First of all, a big "thank you" to BoomBoom0,without whose invaluable information, I would never have been able to find this place.

His descriptions in post #162 and #165 are very accurate, and indeed very well describe the location and nature of this place.

I can confirm that action only takes place in the evening-I drove by this stretch of Sithong Road once during the day and all the places were completely deserted.

The whole area is clearly aimed at the locals, not tourists, and no one that I had interacted with spoke a lick of English. I also did not see any non-Lao people when I was in that area.

I had intentionally picked a hotel within walking distance of Sithong Rd, so after a 20 minute walk in the dark (which in no way felt unsafe, although pavements are lacking in Laos, so watch the traffic) I made my way to the designated area. I estimate that it is a mix of 60% Vietnamese brothels, and 40% Lao. It is fairly easy to tell them apart, as the Viet girls have fairer skin and are much more active at calling out to you as you walk by trying to wave you in (I guess when they see a single older white guy walking by at this time of the day, it is pretty obvious why he is there). The Lao girls are much more shy and the only person who would sometimes call out would be the mamasan.

The brothels are indeed mixed in on both sides of the road with regular business. In that area I would estimate there is a total of about 10 brothels, on average with 5-9 girls in each. The girls are usually sitting outside, so if you walk really slowly, you can check them out pretty well just by walking by (that is what I did). There is no need to it down and buy a drink.

Since I was in Laos, I wanted to go for a Lao girl, and one of them did catch my eye. Was just my type, although I would describe her as cute rather than a stunner (having said that, none of the girls in that area were the stunner type). I stopped, looked at the girl, then approached the mamasan (who funnily enough, was also manning the noodle soup stand). I pointed at the girl and gave her my phone to put in the price. She put in 150 000 kip, which per BoomBoom0's post is already on the lower end of the scale so I just nodded yes and gave her the cash. She kept 50 000 for herself and gave 100 000 to the girl.

She led me to a room in the back, into the most hardcore mongering experience of my career. It was just a room with concrete cider block walls and unfinished wooden floor covered by an aluminum roof. There were a few very thin, dirty futons on the floor. Having said that, the girl was very clean, with no funny smells. She insisted on full lights out for the sex, so visuals were limited. However, her body was fantastic, thin, firm with nice small perky boobs. BJ was not offered (which I think is the norm in Laos brothels), but she was affectionate in a shy kind of way, with lots of hugging and light kissing in the lips. Petrolimex Gas Station (17.9761499, 102.5914592) The first Vietnamese shop is just next to it (to its left).

Animal Care Center (17.9794803, 102.5868066) The first shop (and most expensive looking) is just in front of it.

I've seen at least two dental clinics here as well, so if you also need dental work hehe.

Range for LT I'm guessing is 300,000-600,000. Always ask and negotiate.

Viet girls are also for pick up. Yes, just sit down and ask for beer. If the girl that sit with you, you not like, just point finger who you like. They maybe shy because you are foreigner, So if nobody come, you initiate. For a working girl ask for " Pu-sau" (in Lao language). Just be relaxed it is the function of the place. You are not asking for something unusual.

Sorry about mistake (damn it). Yes "Soi Setti". I was giving instruction according to places marked on google maps. There is only 1 gas station between Soi setti and asean Road. So yes, it is right hand side (towards asean Road.) Though as I mentioned there are some places in the 100 meter zone left of Soi Setti.

I went and explored it. That's a 600 m strip of Sithong Rd that has developed into a full on red light district. Activity stars from 19:00.

The "strip" is roughly between the first gas station from ASEAN road, and 100 m after Soi Satti. (Both are on GM).

It is a mix of small Vietnamese brothels, Lao hostess bars and massage parlors. And in between are normal shops (restaurants, dentist clinic etc). You"ll identify the right places because the girls are sitting / standing in the front (nobody is hiding in the back, like in some places in LP)..

There are two spots I'd recommend on the north side of town:

1. A cluster of 4 adjacent bars on Chou Anou Rd. It's few kilometers out of town so you need to make sure you've got a scooter / car, but well worth it. Great selection. Exact coordinates are 18.030708, 102.625696.

2. Many bars along Sithong Rd between Asian Rd and the connector that joins Sithong to Asean. Rough coordinates are 17.978719, 102.587877.

From shabby looking "shops" to the last one after Soi Satti, which is fancy looking (glass doors, all purple neon lighting, Chinese text, girls very dolled up). Expect the prices to be accordingly. (150,000-400,000 for st).

While the Vietnamese are ages 22-30. The lao hostess bars and MPs are mostly not age of Majority. Some were 18+ (I had some beers and asked the girls who looked it) but most, without even needing to ask, easily can see they are not (was sad and shocking to me).

Agree with B/ Dog.

Lao ladies are very sweet (if you can find one with reasonable English skills). In general, English is fragmentary.

As Dog says, prices are not cheaper.

As an aside, the plethora of massage places in and around the tourist areas now have a number of girls who are now more inclined to offer extra service if you ask for it (but you should ask discreetly). You may not get it on your first visit but if you return and they become comfortable with you it is much more likely.

No idea, but my guess would be the Last Resort near the Mecure. Haven't been there for a few years now but it's big enough and dodgy enough to be this place. It's run by 4 relatives who are in the army and police force, so they get away with more than others would do.
