    To Worry

Then what are you going to do when they tell you that you can not travel unless you have been vaccinated?

Thank you for the stats. It is impossible to know the truth at this point. Nothing will be the same due to the "fear" they have instilled in the "sheeple". This is just my opinion. I will not conform to a "new normal" nor will I accept a vaccine because who know's what is really in them. They have killed and paralyzed many of our African Brothers and Sisters with their vaccines. Not to mention the "sterilization' of our women. My goal is to travel wherever I chose, when I chose. I don't advocate a person not doing whatever they think they need to do. It's all horseshit to me. But, it's here and it's not going away nor is there a "cure" for any virus that I know of. Except maybe Hepatitis C, and I think your immune system kicks in on that issue with a little help. There is a bigger picture here which is yet to emerge, but it is on the way. I follow the the guidelines only when I have to due to work and such. Take care yourselves and let's hope things loosen up soon.

    Peace and love.

I was listening to the radio yesterday in my car. I am not going to mention station name so the conspiracy theorists do not get started. Two reporters reported from Italy and France. When the reporters were asked about the chances of US passport holders traveling to those two countries, this summer, as they open up for tourism, both demurred. Looking at your statistics, numbers normalized, even though I do not know the source, it makes sense, as the EU have enough problem of their own and most likely will restrict travel from across the pond. What will happen to the DR, I do not know but again, looking at your numbers, it would definitely pose a challenge to the local authorities in the DR.

It is after all a medical not political issue isn't it?

Countries may take a dim look at travelers from the United States of America. I doubt simply holding a passport from there will become a liability. But could result in ALL travelers arriving from hot spots in the United States of America receiving additional medical screening. I addressed issues of medical issues involving COVID-19 and why I personally think additional medical screening for those arriving from hotspots in the United States of America (or any country for that matter) in the Politics in the Dominican Republic forum less than a month ago.

For those US passport holders that are raring to go. Anywhere!

No more calling your barber and getting a trim behind closed doors. Was expecting things to be pretty tense with months of no business but feels alright on the street, vibe is pretty good. Was visiting Coco bar which is officially closed but if you knock and say you are friend you can get a drink at the bar. The bartender is a cool Canadian guy always telling stories but honestly the place is pretty lively as is with everyone just enjoying all good times. I was told you can get a good breakfast at the back at Plan be. Never tried it though. Street action is next to non-existent especially compared to what it used to be. All Santo Domingo chicas are staying put at home.

Was pretty sad to learn that the main disco is closed until further notice as an attempt to "turn the city into family friendly neighborhood" by the local government. Sosa just changed the major so may be it will change, who knows, but the resort lobby seems pretty powerful.

Any other advice of functioning bars at the moment? Hearing a lot of music in the neighborhoods, anyone had a way to get to the party?
That's a pretty accurate summing up of the status here at the moment.

But just a note. While the cops are aware of the (illegal) back room activities going on at the usual spots, it's not helpful to the owners to have them publicized by name on a public board.

There's PM facility here for that, yours for a modest full subscription.

    Cheers!

Thank you for that information. They didn't specify any reopening time frames for this summer season but thought I get some feedback on that place from others who might have visited in the past to see what's its like.

Sign up on Blackbeard website and you will get monthly newsletter and regular updates. I signed up long time ago and receive it regularly although I never stayed there.

Hi Remy. Why do you not:

    1) Look in the Blackbeards Resort thread for this information?

    2) If you have more questions after having done that, post them in the Blackbeards Resort thread.

    3) Delete your post here (and I will delete mine).
