Again, you seem to be missing my point there, which was a narrow one. Let me say it another way. That part of what I wrote was really only mainly an aside about how the value that people place on a good or service can change because of an experience they had. And that's it. You seem to keep wanting to make it about something more than that. It's not. But to answer your question, yes! As long as I can afford to pay for First Class of Business Class and still monger where I want to for as much and as long as I want to then yes. I will pay that kind of money out of my own pocket. I can, I have, and I will again in the future. But you won't see me buying at the counter though! I typically plan my travel well in advance and score good deals. There are so many good deals out there if you plan and know what you're doing (and can be flexible)! I still can't believe some of the airfare deals I've scored landing me in First Class / Business Class seats!

But even still to be totally transparent, I don't have to do that (pay with cash) every single time though because I've traveled a lot and I have a ton of miles as well (so regarding the miles I guess you can say I paid indirectly for First Class by paying to fly a lot in the first place resulting in all of those miles). Miles which I use strategically and judiciously. Sometimes I'm going to pay with cash, and sometimes I'm going to dip into my mileage balances and pay with one of those. But generally speaking yes, it's worth it to me to pay that money as long as I can afford to. And as I said. I can, I have, and I will. It wasn't always that way believe me! Like I said once before, I thought I would be stuck in back in "cattle class" forever. However, in the last near 7 years I managed to "break out" and saw my net worth explode!. There are guys here of all kinds of backgrounds and of varying economic means. Some have the coin to fly First / Business Class and monger in the "Scandallos" of the world if they wish, besides going to only the lower cost destinations like "El Centro" in Medellin or "Santa Fe" in Bogota (which is also a good idea as a part of one's overall trip plan).

So, let us not assume nor generalize about that either (the level of economic means possessed by the members of this board). There are def some here who have more than me no question. I'd say, based on my years of reading here, that I'm probably in the upper middle of the range. It's not just what you've earned that matters either. Just as important is what you've managed to keep!

My comparisons of restaurants in Italy=girls in Brazil. There are many to choose from and all come at different prices. Some start at $ and go to $$ Some guys think it's worth it and some don't. McDonald's=clinicas. Set prices and decent experience but limited and sometimes more than not same old options on the menu. Following up on my plan to try Scandallo as it was meant to be experienced, I showed up just before 7 pm on Thursday night (which various girls have said to be the most popular). While walking around the club, I finally saw a girl which triggered my "go" instinct. We had a good conversation, then went up for my first room experience at the club. Overall it was ok.
