Posts: 1359I think she was just checking that I was already in the system like you said. It's unlikely she was re-registering me.

Posts: 1359The Orange rep said specifically that I couldn't do it for someone (I didn't even ask her about that, she volunteered that info), they would have to be there. In your case, I doubt what you did will work. I think you will have to be there too. The other thing I'm thinking, everybody that has to get a new number may have to pay for that. It may only be a couple hundred pesos, more or less. But for all that fall in that category, these carriers should get some decent revenue. What is gonna suck, is if you still had credit on your original sim, and end up losing all of it due to the termination.

Posts: 1359I don't believe in bargaining time either. But I felt I needed to confirm her expectations vs mine. At that point I wasnt negotiating just confirming where we stood. I was already leaning more towards getting with my Blondie. Her answer worked for me. When a chica comes up with a price like that, I'm inclined not to pursue any further. If she counter-offered later, I still would be inclined not to pursue, because I expect her performance may be sub-par to compensate for what she felt she was sacrificing.

Posts: 99I sent a copy of my Bill and my Passport to the orange customer service email adress I wrote here down earlier. But so far I have no response. Not even a automated mail, that they got the mail and it is in progress, like you usually get when you sent a mail to a big company.

Did you get the impression that she was just checking that you were already in the system (perhaps because you showed your passport when buying the SIM) or did she have to re-register you?

That is exactly whay I did on my last trip. I would get a girl's number and tell her I would call her later. I would text her with my address and tell her I will pay 1500 pesos. At that point, its up to her, if she comes thru, great. If she doesn't, then I move on! (only difference is I don't try to bargain for 2 hours because I know the girl is going to run off 5 seconds after I cum).

Posts: 1359After going to Orange I went to the playa for lunch. Met a cute 29 yr old chica there (she looked 22), set up a date for later. As I was leaving the playa my regular who was bed ridden just last week hurriedly caught up to me. This same chica texted me last week complaining about being unemployed and then sick in a hospital for a few days (sent bogus pics too) , all of a sudden is working at the same spot she was working last trip, and no sign of having been sick. No problem, that doesn't concern me. They can lie all they want. I know the game with her (and others) and how to play it.
I agreed to get together with her when she got off work at 6. She came right to my spot. We did our thing and after 2 hours I told her I was going out later and didn't want all night tonight. She left and now I was going to prepare to make the hookup with the chica from the playa.
Then it dawned on me. I have no clue what this chicas expectations are for getting paid. It was clear when she told me she was staying at City Lights, that she was on the hustle. So I decided to text her and tell her what I usually pay for 2 hours. 1500. I said I would offer 500 more if the service was good. No response to my text. My blondie regular had been blowing up my phone. And I sure wouldn't mind getting with her. We have good chemistry. I set out to see if the chica was at City Lights anyway. I spotted her sitting at the bar, and then I called her.
Bottom line she said she wanted 2500 for 2 hours, that 1500 I offered for 2 hours wasnt enough. I said I understood, and hung up. Went home to relax, and prepare for Blondie. I don't know what I was thinking. But I am glad I asked what her expectations were before picking her up, getting her to my spot only to have a little dilemma. By getting her expectations beforehand, I saved myself from wasting my time and money. I had no clue if she could or would give good service. I wasnt about to take that chance, even for a short stay. Especially since I know I wouldn't have needed her for 2 hours, and I know she wouldn't stay for 2 hours in the 1st place.

Soon as I was out of the POP terminal I started asking about this verification program of cell sims supposedly going on. 1st guy I spoke to about it was the dominican who is employed at the car rental place. He said it was true, and most of his family did the verification online. Then I talked to my Tourist guide buddy Miguel and he said the same thing. I asked why are they doing it? They both claim that they are implementing a system where they can identify crank callers that abuse emergency services, like the fire department, ambulance, police etc. I think the problem is, there are many sim cards that are bought on the street, often individuals have several cards. Apparently these cards are not readily identifiable to who is using the sim. So they want to rectify that. I suppose any sim that can't be verified will be terminated.
Okay so I went to Orange. The girl there asked for my passport (gave her a copy) and asked me to write down my numbers. She got on her computer terminal for a minute or two, handed my papers and said I was okay. I asked her specifically what happens to people who have sim cards but they are in another country? She said that sim will become terminated and they will have to get a new number. I asked about a deadline, and she said tomorrow June 12 is the deadline. I wanted to ask more questions to make sure I understood everything, but she was busy tending to other anxious customers.

Posts: 436LOL. I don't have any "Jungle Fever" fantasy. I'm just going by what I've just seen over the past 6 days.

Problem was I saw more than a few I liked but did not see one black gringo with a Haitian girl.
I guess my point is that I was trying to watch for those hidden and rarely spoken about social codes that rookies like myself tend to miss.

Posts: 2390Absolutely not. Ad runs Rancho Tipico and attracts a lot of German-speakers and haitianas. It is also a favorite spot for non-German ex-pats and he would welcome your custom.

Obviously you have to be aware of any relationships between men and girls in order not to cause offence, but that would be the same for dominicanas too and men of any nationality. Fifteen minutes chilling out should be enough to tell which men are with steady girlfriends. And even if you do get it wrong it is rare that anyone would take offence. More likely to invite you to join them for a beer.
I cannot speak for the small hours when a lot of people are drunk and many guys and chicas have not yet pulled. Doesn't take too much to start trouble in that situation.
Incidentally, French-speaking nationalities and Italians are equally partial to haitianas. It was they who got Sosua rolling long before the big influx of Americans.

Posts: 436Targeting Haitian Girls for Enjoyment: Encroaching on the German Turf?
If I (as a non-German) started hanging out at the German-run bars and chatting up the Haitian girls would that be seen as bad form? It seems that the German guy / Haitian female bond is strong and I'd be making enemies if I tried to chat up a darker chica.

Posts: 2406Also funny how all those "requests" look like they were cut and pasted from the same puta manual. Or like their phones had a built in auto text app. LOL.

Posts: 2406Let's hope it didn't result from a petty dispute over a few pesos with a crazy puta that got escalated.
