You may be a doctor, but some of the numbers you are quoting aren't accurate. And when you compare the risk of contracting HIV with the risk of dying in an aircrash, you're talking about the sample population being global. I. e the sample size of the whole of mankind who indulge in sex.

You've to remember that we need to look at the risks for a mongerer. I. e a person indulging in sex with a commercial sex worker. According to the estimates in 2013, about 2. 8% of commercial sex workers in India were HIV positive (compared to a much much smaller percentage of ALL women) which means on an average 1 in 35 sex workers you meet could be HIV positive. And as for probabilities in contracting HIV through vaginal penetration, the numbers I saw is not 1 in 20,000 - as per this page http://www.aidsmap.com/HIV-risk-leve.../page/1443490/ it varies from 1 in 2500 (0. 04%) for High-Income countries to 1 in 263 (0. 38%) in low income countries, so assuming a mean of 1 in 1000, That would still mean a 1 in 35000 chance of getting HIV when having unprotected sex with a working girl. Yes, doesn't appear that high, but it is still way above the probability of getting involved in an air crash or being hit by a truck while walking on the street.

Whether you want to take the risk or not is your call. But having personally known someone who contracted HIV from his high risk activities in Mumbai and then passed it on to his wife (both died of AIDS a few years back leaving behind 2 kids who are being looked after by the grand-parents), I would say it isn't worth the risk.

Also statistics is in their favour. As you can see unlike HIV cases and Airplane deaths, Russian Roulette fatalities are not reported widely. That should mean something. That means the chances of survival are quite high. In fact the last reported time I saw a case of Russian Roulette, Hrithik Roshan ended up kissing Aishwarya Rai. I mean the odds not only improved but the outcome became positively good. Slave Man should try it sometimes.
