    Ley Seca

This coming weekend all bars will close and liquor sales stop at 6 pm on March 12.

Bars can reopen and liquor sales resume at 6 am on Monday March 14.

    Plan accordingly.

I stayed there on my first trip to Medellin last year. I was able to lock it up fairly last minute too. Nice apartment on the 2nd floor. I didn't have the view but I had a huge balcony. The apartment was clean and well maintained. It had a washer / dryer in it. The owner was very helpful and replied to messages quickly. No problem bringing chicas in as long as they had ID and no additional cost. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was too far away from Laureles and Centro which is where I ended up hanging out a lot. On busy traffic days it was like a 30 minute Uber or more.

I am planning a trip in April. I like the idea of having a secure hotel. I am curious if any of the bigger hotel chains (Marriott or Sheraton) are friendly to girls or is there a way to talk to the front desk Otherwise, any advice is appreciated.

I am also curious the best way to find girls? I have heard a few websites are helpful but are there better ways? If anyone can pass along some contact info I would be very grateful.

Also happy to meet some new friends if anyone is in town.

Your size is a definite advantage

Thanks for the info, Drifts. I'm heading to MDE this week, determined to give La Isla the best shot I can. But I am curious. What times did you hit up the Centro strip clubs? I've never ventured to Centro. Many of the posts here scare me. LOL. And I do not scare easy. (I often roam the streets in zona norte in Tijuana at 3 AM.) I believe it's just fear of the unknown. I'm clearly gringo. I travel alone. I am a big guy, which is to say a fat ass. I think many mistake my size for muscle. Hahaha So I know that plays in my favor. I'm also very alert. But my biggest concern is leaving a centro bar in the wee hours after drinking.

    In your opinion, safe?
The average Colombian male is much smaller than the average American male. And even in groups that stalk, those who look for prey in the wee hours of El Centro look for the weaker, smaller types. With that said, if you are staggering drunk, that can you get you rolled in heartbeat.

Don't venture out late at night with any obvious bulges in your pockets, especially a visible cell phone. You will probably not get injured or killed over a cell phone but they can snatch and grab, and run away before you know what happened.

A lot of it is vibe, attitude and awareness.

Let me share an unbelievable example. My Numero Uno Catgirl and her novia were spending the night with me at The Nutti, a landmark hotel in the heart of El Centro. The time was 2:30 AM, I was getting a double blowjob, and all three of us were pretty fuckin' high on the pink shit. Without warning, Cricket (her novia) bolts up and starts speaking to Catgirl that they need to go deliver some food to her cousin who is a homeless person on the street. Both of these girls are well under five feet tall, and under 100 pounds. See photos.

What happened next was as surreal as anything I saw in the movie Apocalypse Now. They were going to go alone without hesitation, but for protection I offered to accompany them. In hindsight, I may have increased our risk with my presence because I don't blend in. But I am also rarely mistaken for a gringo.

The night was cool and misty. First stop, a 24-hour restaurant across the main road to buy a dinner for take-out. Then we proceeded to walk for about twenty minutes, in the worst direction you can from the Nutibara. Lots of people huddled in circles doing drugs, homeless people everywhere. We reached our destination point and Cricket started approaching strangers and asking for her cousin by name. They would point to another circle of drug users hunched on the ground, smoking I don't know what. After the third group, someone pointed us to a building with a sliding metal door-front. We walked over there and said the girl's name again and a guy leaning against the bricks reached down and tossed the door up and open.

A very small girl, same size as Cricket and Catgirl, came scurrying out like an animal, bent over at the waist. She was dirty, with matted hair, tiny cut-off shorts, barefoot, and a midriff shirt that showed her flat belly. Physically, she appeared to be in good condition. She was cute, just like Catgirl and Cricket. She behaved more like a ferral animal than a human, first circling us and then slowly approaching after she sensed no threat.

She politely took the food in the white plastic bag from Cricket and chatted her up. I reached in my pocket to give her some money, but Catgirl gently and firmly grabbed my wrist and said, "No, don't do it, she will just spend it on drugs."

Just as quickly, she disappeared back into the dark hole of the building and the door slid closed. We walked purposefully but not urgently back to the hotel. We got a lot of glances, but no one hassled us and I never felt threatened.

Take home points: Don't have a visible phone on you or anything that appears valuable. Don't act paranoid, scared, arrogant or stand out any more than you naturally do. As I wrote in the beginning, I believe those two tiny chicas would have been just as safe if not safer without me, at 3 AM, walking the streets in one of the worst sections of El Centro. Looking like a gringo will always increase your risk. Don't go out like we did, unless you are with locals or have a reason worth the risk. Most of the actual crimes are not violent, but if they have a gun, they will shoot you in the face at the slightest resistance, including if you simply say "no". Fun times.

When we got back to our room I felt like I was just in a dream. I was amazed about how safe I felt the entire time. Maybe we were just lucky, but my chicas had no fear and acted as though the entire affair was routine. Mind blown, for the thousandth time in Medellin.

I can see how jacuzzis would be fun as long as you aren't the one who has to clean it.

