I've walked that San Nicholas area many times, especially from La20 to the north side of the Cali River; never been hasseled or bothered by anyone. But I wouldn't walk it late at night, too many bad boys on the street. Cali does seem safer than Bogota especially compared to the Santa Fe area.

San Antonio neighborhood is a nice area to visit but I wouldn't want to stay there. That Caf Macondo is worth stopping in and having coffee or a drink and looking at the pictures on the wall. There is jazz played at night. But its too far from the action on Ave. Sexta and the Granada area.

9's and 10's I can't help you with. Its all subjective to each monger.

I am actually living in Cali for already 1 year. I am Spanish so. Sorry for my English. You have many places to go, it depends how much money you want to spend. Or even sometimes you can get girls for nothing on local Discoteques.

I would recommend you "Caleas" . You have over 4 branches around the city, another nice place is "Dinas" on Autopista Sur with 50. Those places you can get a nice girl for 100.000 pesos 1 hour. If you know how to deal and of course if your Spanish is good enough.

More expensive is on "El Escoces" behind "Hotel Intercontinental". If you are lucky 150.000 for 1 hour, but all girls are tuned.

Many working girls from all Cali arrives at 3:00 Am into a zone called "Senegal" in "juanchito" there you can find a 6/10 girl for 50.000 . But be aware because that place is quite dangerous. So try not to go alone.

Its the one on Calle 15, close to Ave. Sexta on the northside.

They have a 2nd one way on the south end of Cali.

I'll be in heaven for 3 weeks at least. I'll be taking side trips to Buena Ventura, Santa Marta and of course Cucuta to cross over to Venezuela for some cheap fun maybe. I know I know. I'll be careful as hell of course. I'll be staying where you were BayBoy at the Cali Plaza hotel while in Cali. And Gravi, how did it go in Cucuta where you took my girl? I thought she was saving herself for me? I'll try and document prices, venues, girls; this time I will take a camera that actually works! Cheers.

Isn't it parque San Nicolas that is one block north of LA20? Plaza de caycedo is further away, to the west, and that's what I've assumed people meant when they say Parque Caicedo. Which one has the women, and what days / times are good?

Plaza de Caicedo is downtown Cali, which is approx. 7 blocks from Club San Sonero and Bar La20 on Carrera 8. What I meant was that those 2 bars are one block from each other. Bar La 20 has the best looking chicas; go there bet. 4 and 8 pm any day.

Parque San Nicolas might have a stray hooker here and there but not very often. Kind of a rancauhy area, I didn't feel comfortable walking around there.

You can't afford not to screw. At 2500 to the dollar, even a 40.000 experience costs $16 bucks. Less than a movie and popcorn in the US. I've been paying 25.00 to 30.000 + propina ifn they are outstanding. Now I say 25 bangs which is 5 per day. At 70 years old that's really 2 bangs and 3 massages with intimate attention to details. I plan on visiting Cali for 2 or 3 weeks in June / July this year.

I am planning to study Spanish there but I want to enjoy the playful delights of the city too.

So I wonder if anyone can give me some recommendations on the place suburbs of the city to locate oneself for easy access to the nightlife and casas etc. Hotel names would help too.

I saw the Google map and can see the concentrations of flags, espec around San Vicente (north of the river) and along Carr 8, but are those appropriate places to stay for a few weeks?

A couple of possible hotels for you: Windsor Plaza, Cali Plaza, and Hotel Nevada (budget 2 star). Your probably not a paid member of the Int. Sex Guide, it may affect your not being able to PM members. My suggestion: pay the $20 membership fee.
