I've gained weight, clearly less exercise and a lack of FKK trips. But still can't find motivation to join SA. Why?

For me FKK isn't just a hunt for a stunner. It's relaxing and therapeutic experience. A newbie reading pre-covid FKK posts might get an impression that mongers only went there to fuck. Regardless of their work or class, we gathered there for our favorite hobby. We talked about things we could never say to a wife or a close friend at home.

We escaped annoying, dry as dust boredom. For some it was wife, for others work, whatever. We had sense of freedom and mega atmosphere of naked, smiling, willing girls, fucking, dancing, hugging and kissing by our favorite 50 euro friends, sitting on our lap and whispering dirty words in our ear.

And then we went up the stairs, with her sexy ass in front of you, a close display on our way to the room..

I didn't say the United States had the highest per-capita income, I said it had one of the highest, which it does.

And that is of course distorted by the fact that the USA Has a heavy distortion of its income being earned by the top percentile. Not just the 1 percent as demagogues like Bernie claim, but some reasonable percentage. And that reasonable percentage of high earners likely makes more per person than most any country in the world.

And it is not entirely because of structural unfairness like demagogues Bernie and Trump claim. I am not sure which of them I dislike more, Bernie, who is old enough to know better than to give candy to children who need a solid meal, or Trump, who doesn't care about the consequences of giving guns and knives to the deranged.

Although the USA Does have structural unfairness that it would be nice to change, the USA Also has a large underclass that refuses to adapt. The ones who do adapt often do fine economically. When USA Factory work started being more heavily outsourced and automated, largely due to unrealistic demands of unions, the folks who went into construction, transportation, or handling the computers in the factories usually did very well financially. The ones who didn't adapt (who likely weren't the best factory workers anyway) haven't done as well.

And it shows up in sex work. Some predicted that independent escort rates would go down when the government attacked Backpage and other low-cost, efficient mass advertising sites, as it was predicted that lower cost (former Backpage) providers would get websites, use cell phones, and do screening to operate, and being accustomed to lower rates, they would charge less. But the USA Continues to have one of the very highest per-capita income and per-capita wealth levels in the world.

It has done quite well since Ross Perot had his moment, but that increase has flowed most heavily to holders of capital and to skilled service providers and / or service providers who need to be present and nearby when the service is performed, including bankers, plumbers and sex workers.

And you are also absolutely right about the impact that technology and globalization have had on middle and lower wage earners.

Ross Perot was a protectionist. If I remember correctly he ran in 1992, the same year as Pat Buchanan. They were obverse sides of the same coin. Buchanan was the forerunner of today's Trump. Perot did not have the cultural appeal to today's Trumpers but had the same protectionist zeal. As it were, Buchanan lost in the primaries to Bush and Perot got 20% in the general. Till date, GOPers blame Perot for electing Clinton. Combine Perot and Buchanan into the same person, throw in a bit of Lou Dobbs and you are not too far from Trump.

There was a guy called Spencer Johnson that wrote some book called who moved my cheese. NYT's Tom Friedman plagiarized some of those themes and built his pet theories on globAlization and tech in 2000 itself if I recall right. Friedman tends to be a pedagogical leftist for my taste many times but he got the core ideas right.

And despite Trump's desperate attempts to reverse this globalization trend, not much has changed. Once the genie is out of the bottle, it is difficult If not impossible to put it back. In this pandemic, this trend has only accelerated. And with that, the difference between haves and have nots has expanded too. Some people are rooted in their homes, jobs and community and social identity; but a huge number have precarious addresses, income, no social identity that comes with steady job, no health care, what they perceive as their way of life or expectations being a cruel hoax. For the purposes of this discussion, they have little or no health care, and very little to lose (which explains the rise of the demagogue class we have today, aka Mr Trump and also had in 1930's in Germany. It is crude, but that's the basic cutaway. The precarious class are worried about next weeks rent and food and see those lecturing from their comfy homes as patronizing and out of touch.

That is what the screaming is about. The polarization is money and opportunity to have decent life. Those that have and those that do not. No amount of platitudes can fix it. The root issue is too much population in a post employment world, globalization (aka importing poverty) automation and how the pie gets carved up and taxed. I beg to differ. Perhaps in areas like California and NY where most of the rich are liberals and the perception of Trumpers are the dumb and poor, it is quite the opposite in much of the rest of the USA. In the American south and midwest, Trump land, the wealthy and upper middle class tend to be Trump voters while the few ethnic minorities and the young tend to be liberal agenda voters. This observation lets me know that opportunity and dire lack of money is not the driving force of strife in all regions, at least not the perception that Trumpers are mad because they are hurting economically, quite the opposite in my geographic region. The Trumper gripe here is more cultural. Yes, some Trumpers will nominally say that Trump has given them tax cuts, raise the GDP, raise the SP500, and that healthcare premiums are too high because of socialist Obamacare blah blah blah. That's all just talking points spoken in public but the reality is that they are sick and tired of the sensational liberal message telling them that they are racist oppressors and that everyone needs to accept moral messages like transgender kindergarteners being a perfectly normal and natural phenomenon.
