Tried 67 and 29 X houses at Sanur on consecutive days. Experience similar to what others have mentioned in this forum and smf. Aquarium selection. Average quality with one or two attractive chics. Depends on the day and the time of the day you visit. Cottage type rooms, unhygienic bed, barely functional bathroom. Girls speak little English. Google helps. Paid 600 k IDR to the pimp which I learnt later is on the higher side. 400 K should have been a good bargain. 50 k tip both times. Just hump and dump. Nothing to feel good about. Not to visit in case you are looking for quality time. The only good thing is there is no hurry or compulsion to choose. You can take your own sweet time. Any local driver can take you there without a second thought. There are many other houses as well.

Visited Ibiza. Was quoted 1. 6 mil for 90 min. Sounded steep. Did not budge to a bargain. Walked out. Curious to know from forum brothers about the service.

RPS was a total waste. Paid 1. 2 mil for 60 min, great lineup. Chose one that was my type. But it is not a massage place. There was a bathroom downstairs and a bed upstairs instead of a massage table. Just a FS place and in that context it wasn't worth at all. Could have been to Sanur twice. Take cash if you go. They charge 3% extra on cards. Same as Ibiza, no bargaining.

The best action however was by chance. Noticed a freelancer in the hotel returning back after servicing another guest. She was a little plump appearing to be in late 20's but well dressed. Approached with a casual smile and Hi. Spoke for a few minutes, offered a drink and negotiated 1 mil for for 3-4 hours. She spoke good English which was a great relief and is from Sumatra. Shared a drink. Got into the shower with me, cleaned up, had DFK, an amazing long BBBJ with CIM. Then started massaging B2 B. I had some coconut oil with me and it was pure bliss for nearly an hour. Finished another round and shower. Was hugging, spooning, talking about all sorts of things. She had come on self drive. I made sure she was sober enough to drive back. Tipped an extra 200 K for the good time and exchanged numbers for next time. I could share the contact with genuinely interested brothers.

Every single tourist is riding one and some are doing crazy speeds when drunk so still you have to be cautious. Once you are comfortable then you may want to try it out in the real world streets. Just my 2 cents!

Scooter rentals are easy in Bali and the tourist areas of Thailand. As for "viable" do you mean safe? I have owned or ridden motorcycles, mini bikes or scooters all of my life and I feel qualified and experienced enough to use them most anywhere. That said, I would never recommend a total novice get on one and learn how to ride there. Exceptions being well away from the crowds on super laid back islands or non-tourist areas where you won't be compelled to make consequential judgement calls. I doubt these areas are what you have in mind. You do not want to end up in an emergency room with broken bones, sprains and meat grindered skin and body. It is just not worth the risk. New riders are extremely vulnerable to mistakes. You do not have subconscious muscle memory to active brakes, lean, recognize dangerous surface changes, avoidance decisions, danger situations, escape routes, gaps in traffic, what side of the road you are supposed to be on. F-up any of these and you are on the pavement. You don't want to have to repair yourself or the scooter.
