So on my recent trip to Tijuana a couple of weeks ago one of my regular chicas (who worked at Adelitas for a few years before it closed) sprung this wild tidbit of information on me. She said she doesn't think Adelitas will be open anytime soon because the owner is in prison partly as a result of the policia finding 5 dead bodies under the Adelita stage during their investigation. Do I actually believe that? No, but she said it with a straight face and seems to firmly believe it herself LOL. This chica was good friends with the girl who was killed at Adelitas by the former Rutgers basketball player a few years ago during COVID (they lived in the same apartment building and knew each other well). About the wildest rumor I've heard yet and I suppose is yet another reason to take anything these chicas say with a frain of salt.

This is both exciting and somewhat conflicting news. Exciting because there absolutely needs to be some competition in the zona. AB has always been a great place to have a beer and the hustle factor was not as bad as HK which with my recent visits to HK has actually seemed to have gotten worse than before.

AB if allowed to reopen could take this opportunity to price themselves as they did before below what HK is charging and hopefully succeed and eventually expand.

I'm conflicted however as I've always had the thought in my head that the women in the bars chose that profession willingly and weren't being trafficked against their will. This of course is just how the media is portraying El Padrino. According to the media ALL women who participate in prostitution are being "Trafficked" so who knows what the truth really is.

My hope is they open soon and when they do I will make the trek from Vegas to visit the bar once again. The zona isn't the same without AB there.

Interesting information. If they get permission they can open quickly. This video (sec. 20) is of the previous Adelita DJ I think Jorge. He was always in a good mood and kept cursing in English. I'the imagine it would depend on how soon the owner could hire and train employees. But to be honest, given all the crimes the ownership has reportedly been involved in (including sex trafficking), it'the be a major surprise if Adelita reopens soon. Then again, it is Mexico, so never say never.

Adelitas was the first Zona Norte club I ever walked into when I first started coming to Tijuana many years ago. Aside from the very common GFE, my favorite thing about Adelitas was the 20 dollar rooms Monday through Wednesday.
