I have been lately going to Cali Colombia instead of my normal trips to the DR. However, I don't get the hometown appeal in Cali. Our definition of hometown might be different.

I get it. It's hard to quantify but the DR is really geared toward Tourism which why I suggest that everyone start there.

Like I said all you have to go is to go to the place that any and everyone will tell you to go to Zona Colonial and right there infact on el Conde itself you'd find everything you need right there.

I've developed more genuine friendships in the DR in the one year I've been there than in the two years I've been in Cali again the people are generally more friendly welcoming and accomodating and that's despite the scamming ass "Get the Gringo" Dominican mentality. In fact once you get off of tourist mode Dominicans are generally nice.

Cali very little of the welcoming accomodating vibe you get what you get and it is what it is but they generally leave you alone that means that they generally don't try to scam you or sell you random shit (as much). You could go to Grenada the most swingingst place in Cali and it's Gringo Gulch and even those there's hoes there you wouldn't find them unless you knew where to go.

Hell you wouldn't even see any gringos except by luck. And even if you went to Chipichape Mall you probably wouldn't see any gringos and if you did chances are high that they'd give you no intel at all.

Speaking to you GM you and some of the other fellas are more my friends than the vast majority of expats in SD most of my firends are expats with some frequent visitors in the friend group.

Again I say as much as I dig Cali it's an acquired taste not for everyone and not the most jumping place in the world. You don't find a local plug who can help you in Cali and you'd be stuck just dealing with Casa and streetmeat only.

I'm quoting my own post for me but also for any other monger considering to travel to SD Cali or both.

After finding my feet I still agree that women are still more user friendly in the DR, It's hard to find a woman that going to give you a bad lay. It seems like DR women willing to get into the game are trained up with excellent "bedside Manner". Then there's the fact that 90% of anything in the states you can get in the DR Technically that's true in Cali too but there's random things that you may miss from the states that I can't find in Cali. Cali is a large city with over a million people but it has a small town feel.

Same thing for the women I'm getting low mileage "Non Pro's" in Cali fairly well. Again it's no Santo Domingo but generally the bedside manner is the same. I do miss the Malecon and the beaches but they are a short flight away, However a 7 dollar bus trip beats a 40 dollar plane trip. That brings me to Cali's biggest selling point Price. I made it to the 2000 DOP Peso club after starting in the 4000 peso club but I'm in the 100 K COP club. As of this writing 100 K COP is about 1476 DOP so it's still cheaper overall. That being said I had a few accidental freebies by this point in the DR. What I mean iby accidental freebies is that I had a few Tinder overnights where the chica didn't ask for a dime so I didn't give them any but they didn't return calls after that Mr. Go-Go put me straight on that.

But speaking on Prices everything's cheaper here, again my apartment is currently 372 USD when I first rented it is was 437 USD till I cut out the Airbnb middleman. I had an apartment north of the river in SD that was 550 USD and the price never dropped in fact in increased for Christmas. You can go clear across town in rush hour and you won't pay more than 6 USD. I routinely paid 6 bucks to go from Piantini to the Colonial Zone.

Then there's the infrastructure one reason that you will pay more is because tourism affects the Dominican economy more so literally your Airbnb host would rather kick you out because the host knows that there's some noob willing to pay double the price you paid a month for for only two weeks. In Cali there's not zero Blackouts but no one has an inverter in their house because it's not needed. I drink bottled water but the water here is potable so you can brush your teeth with the water here. It's not nearly as hot here as people would have you believe, the heat myth is from people visiting from Medellin or Bogota. There's little humidity here because it's freqently overcast and it rains for a few minutes everyday (usually late nights and early mornings) . One final upside to Cali is because of the lack of demand there's no talk of cedula's and multimonth security deposits to rent in Cali, You make a deal and you pay the rent as you go no paperwork required.

One other con is the few monger expats here aren't tight knit there's no monger bars no El Conde where you can people watch and pick up a girl who tickles your fancy. Most people not only don't speak english but don't understand american accented spanish. Practice rolling your are's before you get here.

