Its not quite clear if you consider Thermae visits successful.

Girls have sloppy bodies, or big implants, some don't like Farangs, some are awaiting their Japanese regulars, they are scared to be penetrated and stiffen up, they don't like kissing or they don't like DATY, they are not capable of an expert BJ, and whoops I was expecting at least an hour session. But no regrets. I guess my point is everyone has a different worldview on being here. Me, its a beautiful country with beautiful people and fabulous food and I can go out anytime I want and bag a girl that suits my eye and spend far less than I do in the states. Last night I dropped about $100 and drank myself silly too (you know what drinks cost in Spasso). If I had found the right one there would have cost me $100 more. Its all about expectations. I know how it feels to be a tourist here and know how it feels to live here too. Each has its moments. Enjoy life, its short.

This is an interesting point. I long maintained that our eyes and perception changed. I don't see girls the same way you do at all, e. G. HK girls are not that pretty for me, generally, and chinese tourist girls draw my eyes at all. So okay Chinese is not my favourite (unless Shu Qi standard LOL. Michelle Yeoh and Lucy Liu quite ugly to me). However there is no doubt that my taste changed a lot. It is easy to look back at my photos from 15 to 25 years ago, and ask myself, "Did I really choose that girl and think she was superior looking at the time?" Not many guys seemed to want to admit that they became much more fussy than before and the girl looks. Good observations Syzygies. And I can empathize truly here. But the reality is whether you accept it or not, change will continue to happen. You may not accept or understand it, but you have to embrace and adapt to it. That is the only way forward.

I am a huge fan of rock and metal. The 60's and 70's represented everything for me. I enjoy hearing the songs being played in some bars and clubs occasionally. But I cannot expect that every bar will play these songs. So I try to develop an ear for Hip Hop, House and are&be. Hell, I even try listening to Rap. Because that is what will help me get along with the crowd and eventually have a good time.

My interests in Thailand have broadened over the past several years and it has more to offer me than just poontang. You young guys can fight with the Asians and Indians and worry about it, me, I'm content.

This is another way to look at things. No judgement. More power to you sir.

And for that matter, not all change is good. Personally as a long term resident I agree with Syz, there have been no positive changes in the Thailand P4 P scene in the last 10 years. So some questions: are there more gals about? are they giving better service? do they have better attitudes? what's their price? is it the same or less work to get them? I'll answer, the gals are bigger, less attractive, there are fewer of them, it's far more expensive, it is more work to find a good one, and overall the service level is a bit less.
Add in an extremely friendly cost of living in Thailand and you had one amazing place to live. All of this combined is why many of us moved here. Did we expect it not to change? Of course not. We were not daft. All of us knew it would change. However, we come from Western nations where the pace of change is far slower than that of a developing nation, and so did not expect such radical shifts in the things we so loved about the place in such a short period of time. Bangkok has changed more in the last 10 years than my home state in the US has in 30.
