Seat belt enforcement has been in effect for a while. This didn't just happen. I got a ticket almost a year and a half ago for not having my seat belt on. It was a 1600 peso ticket that got reduced to 1000 pesos. The Amet police were setup on the main road, at the corner where the local Police station is. Now what they do is pick random areas in town to catch offenders. No seat belts, helmet less motos and whatever else they are targeting.

I got stopped once in Cabarete. Female good looking cop wanted to see my rental papers. After she looked at it she let me go. She did not ask for anything else except she told me to buckle up. I guess hereon I need to buckle up all the time.

I guess the bottom line is, how's the core business?

Are there just as many fresh putas drifting into town? Crackdowns tend to scare off all but the hardcore ones.

The recent posts seem to concern regulars, pre-arranged dating, and GFs etc. (which I personally have), and it's a given you can get laid anywhere down there, but I have guys that are asking for my vacation recommendations right now.

To be honest. Most of the chicas I see walking around, I have seen hundreds of times in Sosua. They are part of the scenery. Every now and then I see some new faces in town (new to me). One can't judge the scene by a single day, because the roster of chicas coming and going changes day to day, week to week, month to month. Many of the regular chicas I've seen walking around or in the bars/clubs a hundred times could easily be another guys blessing. Many chicas I would love to sample even though I have seen them over a years time. I just haven't done anything about it. With that, we all just observe each other and co exist. It's possible a chance hookup can happen anytime. Late night there always seem to be the stunners coming to town. So there is no problem there. I just don't usually stay out late to sample them, and possibly their inflated pricing.

Me and another guy both were at Rumbas last week. We both agreed the roster of chicas that Friday was way better than the night before. And that is the way Sosua is. It's hard to give a precise account of what Sosua will or can offer. You'll know once you are here to see for yourself. I would encourage guys to come, because I believe they will enjoy themselves. On the other hand, the less dicks in town it might make things better for guys already here. Hungrier chicas, and more availability of stunners. Personally, I don't see any crackdown. People need to stop reading words on a screen and becoming fearful. Unless were talking about a serious safety issue that aint no rumor, like getting killed etc, guys need to just hop on a plane and see for themselves.

Conflicting reports on bar closings in Sosua, are disturbing to us fans. Is this just "business as usual" or are there some big changes coming down?

Anybody there at ground zero who can put this stuff in context for us?

Don't know what happens if you don't have any Eye Dee? Maybe arrest you. I would venture to guess that if you do not have papers for the car or moto you are driving, the vehicle may be impounded. I don't know what the particulars are, and don't want to find out the hard way.

So far all has not closed down. It has only been the Dee' Latins recently, so far. Other bars are still open, and the club Classicos has opened back up. Manizales said Rumba is not closed. I take that to mean, it isn't closed down. So the sky has not fallen just yet. For those with concerns of an impending drought on mongering in Sosua, maybe now is a good time to work towards establishing contacts and regulars.

Now that the brothel type establishments like FOD, BB and Cristals can't regulate who the girls talk to, a guy can visit these places, find interesting girls there, get their numbers to hook up with when they are off the premises. Or you can salida the chicas, and take them with you if you arent staying at these places. Or you can pay for a room for short time, if you arent staying there.

Really? Well that's good then. But it appeared to be closed at the time I drove by there yesterday early evening. What I mean is, not open and serving customers.

Oh, and another thing. Don't let on to them that you are a "monger" or that you read an Internet board about Sosua. As far as they are concerned you may just be a visitor, a tourist, a guy looking for a place to retire to, a future resident, visiting a friend who lives in town, or whatever. They don't know your personal business, so don't tell them stuff they don't need to know. Sometimes it can be a good idea to play hard to get and not appear to be overeager. "What me and you? Are you crazy? Do you know how old I am? I don't have any money for this. Etc. " Of course it is all bullshit, but it adds to the fun.