That being said as an retired expat Cali is hard to beat but Santo Domingo is hard not to love. It looks like I'll live in Cali and visit Santo Domingo, In fact I'm making a visa run soon.

There's really no major differences to my last update but I'm quoting the post so that I can find it and to help mongers thinking about visiting especially in light of all the druggings in Medellin.

Bottom Line Up Front.

I'f you new to mongering or new to Colombia and you're thinking about coming to Cali go to Santo Domingo instead. With the weak infrastucture and higher prices you'll still have a much better time simply because you could easily stumble on the hot spots in SD wheras unless you carefully read the forum if you came to Cali you'd be lost.

That being said shit is way cheaper in Cali take out at selected casas (if you could find them) are better. Dating apps while not recommended seem to be ok as long as it ain't Tinder.

Keep in mind that Paypal usually takes a couple days to verify and costs more to the sender and the receiver.

Cashapp I think works only in the states. I beleive it's the same for Venmo.

World Remit works with creditcards.

Remitly does have a more expensive ten minute option but in all these apps but it's a bank to bank transfer so both parties would have to be comfortable with each other having both their full names and banking infomation.

Finally I'd say that a good minority of Dominicans have only the smaller amount in a bank account or are overdrawn which would affect recieving payments.

I could say that I'm not really surprised that a girl charging 350 a pop would be all business which is a lot of dominicans monthly salary but to each his own.

I will say that demanding digital payments is wildly unusual for the average dominican woman to accept and that relying on that will give less flexibility that dealing with the average Dominicana.

In all things cash is king.

Going to split this up because I was in SD for 3 days and PC for 3 more. Will post the PC bit in the PC forum.

In SD I was with a friend of mine and we stayed at his family's house, though I also rented a room at Crowne Plaza to bring girls back to if needed.

Before the trip I had been swiping a bit each day on Tinder, chatting with whoever replied to my likes and setting up maybe 8 to 9 potential girls. A friend and I are heading to Santo Domingo next month for 5-days, and I'm doing my homework and RTFF for intel. 40+ pages deep and here are my notes. Please chime in if any info below is inaccurate, out of date, or if I missed anything.

"Walk The Track" - All the below places are within a few blocks of each other so easy to bar hop from one to the next.

Oasis. Corner of Billini & see. Sainchez. Strip club / brothel, $6000 average girl price. We have been here before and had a great time, 10-15+ girls, mostly 6-8's. It's a more expensive option but good quality girls and clean rooms. Google maps says the place is 24 hours, one report I read said they open at 4 pm, which sounds more realistic. This will likely be our go-to place again.

Foxy's & Ancla Bar & Lounge. One block east from Oasis on Billini, $6,000 average girl price. Most comments suggest both places have 4-6 girls with mixed reviews.

Casa Venezolanas & Colombianas. Two blocks north from Oasis on Sainchez, 3-story White House on the right, apparently the girls hang out the window? $2,000 half / $3500 1-HR. Not sure how many girls or quality.

Hotel Odette. See. Padre Billini. 264. Bar / brothel with 3-5 girls, most reported 6-8 quality with English speaking managers. $6000 hour.

Paraiso Club. See. Padre Billini, one block east of Hotel Odette. Strip Club that also seems to be a clip joint, google reviews are terrible. $6000 hour, One review of a midafternoon trip said 3 girls available, assume they might have more late evenings.

General info & tips.

Use Uber, no rental car.

SIM card. Claro is the dominant carrier there. T-Mobile works but not sure the roaming charges.

Most hotels in DR are guest friendly (prostitution is legal) and they don't appear to charge "chica fees" like other destinations. Most (like Jaguar) will require the girl check-in and will take a copy of her ID.

Airbnb seems to be the #1 choice of hobbyist on the forum however, for value and privacy. The downside is you are your own security.

Don't go to any clubs with the "fixers" hanging out in front of the casinos. You get marked and will pay higher prices, plus a commission to the fixer.

