I stayed in four casas long term (more than a day) and three casas short term (two hours), and there are some things you guys need to know. Its not flamboyant at all, so if you are looking for certain amenities you will be sad. Certain Cuba veterans have told me I'm giving up too much info but I feel the basics are needed so no one makes mistakes.
Casas:
You won't see central A /C like in most places, there is usually one A /C unit in one room like the bedroom. Its that window unit reserved for one room of the house. The is usually a double bed, not a queen or king sized bed. The showers might have cold water. One had no running water in the shower just a bucket full of water. You take half the water to water down then soap up and the rest of the bucket to rinse. They boil water to drink and cook with. There is usually one small be / w tv for one room. No internet, cable or wifi. Privacy is usually a flimsy curtain. No toilet seat, just bend over and squat. I'm not trying to scare you guys just being real.
You guys need to know this, so if you're a preppie guy stick to the 4 star hotels.

You keep asking for a lot of information, but refuse to post a trip report on your past trips to Cuba.

Mr. Gogo,
I Soo sooo agree with what you said. Especially sharing a casa for the same reason you mentioned. My casa lady is so nice I can't see an asshole I refer to her coming drunk with scandalous jineteras and causing her to lose her house.
One advice I can add to that is: OnCe you find a good casa the owner is not going to trust you right away. You'll have to earn it by not bringing PROBLEMS back to the casa. I have such a trust already built that she doesn't even have to see who comes in with me. But you need to protect those kind of casa owners cause they are in violation of the system.

As I have said before, it's best for each individual to do their own foot work regarding finding a good casa that fits them.
Check into a regular hotel for a couple days and find a Chica that speaks English to hangout with you for the afternoon as you walk around Havana checking out casas. If you drink you might want a casa owner who also drinks. If you smoke you might want a casa that's smoke friendly. I would stay away from casas with small childen because of the noise factor.
Cubans are very social and will introduce you to nice females if you don't act like a dog.
Guys here are reluctant to give up their casa info because some of you rude guys will fuck up a good thing they have going.
As I said before; Use your first trip as a scout trip to prepare for future trips. Some guys here aren't willing to take the time to set things up, they want everything perfect their first time. It won't happen fellas.

Starting with a question. I am taking a first timer to Cuba (myself is fairly new as been to Cameguey twice and was helped by a family who worked in hotel so all worked good for the most part).
Now this guy wants to go to Havana. The tickets now is $700+ for hotel + flights. I want to book flights only and land there go to a casa which is again, "Safe", chica friendly, English speaking, close to discos, no police, etc.
I know I am asking the biggest trade secret here but please do help me out as I need a partner in crime for future and wants to make him feel good in there.
Much appreciated!
Soon to be expert monger.

Posts: 4A Latino friend of mine just came back from Cuba a few months ago. He had told his woman, a Santiaguera, that he was coming months in advance. He was planning to hang out in Havana for a day, head to Trinidad for about 2 days, then go to Santiago to spend time with her. Somehow, she talked him into having her meet him at the airport in Havana. So she traveled to Havana, met him at the airport and the whole thing was a nightmare for him although he had been to Cuba several times before AND was a fluent Spanish speaker.
I had actually advised him against the idea of his chica meeting him at Jose Marti airport when he was in the process of planning his trip. He said he missed her so much and wanted to maximize the amount of time they would spend together, now he never wants to see her again. He told me that his trip would have been better of she had just met him at the Viazul bus station in Santiago. Es Cuba!
What actually happened that he never wants to see her again?

Cuba is Advanced Punting and Advanced Tourism. Not a good place for casual guys to cut loose. You have to be methodical and detail oriented in many ways just to stay on the good side of the law.
If you really want an easy, affordable party haven, I think that the DR would better suit your needs for latino women, Thailand for asian women, or Germany for European women.
