I'd go back! Probably, actually hmmmm. I'm not easily scared off and have had sex in some really really seedy and dodgy places, but this place was probably the most extreme I've seen, hence I didn't partake even though there were some good looking women.

The information is certainly there on the forum in this thread, but it can easily get buried under the meaningless discussions.

You have the right plan in terms of catching up on sleep. Most of the brothels become operational by 3 pm, but don't really get going until 5 pm or later. Places like Classic, Travel and all the Kota Indah bars are to be avoided after 9 pm, unless you are OK with a cloud of cigarette smoke over your head, Plus these places get extremely crowded with local bakso sellers and ojek drivers all lining up to get a piece of cheap pussy. The girls are also overused by then.

On the other hand places in Kelapa Gading like King Cross or Sumo and Malio and other places like 1001, Emporivm, etc are best after 8 pm. Sumo is a full blown spa (so are the other places, except King Cross) so you can get there by 6 pm, relax in the pool, get a steam / sauna and then go upstairs, get a drink and check out the sexy shows, eyeball the talent and select a girl of your liking. In all these places the mami or papi will understand basic English and you can tell them exactly what you want. They have heard and seen it all before. These places are not as crowded mainly because of the price, and the fact that they charge you an entry fee, that keeps the riff raff out.

Hope you have a good time, get some reports in too.

    Best time 2 visit

I am visiting in November for 10 days. I am staying at Shangri-La and Mulia in case location impacts the times I should go.

I spent time reading the last 200 pages of the forum, so I did my due diligence.

I am asking for the best times to go to spas and brothels. I understand the freelance scene pretty well because I have lived it. No brothel experience other than Maribaya in 2014.

I want to stay unjet-lagged when I get home, so my general plan is to sleep from 8 am to 3-4 pm local time.

My plans include a mix of 3 Indo-Cupid dinner dates (+ who knows) and plenty of time at BATS & CJ'S.

I plan to visit Malioboro; Kings Cross; Kartika and Classic to try out the brothel scene as recommended by Smoothy, Goferring, Natty Bumpo and others.

What is / are the best times to visit these places or times to avoid, please. Be specific, if necessary, as each may have it own best time.

    Cheers, SEA Traveler.

And 'rokok': smoking. There are a million others but BJ keeps it simple and works for those new to town.

I never did find out why the term 'Head Job' never worked (for me at least) 🤨.

    Enjoy. G.

    CBJ's. In Jakarta? Nooo..

Can't you just go to Blok M? Or what's left of it. Many girls speak some basic English in the blok, they would definitely understand 'blow job' and 'no condom'.

BTW. What happened to the VIP bar in the D's? Does it still exists? Blow job galore.

Yes. Sarkem. Pasar Kembang in Jogja. Saritem in Bandung may still be active too. There are only a few pockets left in Jakarta, it will be nice if these can hold up, Since 10 years, it's been an active government policy to shutdown and terminate all lokalisasi's, across the country. And with the new bill coming up.. who knows. It must be said though, places like Kalijodo (kalibojo is a much better name, I agree.) are always mentioned here in a shroud of nostalgia, but the reality is that they largely cater for local men only. That's why they're dirt cheap. Us foreigners would hardly go there. Well, once or twice, maybe...

    True but

What you are saying it's true but isn't also true that all these entertainment complex are owned by well connected and somewhat law makers? Despite lawmakers being above the law, wouldn't this hurt their wallet and bring them down under the law eventually!

Most understand blow job, but if they don't.

To say it very literally, "hisap kontol saya, tidak pakai kondom".

    Or "sepong tidak pakai kondom".

The veterans may know what I am talking about. It gave me the kick to loaf around there (with almost no bules around) and just venture. Super local and cheap as fuck.

Any insights from people who know more about Indonesian society and politics than I do would be appreciated.

The latest is that the law is on hold.

"Indonesian President Joko Widodo has suspended a raft of draconian amendments to the country's criminal code that would ban sex outside marriage and limit other personal freedoms.
    Key points:

The Government had been planning on bringing forward a vote on the new criminal code next week
But late on Friday, the Government said it would delay introducing the new laws
More than 6 million tourists visited Indonesia last year

The Indonesian Government had been planning to bring forward a vote on a new national criminal code as early as next week. Among other things, it would make it illegal to criticise the president, have sex outside of marriage, sell contraceptives and take away a women's rights to choose an abortion.

But late on Friday, Mr Widodo delayed the bill's passage until the new parliament is inaugurated next month, meaning debate and a vote will begin again."

    THANKS for the advice.

Some of this preparation helps kill the time while I wait for November 5th to arrive. .

While the girls and mamasans may speak very little or no conversational English, they will know a few words pertaining to their job. 'No condom', 'Blow Job' and the like are understood in both languages so you will be able to get your point made.

I would follow Smoothy's recommendations on where BBBJ is a near certainty or, if other reasons see you at the other locations, just make use of simple English instructions and hand signals rather than pre prepared translations and videos.

Good luck and enjoy your visit, G.
