Its okay to visit the way you are bro. But a personal suggestion would be to run a trimmer all over before going. The thing is, hair blurs the contact between the girls hand and you (there is a layer in between. I. e your hair) so the lesser the better. Shaving might make you raw and itchy for several days better to use a trimmer at the lowest setting. Hope this helps.
