If you have any kind of balls the scammers avoid you. I have been to Sosua more times then I can count. Bedded a few 100 girls and have had 3 bad experiences. The vast majority of girls are part timers that show up on the weekends. Many are teachers, nurses and good moms. If you chose a hardcore pro most of the time you get what you pay for. However after many years on the stroll they will rip you off if you are slipping. Getting drunk or to high is a great way to get rolled. Sosua is a week end party now. Most girls roll in on Thursdays and out Sunday. They are not looking for problems. Mr E seems to like the cheap pussy which is where the scammers are. The government provides no help and their families are poor. I do not look down on them. No women wants to sell her body but hard time makes tough decisions necessary. Sosua ebbs and flows on quality but there are always new gems rolling in to get some change in their pockets.

Human nature being what it is, folks will usually find what they look for in a place. Some will even will it to happen so it validates their stereotype, and not just mongers.

Case in point I was having lunch at the Roger, and chatting to a retired guy from the UK. Who was there with his wife. I noticed she was antsy about something and kept looking at her watch, so I asked what it was, she said she was waiting for the milk for her tea, or something minor like that, she had ordered. I saw the server running around and not paying attention, so I stood up and went to walk over to remind her. NO. No. She said, It's been 20 minutes, and I'm waiting to see just how it takes them. I 've never been scammed or ripped off in DR, but early on It did costs me an extra 400 pesos to get a chica out of my room at the Terra Linda Hotel. It was my own dumb fault. But you're partially right that it has to do with location (the Americas). But "Latin America" is NOT even a real geographical location but a language / cultural zone.

For starters I'm of generational mixed race descent (black and white). Hey listen if you go on the African or any other black race thread dude you'll find a gazillion of these postings.
