    One word

Yep. But the effect is smaller in lesser populated areas like the places you mentioned.

    A New Rio De Janeiro?

    Gents,

You guys that complain about dirty seawater and high crime rate in Rio (does the copa-girls high asking price actually count as a crime as well? LOL) , you might have a new alternative.

Fellow forum member Britisher has made a new post on the Venezuelan thread about the beach town Puerto La Cruz, in Venezuela.

Britisher has put a lot of good info on the Venezuelan thread lately, and regarding safety Caracas and other big cities is dangerous, while smaller cities is more safe than general South American cities. (and he lives in Argentina and travel around, so he should know).

The link to the forum post is here:

    http://www.internationalsexguide.inf...Puerto-La-Cruz

And here you have a new youtube video, showing the similarities to Rio:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwNbCA5SzLU

And another one, little older 2012 beach video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSokqyEyq3Y

But maybe you guys should not go and try it out, as you risk a heart attack when you find out that the going rate for one hour, is 8 USD. (Yes, that is correct, one hour of sex for Eight USD).

Well info is to be shared, and this could be an option, rather than moaning about how bad things have gone.

The world is in constant change, and so should smart travellers.

    Happy Hunting, Ken Apples.

    Hey everyone,

I'll be heading to Copa for a week starting September 3rd. Was wondering if anyone might be around to link up for some exploration. Looking forward to sharing my experiences!

Now it's only funk and sh*t.

Goobye Rio! I had enough from this town!

Guaruja , S. P. Is much better! Cleaner beaches, better looking girls.

It is not a matter of cleaning up, but a matter of stopping untreated waste from going into the ocean, rivers, lagoons, etc. No way they are getting these problems fixed before or after the games. Too much bureaucracy and corruption getting in the way of progress.

    Rio today

Prices have not changed yet to reflect the stronger dollar; Centro Suzy Massagem still charges R150 for an hour. This works out to be around $40, which is a really good value for a first class garota.

With the stronger dollar, visiting Rio is much cheaper, especially if you avoid the beach areas. Generic Viagra is going for R7 for a 2 pack, which works out to $1 for a 50 MG pill.

I came down with some sort of bacterial gastrointestinal infection, but Ciproflaxin took care of it in 36 hours. The recommended dosage is 2 pills a day for 7 days, if you cut it off sooner, you might create a superbug in your system.

I am staying at Hotel Leao in Catete, fairly spartan and no one speaks English here. It is close to the Metro, a plus, and is reported to be guest friendly.

I hope they can clean up the city in time for the Olympics, or else there's going to be a lot of embarrassed officials. I just saw a story on the news today about how the waters off of Copacabana Beach are dangerously contaminated with human waste matter.

Been there 2 weeks ago, the dollar is like 3 times the value of the real so, is pretty cool. Price for termas I am not sure but, I doubt price increase at all.

    Hope it helps!

I am in Copa as well just got here today (Friday). You don't have PM privileges so I can't PM you. Was in Monticarlo tonight as well but did not notice any other Americans there. After Montecarlo went up to Mabs. All of the action from Balcony has moved up to Mabs. Will do the same thing tomorrow (Saturday) Monticarlo in the early evening and then late night (all night) at Mabs for some more freelancers.
