Do I get old and start glorifying the good ol'times, or do you also notice a declining service mentality of our Mongolian providers?

Of course there are still many providers with impeccable attitudes, but it happens more and more frequently, that we agree on LT until the next morning, go home, have sex for 15-30 minutes until the girl tells me that she is tired and wants to sleep. OK, I think, these girls have a tiring job, and we can still have another round after some sleep. In the morning, the girl suddenly jumps out of the bed telling me that she has to leave immediately for some urgent business (e. G. Shopping with a friend) and that she is very sorry that she cannot stay longer. Of course she is expecting to be paid for LT, although I effectively got ST.

Last night, I explicitly agreed on LT with 2 rounds for 1500 with a girl, that I had once before and that gave me a good time then. This time, however, it unfolded exactly as described: 20 min sex and no sex at all in the morning. I told her that I consider this not line with our agreement and gave her only 1200 instead of the agreed 1500. She started a big scene telling me I am not keeping our agreement and that her usual rates are 1500 for ST and 3000 LT (yeah, start dreaming!). I threw her out of my apartment wondering what had gone wrong here.

I also encounter more and more price negotiations, which were the exception 4-5 years ago. When I discuss this with the girls, I often hear that they have to do this, as they have more and more customers not paying according to their expectations. I am a frequent visitors to Maggies and am always paying the usual rates (1000 for ST and 1500 for LT) , but it seems that this does not prevent me from such negotiations.

I am by no means a regular at Maggies but I do get in there whenever I am in Beijing. I have also noticed a big change in attitude and increased hard negotiations over the years. Used to be, you knew the price and paid it. Now, they start out quoting riduculous money e. G as much as 3, 000. And, IMHO, the service quality is deteriorating both physically and mentally. I used to say that I never had bad service from a Mongolian but that is not the case anymore. I did find a couple of bad apples on my last 2 visits.

While we may not get a special bar in this manner, always avoid touts and offers too good to be true. My mate from Harbin (male) came down to beijing for a shopping (sic) expedition last November and for some reason that defies my imagination took a cheap private taxi from the railway station. Next thing he knew a 2nd guy jumped in and they drove off the a place where he got fleeced, lost everything, luggage, watch, ticket home, wallet, etc. (That what what he told me. I strong suspect the real story was slightly different and possibly involved special service and baby oil, but then I am a suspicious type) Anyway, next thing I know I got a call at mid-day at my apartments from security saying some guy wanted to speak with me. Once I worked out who it was I told him he was an idiot, gave him the fare back home and dropped him off the railway station to explain how he lost everything to his wife.

While almost all my mates from Singapore have been ripped off at some time in Beijing going to special KTV's, I have never had any locals affected, so I was surprised. So, always be careful and never follow touts.

You had better not keep any of your personal things but some cash with you while deciding to take action. It's okey for me every time. But thanks for the warning.

Anyone tried a girl from craigslist?

Seems the easiest thing to do.

That's certainly an option, but be prepared to pay the price. Twice I've use CL girls, and they always start out quoting huge amounts of money for full service, in the area of around 4000 RMB. Both times I was able to talk them down to 1000, but I didn't feel their service was worth the price.

I've managed to get a number of bar girls to come back with me for 1000, and their service was much better.

Does anyone know anything about the Beijing Tai Yue Suites. 16 South Sanlitun Street? Friendly? Local area? Seem reasonable and an interesting alternative. But I don't know much about the area other than its proximity to other Maggies and the Den.

As you said, it's crucial to make sure they flip the meter. When in the more touristy areas, I've found that a lot of them want 100 RMB to drive you if you're planning to go a long distance. This has happened to be multiple times in Wangfujing, which is about a 50 RMB cab ride from where I stay in Haidian. I've noticed though that only the drivers waiting outside their parked taxis will try to pull this on you. So, make sure you hail a cab that's driving on the street, and avoid the parked ones.

