You should seriously consider staying somewhere more central. The roofgardeninn to me is "out in the sticks". I stayed in Jomtien for 6 months and the worse part was all of the travelling in and out of Pattaya on the Baht buses.

Everything you need is in Pattaya, so stay somewhere central like Soi 13 (eg Whitehouse condotel for 1500B high season, or one of the Sawasdee Hotels(Soi 10 or 11) for 500B to 900B depending on which one it is).

By the way the 700B quoted by the roofgarden inn is a low season rate. Low season starts 1 March, so you will be paying more than that for a visit in February.

I found Airfare from buff for 1050 all in or 1270 all in from Toronto so its not that bad I've planned 2 g's US for my time down there (2weeks). Think I can still make it. Yes the roof garden inn is excellent. Admittedly it sucks getting into pattaya sometimes with a backlog of traffic. But the rooms are first rate and the staff are excellent!

I will be in Pattaya from Feb 7-11 for a short trip. This is my first time to PAttaya and was wondering what is the best way to get from Bangkok to Pattaya. Also, I am staying at a place called Secrets. Is this a good hotel? I have searched the thread and haven't heard mention of it.

The way search result priority works, or part of the way it works, is that the more links there are out there on the internet to a certain site, the higher that site gets bumped up in the search results to the top (closer to page one, number one result). So it means that if there were more sites out there with links to this site, that would benefit this site because the more visits a site gets (and higher result in Google/Yahoo would equate to more visits), the more money the site can make.

I haven't searched lately for this site on Google or Yahoo, maybe this site doesn't need it, not sure.

I know a guy who runs a 'link farm' -- basically dummy websites that have links to websites of people he charges for the service -- what they get out of it is higher placement in the search results of Google and Yahoo.

Yes I have been reading up on this lately. The latest algorithms for working out your position in a search listing is now secret and uses many factors. If your link is found in a link farm you lose points.

I think it all depends on who you are and what sort of girls you like to spend your money on. The price you pay has always been a touchy subject.

There being three general categories.

Cheap. The infamous cheap charlie.

You could get a room somewhere past second road for 400bht, possibly less.

You could eat thai food, and take girls from beach road. Possibly sleeping eating and shagging for 1000. 1500bht a day.

Medium. Stay somewhere like the Flipper lodge on soi 7 and 8. Eat at resturants drink in the beer bars occassional visit to Gogos. Approx 5000bht

Top range. Well the sky is the limit. The more money you have the more there is to spend it on really.

Places like Thailand are cheap in comparison to the same what we get back home. But it just allows you to spend the same or more without some discipline.

Food if you mix western and local should average not over 400 baht a day for 6 meals.Hotel reasonably good, with hot water and aircon 600 baht near Walking Street.Girl can be as low as 400bast a pop in beach road to how much you want to give.
I should also be in Pattaya latter half of February this year and probably April and again in June.

And by the way, quickest way to Bangkok is via Hong Kong. Both Air Canada and Cathay Pacific have daily non-stops from Toronto to Hong Kong. So you can do it in one stop.

I walked around alot and mostly the quality was not good.
