You are correct. You essentially need to ASK both the owner and the building for their policies. Most owners already know why you are asking so be clear with them: you plan on bringing back visitors at night. If they have an issue with that either don't rent from them or go to a short time hotel. Dozens of them in the old city.
These policies may change at the last minute. Usually all it takes is one person to cause a problem and the rules get suddenly changed.

I think I've read here that hotels in Cartagena do not allow overnight guests. But someone here said that he thought a new hotel might. I sent a note to this new hotel and they said that an overnight guest would be ok BUT THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE OF $80 US!
So I went the Airbnb route. Airbnb makes it easy to correspond with the owners / managers of accommodations you are considering. So I sent a note to a number of owners / managers (thank you cut and paste) telling them in polite and diplomatic language that I needed to bring in girls from time to time, maybe overnight maybe not, and would that be ok. You have to make sure that you are asking about the policy of the owner / manager AND the policy of the building. Someone in one of the Colombia threads reported having an ok from the owner / manager but could not get a girl past building security. Hopefully a bribe would take care of that situation in most cases. I want to figure out how to tell a security guy in Spanish that I want him to ask any girl I bring back for her ID and either keep it until she leaves or copy down all of the important info.
Good Luck. Please remember to report on both Cartagena in general and on your mongering conquests. Bob.

Posts: 8During a trip to CTG, a buddy of mine got quoted the same price (250) by some guy from Uber. I got it down to 180, including picking up girl, waiting, and staying until we left. Always helps if girls haggle down price for you haha.

Posts: 8Don't know if anyone mentioned before this post, but Atlanta is now getting a direct flight to FLL through JetBlue, which makes getting to CTG a lot easier if you live in that area.

Hi Cartagena Experts,
What would you recommend for 4 days?
AirBNB or Hotels. I know for a fact that hotels may be cautious with admitting escorts. What you guys normally stick to?
Thanks.

I will be going Panama in February plus I've been there 6 times already and I want to try something new.
Is it still best to rent a condo from Juan?

Posts: 40Panama vs Cartagena December 26-January 1
Hey guys,
Where will it be less dead the last week of December? I'm looking to go somewhere December 26 to January 1st. I've been to Panama a bunch of time and I loved it but I've never been right after Christmas. I don't want to be disappointed.
How is Cartagena during this time?
Where will there be more girls?
Thanks.

Posts: 1320It's not very relevant how it is legal or not. Certain things are allowed everywhere to exercise control over the scene and to advance higher purpose in many cases, including whatever occurs at certain private residences. It's just dumb to see everything at its face value, especially in Colombia. Everyone can unbundle the advertised package and arrange for a similar experience at a lower price, without prepayment and without a group risk.

Should it be real, my educated guess is that there's high chance of a raid by Colombia police on their first days of operation, as soon as it's full of silly rich tourists (there are not pirate islands out of any country jurisdiction).
P.S.:
Actually, there is a place in Cartagena, where girls and drugs are on free flow, but it's not advertised openly, and only guys from a CERTAIN country are allowed to spend holidays there. Guess what? Casa.... :) I know you know that place. Police does not pass the security wall, and for those inside it's like Colombia jurisdiction is left outside.
