Posts: 1359As far as Sosua, that info about bars being closed the day in question, was / is false as for Friday June 13 into Sat June 14. The only bar I saw closed was The Latin Drink (the latins). El Flow, Winners Circle, Bermuda, Merenge,Bar Central and many others were open as usual. Drove down PC towards Passions and all of the bars down there were open as well and relatively full. If anything changes, I will report what I see.

Posts: 1359Update! Friday June 13 into Sat June 14
Classico's is / was open. Sexy dolled up chicas showed up to enter like the old days. Merenge Bar was filled up with patrons like it used to be. Plenty of chicas in there. The'LATINS closed. Rumba's wide open and in full effect. Plenty of chicas in there. Including the 5 inch heeled chicas passing through on their way to Classico's. Strip (Pedro Clisante) still closed to vehicular traffic between Dr Rosen (corner where Rumbas is) all the way down to Sinatra's restaurant. This is done in the evening. Don't know if it is true, but a unsubstantiated source claims the'Latins may be closed for 2 weeks. They said it might have something to do with the owner not making some sort of payment? Who knows? But what I do know, it was closed Friday night. We'll see what happens the rest of the weekend.

Posts: 1656This Saturday at 8 pm there will be a cultural event on PC strip. Don't buy any waiters rumours please, the waiters will stay poor and the owners continue to make money and pay off.

I started going to Sosua back when Classicos was king and the number one attraction. I already brought my ticket for a trip in September I'd like to get a gauge of what to expect and get my game plan in order. I have a few chick numbers and my goto Chica's in Sosua and Puerto Plata.
I always say a bad Chica day in DR is better than a good day in the USA LOL.

I was talking to the snack vender Henry (he is setup on the corner where the latins and winners circle meet). He was talking about Rumba and the latins closing. What wasnt clear to me was if this was just for Friday, the weekend or indefinitely?

It was interesting seeing the strip street closed to traffic but open to all pedestrians instead. The neighboring corners and streets were overflowing with parked cars and motos, since the strip was blocked off. Was in Rumba up to about 12 last night. Many vet chicas and many new to me chicas around. All looking hungry for clients. Problem though I suspect many of them think they can still get 3 k and up. So they may look good but chances are you are only going to get some hustler up in your spot, not somebody who is going to represent herself well. If they can, they may want to finish you off quickly and get back out there to find another client. But that's all theory on my part. YMMD.
If these closings are true, chicas and mongers are going to have to make some adjustments for hookups. Perhaps theyll be more action on the beach. This is where having established contacts may be a good thing.

Posts: 3802Closing of Rumbas / Latino Bar Is It Really True!
Last night on the Strip I was talking to two Chicas that told me that the President had ordered the closing of all the Bars in both Sosua and Cabarette effective today!

I find this hard to believe as tourism in Sosua would come to a halt. Does anybody reallly know the truth about all this?

Sosua Clubs.
I am in Sosua now and will be leaving for Nagua in a few for the weekend and will return to Sosua Monday. Recent intel is as follows:
The waiter at the Latins told me last night this was his last night and all the clubs would be closed with the exception of Classicos and After One. He did not specify about the east end clubs on Pedro Clisante like Rancho Tipico.
I will post a detailed report on Sosua and Nagua when I return.

Posts: 3257Insight of a real monger
I spoke to a guy in my gym who is a real pro. He travels all over central and south America. He has been everywhere and done it all. I saw him in the gym and he was raving about Sosua last week. He said girls were coming in by the bus loads from all over the island. When this guy is impressed I have to pay attention. He was paying 1000 to 1500 pesos for quality women.

Posts: 2119Excellent and detailed fact based report which will benefit others. I am glad you were not harmed any which way. I also wonder if the experience would have been different had the other party been a Dominican instead of a Canadian as I understood the other driver was.

Posts: 1359I'm willing to bet those who purchased sims with proper should be fine. But does that mean after verification or the verification doesnt matter for those individuals? Scores of people have been going to offices for verification whether they bought off the street or not. So are you saying the verification is unnecessary for those who know their sims were registered properly? The other thing is, could there be instances where the company screwed up in keeping up with many of their registered customers? Thus requiring re-verification.

The sims purchased via claro or orange with proper I'd are fine. The sims purchased with no I'd are the troublesome ones. The country has just implemented a 911 emergency system and want to have each phone identified as to who the owner is. They had a campaign to educate the public about using 911 for non emergencies and for prank calls. If you prank 911 you can be fined a lot of money, something like 1/2 a years pay.
If they don't have a phone registered to a person they will cut the line. I have 2 phones, 1 claro and 1 orange. The orange is fully legit, the claro was bought off the street. The claro chip will most likely be cut off by the end of the week.

Posts: 2390Apparently you don't have to go to a main office. My gf just registered hers at Orange in Caribe Tours. In line for 20 minutes but would have taken much longer at the main Orange office.
