The guy behind me saw me backing up and did not know I was turning left, so he decided to pass me on the left just as I was making the turn. The driver side door glass had been completely broken out and small fragments were all over me.

Damn Ace!. What an ordeal. Especially time and inconvenience wise. I'm doing my usual and renting this week too. My situation could be much worse, especially since I am renting from one of those "Rent at Your Own Risk" rental agencies. Glad you are alright.

I haven't been posting much lately on the Dominican board because I have found my happiness somewhere else. I'm talking about a place that is completely safe and its a throwback to a time when people had respect and appreciated good romance and sex. Those of you who are my friends know where I'm talking about. Lets just say its the last place on earth like this. My advise to guys searching for such a place is to go where other guys aren't going and make your own paradise.

It looks like you didn't need it in this instance, but did you happen to have the "Casa del Conductor" insurance option?

All I had was whatever my American Express provides. And the funny thing is that it is a brand new account and my first time even using the card. I wanted to ask the cop about Casa del Conductor but I didn't want to blow my cover of not being able to speak Spanish.