Take a screen shot of the names and addresses of the places you want to go, and save it as your phones home screen for easy access. And / or create your own map in Google maps.

Pay EVERYTHING in cash. Leave your credit cards back in your room safe. Take a copy of your ID and leave that too.

Change money to DOP. You can pay some places and girls in USD, but it will be higher, plus is screams gringo. Airport exchange gives fair exchange rates.

Get a lay of the land. Scout the places you want to visit in Google maps "street view" before you go, especially the places you intend to walk to.

Get Whatsapp #'s of any Chicas you like, and try to get them to your hotel the next day. Average $3000-$4000.

FYI, my friend and I are both seasoned mongers and have been to SD before, but it's been 6+ years so I'm doing my homework again. We are not into networking on social media for semi-pros, we rather hit the casas, MP's, Strip Clubs or street walkers for short sessions.

We are staying at Hotel Shakay on Av. George Washington & Pasteur near the Crown Plaza. Stayed here last trip and liked it. Nice apartment style hotel that is guest friendly and has security to check the ID's. We got a 2-bed apartment for US $135 a night. Av. Pasteur used to have a few casas but according to the forum, seems they have closed. Still, the hotel is a 5-minute walk from Jaguar, a 15-minute walk to Oasis, with some street action in front late at night.

OldKool, it's likely that we're using the same Uber driver, and if not, there must be quite a few trustworthy Uber drivers in SD. The Uber driver that I have had for the past 3 yrs or so, is exceptionally good, speaks English, and has become more of a friend to me. Right after the pandemic, and before Uber drivers in SD started complaining about the low fares around 800 pesos at the time, from the airport to downtown and vice-versa, I was already paying him 1,500 pesos, more than the going rate. And, this was after I found him to be a genuinely good person after my very first two rides with him. Now, generally he doesn't tell me how much to pay for a ride, but I give him 2,000 pesos for my, to-and-fro airport rides. I usually let him know when my flight will arrive SDQ, and he would be right there to pick me up, irrespective of the flight arrival time. He is originally from Barahona, been living in the capital for a long time, knows the city intimately well, and he takes me to the best eateries, especially before we get to Airbnb, if I am on a night arriving flight. I've been on this site for almost a decade now, and I am embarrassed to say that I have never had to PM someone before, nor do I even know how to do so. Otherwise, I would've PM the veteran DCups, the driver's WhatsApp contact number. OldKool, digressing from this topic, I know from your previous writeups that I, like you, had the best of the Dominican Cupid experience, many, many years ago. Back then, it was quite easy to find GFE on Dominican Cupid, especially those from outside of the capital, who when imported to the capital, were always greatly appreciative of the quality time spent in the city with a gringo. After my arrival I asked her to come to my Airbnb apartment, but first, that I needed to know what she expects me to give her for her time and having fun with me. She responded that she would be okay with whatever I gave her. I insisted but she would give me an amount. While this was going on, I had already given her the address of the Airbnb apartment where I was staying. Suddenly, the security guard at the lobby called me to announce that a girl was waiting for me in the lobby. I went down to the lobby and took her to my apartment. First thing first, unlike her photos I had seen, she looked gigantic with seemingly rough edges for my liking. It was instantly a turnoff. Still I needed an off-ramp to ditch her, and the price for her time was handy, so I again asked her price, and that I wasn't ready to have sex with her until she told me. I told her to send the price to me in WhatsApp. Lo and behold, she sent $400.00 emphasizing the American dollars, as her price. Mindful not to create any regrettable scene, I immediately told her, without any explanation, that we needed to go down to the lobby. While in the lobby, and in the presence of the security guard, I gave her 500 pesos and asked her to order for a taxi back home, and that I was not ready to give her $400.00 USA Dollars, which is more than 22,000 pesos, at 56 pesos / you. S dollar, just to have sex with her. Even the security guard was stupefied of the requested amount and made it known to the woman, which was my intended effect. Folks, always plan to be a step ahead, and ensuring unpleasant scenes are, at the most, avoided in this our hobby. Some of these women / our clients have no dignity to lose.
