4th month.

Posts: 237Foreigners departing the Philippines must complete the digital eTravel registration, which replaced paper departure cards. Register for free on the official eTravel website within 72 hours of your flight to generate a required QR code. This applies to both air and sea travel.

Also, found out you need to use the same app for departing the PI. Submitting a departure notice.

Posts: 237Us citizen visa requirements for the philippines
Yes, have done some research and it indicates US Citizens do not require a visa / e-visa for entry into the Philippines for tourist travel under 30 days with a valid US Passport that's good for 6 months from your arrival date and having on-ward travel documents.
Anyone able to confirm this??
Flying into Clark International Airport in June and if above is accurate, I'll just need to do a e-arrival card submission 72 hours before arrival in country.

In case you never thought about it, we are all stars here in SEA. Why? I present here my case, and you draw the conclusions:

Posts: 603Live TV: word to the wise
Further to this, the EU are doing mass arrests of guys selling boxes and the networks are promising to sue users, much like when they first started to crack down on pirating music etc. Your mate's best bet would be to go through Pinay networks. In my own case, not only do I not have a TV but I don't want one either. Whenever I want to watch a movie or whatever, I Piratebay it. The only time I watch TV is when the hooker in the bed beside me is watching it.

Posts: 1377I do it the other way: I watch US stuff in the PH (movies, because I don't care about live TV, but is there). I have the app on my phone, and I broadcast to a Chromecast that I plug into the TV, it's small about the size of a cigarette pack.

I pay about $120/ year for the app subscription, but you may find cheaper or free ones.
Just do a search for IPTV.
If it's a newer TV you don't need the Chromecast.