The hot tub big enough for 3 (maybe 4, I am a large dude) with a depth of about 3 feet. I enjoyed it a lot YMMV. The water got scolding hot and I almost got burnt once not being careful. The image attached is from the rental website and shows the hot tub in the apartment. I really enjoyed the apartment, I had pretty good budget for this trip so $60 per day was very worthwhile.

Ask the door guy to flag down a taxi for you then get in it as soon as you leave the club. You will be OK. There are usually taxis waiting outside the places once the other business shut down just after 7 PM or so.

The Gringo Inn was hit by armed robbers. I assume they since upgraded their security.

Hotel M. One room has a balcony. KI don't remember the number. But otherwise, you are welcome to smoke out by the pool. It's a converted house, so all is enclosed and safe.

I don't really know if it is safe. Man. Because I don't know if police do their job. I was in safest neighborhood, laurels. Under the security camera. And the polices tell me to bribe them outside of the camera range. So. Maybe centro will be safer with so many witnesses. But I don't really know. Pm me for more.

    Poblado or Laureles

    Does anyone have other recommendations?

Any experiences with smoking up in the Hotel M?.
Very well, I'll share my opinions. I wouldn't stay in Poblado for a number of reasons. It will cost you more. There are many restaurants around there and they are more expensive as well.

The Mansion is a popular option for non Spanish speakers that don't have the adventurous spirit. The rooms are $100 a night (or more) and most are adequate but not much more than that. The same rooms at other hotels would run you $30 a night. Of course they have a pool with cold water and a bar and a lot of regular prepagos that hang. I guess that is what you are paying for.

Admittedly there are more English speaking staff in that area. But the Lleras girls want more money because they know that is the tourist area for guys who don't know better. Maybe you think you can avoid that problem by importing your talent through FaceBook. But those girls live in outlying areas (Bello for example) and they will be taking a cab and they will be late because they never consider how long the trip will take. They will want more too because they know you're staying in Poblado so in their mind you must be rich. Poblado has many steep hills so walking around a lot can be exhausting.

Laureles on the other hand has tons of hotels and apartments. They will be a lot less expensive. The Parque Laureles area (Primero Parque and Segundo Parque) are loaded with nice restaurants that will cost you 25-40% less than the equivalent restaurants in Poblado. There are also tons of cheap eating places in Laureles. The girls from FaceBook or Photoprepagos or Mileroticos will be arriving faster and less expensively from those same outlying areas. They won't expect to charge you the gringo premium because you aren't staying in Poblado. Although the mere fact that you are a gringo will mean they will expect some premium over the locals. Laureles is flat, so walking around is easy-peasy. There is a convenient Metro station on 'La Sententa' near the stadium.

If there is a drawback to Laureles. I would say that there are less English speaking staffers at the hotels and restaurants but there are more and more English speakers staying in Laureles these days so that is changing all the time.

    Wingmen and Unhealthy trends

This forum educated me on both the basic and finer points of mongering in Medellin. I passed it on a few newbies over the past year and it has been a positive experience.

There are a couple of disturbing trends I am hearing recently. Some newbies not RTFFing / wanting everything handed to them on a platter including negotiating the pricing, finding the right fb girls. This level of hand holding is fucking lazy. Do your homework please.

On the other hand, there are veteran mongers pawning off bad chicas, promising finca visits, etc. When the newbies fly in to Rio negro, veterans do not have time or inclination to help. If you cannot show the guy around the city, just say so. Do not jerk him around.

If you're going to one of the 3 most popular strip clubs in El Centro, you should have no difficulty getting a taxi right outside. That would be Barra Ejecutiva, Conejitas and Grill Nuevo.

I've left all 3 late at night with no problems. However, I don't drink much, especially in El Centro at night.

I've definitely never paid a peso extra for it or any other extra in Medellin for that matter. I just go with the flow and bring up my likes for sex during convo. The ones who did BBFS with me either waved away the condoms or jumped on me before I had a chance to say anything. From my small but growing samples size, I've found that the young moms tend to do it more readily than the girls without kids. Seems like waving money around can help too but I can't speak to that personally.
I think you're right Recondite on your initial comments on educated and liking the guy. All the girls I have has BBFS in South America were only happy to offer it after meeting me, which to be fair to them is understandable. Obviously that is not to say that you can judge 100% that someone is safe or not. But a judgement of character counts for a lot, for both parties, most of the time. Generally speaking, I am cautious about BBFS given the risks, but most cases I've had it with escorts, we've both provided certification upfront. This obviously won't be the case in Colombia with these girls but I'll see how it goes when I am out there. Just reading and commenting on the Bogotá board, it does seem to be more widely available than I first thought.

She said no condom got to give her tip. I tip her for BBBJ. She thought I was going to fuck her without condom. Hell no. The centro strip club is the best. Better than la isla. Altho many girls at centro strip clubs has belly. They are still hot. And more importantly, they know how to dance. And the atmosphere just better. No cover fee. Beers are reasonable price. 10 k. 8 k. Not 30 k at la Isla. La Isla you are not close to the stage. And girls came over every minutes. Your wallet will empty in no time. I might going back to centro tomorrow. I need centro brothers. Now I realize people can easily tells I am gringo even with my caps on. Damn.
