I know this topic has been covered before but can't seem to locate what I'm looking for using the search feature. Can someone please identify the pharmacy in Sosua that has the best pricing for 100 mg generic Viagra that works. Don't want to buy from the "hawkers" on the street. Thanks in advance.

Posts: 5987Where Have all the Haitians Gone?
I believe I've hit on the reason why I generally get sub par service from Dominican pros. It is possibly because I spend as little time as possible with them before heading to my room. Case in point last night after taking in the stage show on Pedro Clisante I headed over to Rumba's around 9.00 pm and immediately pulled a chica who caught my fancy. Not worth wasting readers' time with the details. She was gone and I was fast asleep by midnight.
As a previous poster has said the women are quite nonchalant in the clubs. I believe that is because they are proud and do not enjoy what they are doing. I think they prefer if you treat them like a girlfriend rather than slam bam which is what I do. This is unlike the Brazilianas who generally enjoy their job.
On another note, as has also been posted before, I have noticed that Sosua is much more lively than when I was last here in 2008. There is just so much more happening. There are much more women and much hotter than back then. One down side for me is that there are much less Haitians than on my last visit. Back then the Haitians saved the day for me.
After lunch today (Sunday) I went down to la playa, it was teeming with hundreds of hot chicas, got smiles from some but unfortunately my Espanol is not good enough to help me here. Must learn Spanish as I enjoy soaking in the ambiance of the locals. For those who like doing the same I recommend eating at a small restaurant called 'Comedor Economico Mangu' on the other side of Dr. Rosen on Pedro Clisante next to Lynda's. Real Dominican atmosphere.

I would think lack of opportunities entice women anywhere in the world do what you are speaking of the German FKKs are full of the East Europeans / Russians but as long as there is no exploitation or abuse, I do not see why the laws of demand and supply are bad as most moralists tend to make it. Having said that, and given that you are Belgian, it should be fairly easy for you to handle Spanish and move on from the pros to something more challenging. The beauty of the DR is that (I am told there are other places in South America as well).

Was thinking about coming back to Sosua in June, but have never been there then. Was wondering about a couple of things. Firstly, is it much hotter than when I was there in March? As hot (or hotter?) than when I was there in late August / early September? March was hot enough for me, I don't think I would enjoy it much hotter!
How busy is it in June, does it get much less chicks than in March? Dead early in the week maybe? Or won't I notice the difference from when I was there in March. I know the low season has started, but don't really know the details of the ups and downs in chicas / tourists during the summer months. Any advice would be welcome guys !

Posts: 500Had a great time there in March
Hey guys, I was in Sosua for 10 days in March, after 10 days in Santo Domingo. Thought I would post about it before things start to fade from my memory. On the whole have to say I had a great time. Everything about the place was miles better than when I was last there in August / September 2011, then it was pretty dead and far too hot. There was much more life about the place this time, loads more good looking women, a better / friendlier atmosphere, and the motoconcho guys and street touts in general hassled me much less. I guess I have also learned the art of ignoring them better than before. There were several new bars and restaurants around, which added to the general improvement of the town. Felt very safe there too, even walking around at night.
When I was last there, girls couldn't walk 10 metres from bar to bar without fear of being arrested, this time there was no sign of police arresting anybody as far as I could tell, girls wandered around as they liked by day and by night.
There is a strange thing that happens to me when I'm in the Dominican Republic though. When I'm here in Belgium I spend at least 50 % of my time thinking about women and sex, possibly because it's boring, or cold, and you're dying for fun and excitement to get you away from your problems. But after a few days in the DR I felt so relaxed and genuinely chilled out, that sex just become one thing on your mind instead of the only thing. Being in the sun, being away from your worries, just having easy going conversations with people, you are happy, even sometimes without getting laid believe it or not! In 10 days in Sosua, I was only with 4 chicks, 3 from the'Latins and one I met just out walking during the day. Took loads of phone numbers of other chicks from the'Latins though, hopefully to use in the near future. It's also I guess because I also think about the social side of things there, the poverty, why it's so easy to get a gorgeous chick etc. I can't just be mercenary and selfish on a daily basis.
Regarding mongering, usually started out at the large sports bar (sorry, name escapes me) 2 along from the'Latins in the late afternoon, usually the best chicks only arrived there in the evening, before heading off to the'Latins around 11 pm. The'Latins is a fun place, but it's not really the best place to chat / meet girls. Sure, you can pull most women you want there, but when you're busy buying drinks, pushing your way through the crowd, talking to other punters, you might find you have spent half the night there doing that, instead of concentrating on why you went therein the first place! Also some of the girls there, especially in groups, try to act like they they're not looking for business, even if they are in reality. Trying to look and act classy and unavailable, even though you could have any of them for 2000 peso if you bothered to ask! This can be off-putting. By the way, I paid 2000 peso each for all 4 women I was with. The first quoted 1500, but she was so gorgeous and performed well that I decided to give her a propina of another 500 peso!
It's hard to generalise about the place / women in D'Latins, but as with Classico's before, many of the girls in the'Latins look / act like such pro's that they are just not attractive to me, and though they will give you their phone number with no reservation, if they do it with no smile / no chit chat or enthusiasm, I personally have no interest in taking them back to my place. There were a couple of girls in particular, who had bodies which just knocked me out, but seemed so boring and disinterested, not just in me, but in general, that this put me off! Maybe the heat drains their energy levels and makes them lazy, who knows?
The more often I went there, the less sexy the place became. My second last night, I had little interest in any of the chicks there, and I was questioning myself, ie 'What's wrong with me, why didn't I bring any chicks back from there'. I even found the little bartender girl at the far end bar (where they serve food too) better looking and sexier than most of the girls in there, maybe simply because she was not on of them and was dressed like a regular chica? But then the next day, just coming out of the small supermarket near the casino, I saw the hottest looking little chick, very pretty, big rack and denim shorts. I said Hi to her and we sat in the park beside the casino and I arranged to meet her at my appartment an hour later. Just talking to her I had a serious hard on, she was so gorgeous, very friendly and with a non-pro attittude, I had never seen her before in Sosua and definitely never in the bars there either, she came up from Santo Domingo the same day (or so she said!) Anyway, my point is that I was fine and looking for hot ladies, just that the chicks in the'Latins were not doing if for me the last few nights, but she definitely was! I did pull 3 chicks out of the'Latins though, including a huge titted mulatta from Santiago on my second night, and a slim hipped but equally huge titted black girl from Puerto Plata. Is there a pattern developing here?
There's another reason also why I was so casual about getting laid there. Like another guy at my apartment complex said to me, 'When the fridge is full, you're not hungry!' Its true, when it's so easy to get laid and you've got time on your hands, you kind of think, OK, so if I don't get laid today, then I can get laid tomorrow!
As last time there, I tended to eat a lot at Baileys. I like the space and informality of the place and get on well with the staff there. It is quite expensive though compared to other places.
Anyway, on the whole I had a great time, as much because I felt relaxed there, and Sosua had improved so much; than because of the sex side of things. I hope to be come back soon, that's for sure!

