During the Cold War, USA did not tolerate USSR military build-up in Cuba or even clandestine USSR influence in Granada. So Australia and its senior partner's behavior are in line with great power politics. But as you said, fortunately it is still all talk. I do not envision Australia launching a "special military operation" against Solomon Islands anytime soon.

Point is that what Solomon Islands wants is secondary. And Australia is worried about its security, despite their being no active Chinese military forces pointing weapons at them. Simply having China operating in their backyard is considered a security threat and "red line" to Australia. China must know that encroaching further could provoke a possible military response. And if there is a response, and a proxy war, it would harm the people of the Solomon Islands most. Proxy wars are better than the alternative: two nuclear-armed powers fighting against each other in a hot war.
But I suspect there will be lots of Chinese special agents in Caledonia when they vote for independence next time.

Well knowing Chinas lust for coral islands and reefs, we really should define the distance between the closest Solomon island to Willis islets: which is actually inhabitant and last time I checked Australian. Unless there were Chinese fishermen there long long time ago. Before the reef appeared.

For reference, this makes the distance more like 1200 km. Not 2000 km.

I also do not see the good and evil side. Most nations do a lot of shitty things although I think Western EU nations these days do a little less evil.

All your points are fair but I think my original point was that when it comes to positioning for power, western nations do not directly militarily engage with other strong powers. They do so through cultural and economic influence and Russia's methods of addressing their security concerns is like that of a sore loser who flips the game board when he's losing.

Apartments are perfectly safe, especially all the bordellos apartments in the West. This is Berlin not NY, London, Moscow. Plus, as any local can tell you, there have been a number of "incidents" in Camp Artemis- a few parking lot shootings by disgruntled guests, the insane Police raid where all IDs were checked for hours, some bad zimmer scenes, and the occasional mini brawls with security. Nothing is perfectly safe, not even walking the street. Every place has its own risks. And for those of you who think, you are young, healthy, fully vaccinated with booster, and thus you cannot get seriously sick, then you do not understand science or hard data. When you add all up, the Covid risks, the costs, the quality, it is simply too soon to go to A. Look at prices and choices on e. G. Berlinintim website, so at least you can compare.

I think it is cute that you link cherry picked western news media articles to somehow support your CCP propaganda. See, a western person could not do that to you, I. E. Provide a link to a Chinese media article to support the western argument. For the simple reason that anyone who dares to move his lips in even slight oblique criticism of CCP is silenced immediately. I am glad you found your way out of that land and enjoying the fruits of western freedom and are able to freely spread the CCP propaganda against the same west.

How is the zero Covid policy? I heard 4 million cases and only 2 deaths. Amazing natural immunity the Chinese seem to have. Very believable too. As credible as the CCP published stats about China's GDP..

The past 77 years are a testament to that reality with even the Cold War leading to only proxy wars at worst.
North Korea will drop it on themselves when they launch it LOL! But Russia may use mini strategic nuke to make a point, then I wonder what Biden would do, be a chicken as usual, though it is difficult decision to make to retaliate or let it pass then China will see it as the strategy it will work!

A PE manager Shaan dared to speak a few words on camera about the true state of affairs in China. Poor fella, didn't know he was files filmed. Now he is headed in the same direction of Jack Ma and worse.

The incorporation of Russian-bordering nations into NATO was won by western political-economic influence rather than by hostility or aggression. It's like Russia is losing a board game and is now deciding to flip the whole game board over because they can't win by the rules and maintaining decorum.
