Having returning a couple of weeks ago from Vilamoura / Quarterira I thought I'd give a summary round up of the scene.

Me and my golf buddies have been going to the area every once if not twice every year for the last 5-6 generally in June or September. Sad to say the standard and range of options has fallen off dramatically in the last 12 months. Anecdotally this is due to the local authority clamping down on the clubs. Also a purge by the immigration authorities on illegal Brazilian workers.

Firstly, the clubs. My favourite was always Sunset just behind the Marina in Vilamoura. There you could have whatever you wanted from reasonable drinks and chats with the girls, to a lapdance to a girl back to your hotel. Sadly it is now a sports bar! It apparently was employing lots of illegal Brazilian workers. After Sunset we always went to CATS which is where we spent at least one night and sometimes more. It's really just a bar below the Luna Hotel again behind the Marina. The drinks aren't too expensive and some of the girls are 10's and the vibe is great fun. The takeout price often started at 300/ hour but we generally got away with paying 100/ hour or less for 2-3 hours. After theses 2 we always spent at least one night in the Sanmar. This is a club 2-3 miles from Vilamoura where the girls all have their own rooms so really just a brothel with a bar (terma in Brazil). In the past the standard of girls was always very good 8 or 9 and the service though expensive was excellent. This time though things were very different. Generally the girls were pretty with good bodies but few under 30. From the minute we arrived there was a hard sell to buy coke and other drugs so much so it felt like that was the priority even more than the push for sex. So clearly that is where the margin is. That should have been a warning signal but of the 5 of us who took a girl to their room (100/ half an hour) all of had a very similar experience. The sell in the bar OWO, anal, no rush wasn't matched by reality. As soon as we were in the room it was sorry no anal you are too big, no OWO not until I know you better and then after a few minutes of very mechanical sex "you need to cum" and all the tricks to waste time. So similar was our experience that it seemed that the girls were working to a script. After comparing notes we complained to the boss lady who response was to call security and ask us to leave. We are capable of looking after ourselves but others might have felt very threatened. As a side note the only one of us that uses coke says that what he bought might as well have been pure baking soda for the effect it had. So we won't be back to Sanmar and would give a big avoid. Taxi drivers seemed to be on commission to take you to Sanmar so expect a hard sell from them too.

After those 3 places there is Angels out by Vale do Lobo which is consistently good and consistently expensive but you get what you pay for so we recommend one night out there if you have time Failing that there is Korpus a high end lapdance club near the Casino but with most of the girls happy to meet up out of hours. Girls of a consistently high standard and many more eastern Europeans than other places so if blonde is your thing head there. The dance prices and drinks are expensive and the girls take out price high too but it is a nice club so if money is no objective it is a a safe fun night out.

So in summary of the clubs CATS, Korpus and Angels all worth a visit but Sanmar sadly a big avoid.

Local independents sadly are few and far between and generally we've found are not there the following year so difficult to rely on. They are however often very cost effective if you want party back at your hotel / apartment and we've had all nighters with girls who will play with us all for as little as 300-400 which when divided amongst a group is great value for money. Some Portuguese will help as the level of English with independents is generally poor. I may post a couple of reports on independents but since they probably won't be there next time it would just to get a feel for what you can expect.
