After arriving in MDE last week, I stayed at the Nutibara hotel. The hotel is ok but I bailed after 4 nights due to the noise from the disco etc. You can bring in a guest for a few hours with no charge. If they stay overnight, 40, 000 pesos. I could have relocated to another room but wanted to view other options. My bed was like sleeping on a covered board, probably just an isolated incident? Perks. In room safe, A/C, no internet in room. Internet cafe on first floor.
Hotel Internacional (not the International a different place). Is cheap ($45/night). Don't expect much. It appeared safe but the single room was just enough room to turn around in. Had to turn sideways to get into the bathroom and I'am not a big guy. This would be a good place to have a secondary room just for your romps if you have someone special and want to keep your escapades away from prying eyes.
Hotel Gran, www.Granhotel. Com, same rate as Nutibara, $56/night. The rooms are about the same size as in Nutibara but not quite as noisy. No A/C in my room but I don't need it, adjustable slated windows for ventilation, balcony. Rotating fan in room if needed, in room Wi-Fi that's a plus. Safe in room also. Not sure about chica fees? I had one visitor in twice so far staying a few hours each visit and no questions were asked. It may be because it was the same woman vs. Different women. I took the mentality don't ask if I can bring in a friend, just do it and see what happens. After I have a visitor overnight, I'll report back.
Had plans to visit some of the old spots but just have not gotten around to it. My Spanish is a bit better now and opportunities are everywhere. Most women here have the same complaint, Colombian men have too many women and Americans are perceived as treating them better.
Enjoy!

Posts: 419Apartment in Envigado-$11US a day !
Hi guys,
I'm buying a house in Tampa, Fl and will be travelling back and forth more often, so in addition to My Place, my house (Mi Casa) in Envigado will also be available. You can now have the comfort of peaceful surroundings, but with access to all the hot spots. Mi Casa has the 2 main bus routes going to El Poblado and El Centro right accross the street along with a taxi stop also accross the street.
You'll be surrounded by beautiful green vegetation, flowers and your typical "girl next door", but Paisa! Apartment includes 2 rooms and 2 baths, 21" color TV's, cable, 24/7 News Channels (CNN, FOX), Wifi Internet, etc.
Perfect for 2 friends at $350US each, $700US total a month. At $11US and change a day you'll be making a killing. Even if 2 of you stay 2 weeks it will cost you just $23US and change each, can't beat that. Three weeks would run you $16US and change a day each.
One month, minimum reservation accepted. Full payment of $700US in advance to one of my US accounts. PM me directly for info. And pics. Make your reservations NOW! Pics. Attached!

Has anyone stayed at the Internacional Hotel, Calle 52,46-55 in Medellin? If so, how is it? I could not locate much on a search, it could be operator error:)
Thanks

When you find out, can you also let us know the following:
1.) What are the approx dimensions of a standard room? (of if no idea, maybe a description of small/cramped vs. medium vs. large/spacious for the size of the room will do)
2.) Do they have queen sized beds or better in single standard rooms?
3.) Will they be okay w/ chicas and do they charge you a fine if you bring one?

Posts: 64Were you replying to me or the original poster? I wasn't sure since you replied to me. I do not know the original poster and he is not my friend. Hence me saying 'if what you are saying is true'. I think everyone knows there are two stories and what is true is usually somewhere in the middle. I didn't see anything negative in his post other than he had a horrible experience. No reason to not allow people posting their experiences whether good or bad. And I also know the people you mentioned.

The renter shouldn't arrive to see a place in bad condition and be offered a discount! Most are on vacation and don't have time to deal with this mess. They don't want to save a couple of dollars from a crappy place. They are on vacation and want to enjoy themselves!
Since I was looking for a place too, I did a lot of research and found that most rental places are not reliable in regard to the condition of the apartment. Only exception might be reviews of a specific unit. This is why I find that I will NEVER pay in advance for the rental of apartment (more than a day or two). I will go there myself and inspect the apartment.
My 2 cents.