All the taxis in Beijing are clearly marked, usually green / yellow. Don't worry about the color, you will for sure know it's a taxi. Just make sure the driver flips the meter when you start driving. The cheap private taxis are called "hei che", meaning black car. They are just normal cars or normal cars with a red light stuck on the dash or whatever. If you're not from here it's better not to take them. They're not cheap unless you bargin. If you get in a taxi with normal markings you don't have to worry about it. All taxis start at 10 rmb in the daytime, start at 11 rmb at late hours. Cheap.

For cheap private taxis, do you mean unmarked vehicles, private cars? Cars that don't have any meters for fares? Cars that don't look like taxis? What are the most common colors for taxis in Beijing? I might be in Beijing in two month or so....Thanks.

Remember it is spring festival and there is a reason why this forum is suddenly open! That is also why some people are absent here for the moment but we still live and there is a PM system.

Last days there were LE checks in some more frequented and often reported places, which I also tend to visit, so my friends (e. G. From down under) take a little care.

Also flight tickets going North are rare, planes fully packed leave.

Better come back mid / late February and be careful for now.

Its ironic that that this forum is more useful when its closed. Its coming up to CNY and there is always some type of crack down going on, so beware and use the PM facility for any details.

I have been doing my bit to assist the absent at Hollywood. Or Hollywood is absent is more apt. Business model and it really seems like its in some type of death spiral. A lack of providers means a lack of customers, which means laowai providers are less likely to venture over and so the death spiral continues. While this time of year is normally very quiet I have never seem the place so empty this month. A group of 4 lady gaga's are all that is left of the round eye laowais, a small group of northern sisters and "stans sisters", as well as a splattering of pseudo Koreans. But I have many fond memories of the old place and will do my bit to assist, but I have a bad feeling. (Note : Cover charge has gone up to RM60)

Chocolates seems to be doing well, as is maggies. I actually like the small bar at the back, for some reason its more comfortable and friendly. With all the comments about the pig I may venture north / east in the next few days to check it out.

1) Is it possible to get JUST a HE at saunas and spas? They just seem more clean and legit than BBS and massage parlors and would be nice to try one out. What would one expect to cash up for that kind of treatment?

2) What constitutes as 'special service'? Is it the same as FS?

Any recommendations for a super-n00b is highly appreciated

"Special Services" is anything above a straight massage. If a sauna offers special services, the cheapest option is typically the "oil massage" which includes a "happy ending". Happy ending means a hand job. Whatever massage that is the most expensive on the menu will include full sex, but again this is not offered at every sauna. There is nothing worse than booking the full sauna package, anticipating sex, only to get a massage (albeit probably a good one). It is always best to ask. After you enter the sauna and have taken your shower and soaked in the hot tub, ask the attendant where to go for a massage. He will give you some pajamas and point you in the right direction. You will then be taken to a massage room. If there is a bed in it, you might be in luck. If it has an official looking massage table you might still be able to get a hand job, but probably not full sex. Once in the room someone will come and ask you what you want. You will just be you and this person in the room, so you are free to ask what services they provide. Believe me, even if they do not offer special services they will have been asked the question many times in the past, so don't be afraid of offending them. After you decide what massage you want they will send in a girl. If you don't like her you can asked for someone else. This can be tough becuase you probably don't want to hurt her feelings, but trust me, these girls get selected / rejected several times a day. You can also ask to see a lineup of all of the available girls. Keep in mind that there are often 3 different sets of girls. One group does only the straight massage, another will do massage and hand jobs, and the last group will do full sex. This is why sometimes you may see some super cute girl in the hallway, but then when it comes time for the lineup she is not there. She may be a straight massage girl, but you are only being presented the full sex massage girls.

If you select a straight massage, and then decide she is cute and you want a handjob or sex, it is unlikely that she will do anyting but massage. On the flip side, if you select full sex then the girl really will not do any type of massage. She will just get right down to business.

I think the oil massage / happy ending option is the best value at a sauna. Normally the full sex option is twice the price of the oil massage, but the experience is not twice as good. With the oil massage you will get a good relaxing massage, and then a nice release.

In all there cases, at the end there is no need to tip the girl. She will have you sign a receipt for the services she provided, and you pay when you exit the sauna.