Posts: 2753Sosua update from CC on FB.
Sosua News 16 May 2014.
Pedro Clisante soon free of traffic.
The die is cast: from 1 June, a part of the main street Pedro Clisante will be closed for traffic from 6 PM until 6 AM.
This means that the restaurants can put their tables out on the street and that the guests are not bothered by racing motorcycles and their stench and noise anymore.
At the corner of the Bermuda Bar (better known as the bar of thick Herman) and the Rumba Bar, preparations have been made, they placed poles in the sidewalk which makes it easy to close to road with a barrier. Also on the corner of the pizzeria 'Little NY Pizza' (formerly Pluto Bar or Happy Bar) they have placed these poles to close the road for traffic easily.
Most restaurant and bar owners are very pleased with this decision of the municipal council. What's left is to search for a solutions for the visitors who come by car to the Pedro Clisante and now lost their parking space.

Took the DP300 half hour traffic filled taxi trip from Boutique Hotel Palacio to Caribe Tours station in Santo Domingo, then the DP330 five hour Caribe bus journey to Sosua followed by the DP250 five minute taxi trip to hotel. I needed a locale with a beach; Rio's too expensive and Pattaya is too far so here I am in Playa Sosua after an absence of exactly six years. I had not returned earlier because of poor service received on my last trip. If the same happens this time around at least I would have the ambiance of the beach environment. Walking around I've seen some good prospects, I'm pretty optimistic. Reports on chicas to follow.

Posts: 507Well, no need to deal with an agent for immigration if you have a US passport at MIA. Just scan the passport at the Kiosks and answer some questions online, pose for the camera and it prints out a receipt wth you picture. Give it to the agent and you are good to go. Not so easy for permanent residents as they still have to deal with an officer, finger prints etc.
The customs guys however have their customary questions for everyone. Just answer in general and no details unless they prod you. This guy was particular on how many times I have been to the DR, less than 10 or more? Like its some magic number. Whatever. There is no need to worry unless you are already on a list or have an arrest record of some sort in the US (or someone with your name has a violation like members are saying here).
Its even more easier if you have Global Entry, looks like they bypass customs too unless they are picked for a random check.

Checked in with Peter through his Facebook account since there had been no news there for a couple of months. He says that with the passage of time it's getting harder and harder to get things done, not easier, and that he had no good news to report, so anyone holding out hopes of a grand reopening should probably cultivate some new dreams. It's a shame, but it's not really surprising.
Are the New Garden girls that are being turned away daytime going anywhere else instead? The beach, or the Casa Cayena pool, or some such? Also, what is defined as "daytime"? Or are they being turned away at night too?
