Hotel near world trade center is a good distance from Santa Fe but a very short distance fromthe Mezzanines. If your preference is an hour GFE then I would not recommend Santa Fe, girls there are Pros +++, while the girls at the agencies, and spas (including the Mezzanines) are for the most part more semi-pros, you chance there is much better there to find what you are looking for, and you will probably pay less for the hour than in Santa Fe. (my opinion), other good options are indys that advertise via twitter. Most offer hour long (or longer) GFE services.

Taxis, most taxis in Bogota subscribe to "easy taxi" a safer option than just hauling a taxi off the street. Note that you will need internet access to use the apps. Uber I believe operates in country, another option is get as indicated by jjbee, hotel to get you a taxi but, get the taxi driver to give you his name and number, when you need him just call him, trust me they will welcome the business, make sure to tip him and he will be loyal to you.

In LatinAmerica whatsapp is the most popular app for chatting, most everyone has it, getting it depends on how long you will reman in country and how often you will visit Latin America. If you will be in country just a few days with no plans of returning frequently I would not bother.

Whatsapp is a texting app, so people can text over wifi. Lots of people use it instead of texting. If you're trying to find women through social media or dating sites, it's a good idea to have Whatsapp.

You can use taxi, but it's a good idea to have your hotel call for one. Flagging one down isn't always a good idea. Your other option is the Transmilenio. There are smaller buses that run up and down Carrera 7. The main buses run down Autopista Norte, a bit of a walk to the west.

There used to be women who worked the street in front of Hotel Dann Carlton (Cra 15 and Calle 103) at night. The place known as the "mezzanine" is just across the street from Dann Carlton. A search should give you the details.

As I got more comfortable with window casa shopping, picking girls at the street, and visiting the clubs in the Santa Fe area, my trip got better and better. These are my final notes:

Hello everyone!

As I have not been to lovely Bogota (and yes, I'm referring to the ladies) in at least 7 years, I was excited to learn of a Friday night layover there en-route to Brazil (9 pm-4 am)! Any recommendations for accommodations. Really, just a nice place to bring a prepago and get a shower before the next flight? I'd like to stay in Zona Rosa if possible since I'm somewhat familiar with the layout there. I normally would try to rent an apartment, but I think given my limited time, I should go with a hotel for simplicity so I don't have to do too much coordination. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have read the forum in the past to get tips on places to visit. I had a great experience in Moscow a few years back. In any case, I am visiting Bogota for the first time. I have visited Cali a few times and had a great time in Clinica Dr Amor http://www.clinicadoctoramor.com/# where is a Casa and many chicas just parade in front of you, but chicas are divided in prices, where average girls are 60 k and hour and model / operadas are about 200 k hour.

In the afternoon, I went for a walk to Santa Fe as I did every day. Some of the faces of the women that stand at the casas are becoming familiar and some are recognizing me from my walks and a few girls.

For me, I got spoiled by Medellin and preferred Medellin to Bogota. I prefer looking at the chicas in more private settings and not in places where many people are watching. Are you still in Bogota now? For day time casa action, go to Chapinero. You'll find your familiar environment there, like inspecting a line-up then choose your girl. There are dozens of casas in Chapinero and prices are equal to what you paid those street walkers. You may also collect some phone numbers / Whatsapp to arrange for outside encounters.

Day 1 Friday beginners luck.

After spending two nights of my vacation in South Beach Florida, I decided to stop wasting my time and booked a flight through Google flights. I got a great deal, a round trip flight from Fort Lauderdale to Bogota for just $160 via Spirit Airline. This is my first trip to Bogota, but already been to Medellin, Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta. Once I landed in Bogota, I checked if there was a bus going to the center of town and I found the Metro millennium bus for just 2000 cop or 70 cents usd just outside the terminal were the taxis were waiting. So I ditch the taxi. I travel light with just one backpack not too large so traveling this way is easy and don't like to take taxis to avoid scams and save more money. I also love walking and like to explore areas that way. I speak Spanish fluently and can pass easy for a local. A local oriented me with the metro millennium bus use and how to get to the city center in San Diego. He told me to get off at San Diego stop and from there I started walking around to begin to familiarize myself with the streets, carreras and barrios.

4 pm.

After getting out of the metro millennium bus, I went for a walk to explore the San Diego, Las Candelarias, and Santa Fe. I used WT69 map and information from the ISG Bogota listing and trip reports. I walked most time during this trip and hanged out in San Diego, la Candelaria and Santa Fe areas during day and evening hours. I also used my iPhone Google map application from time to type and discreetly as I walked around.

While walking in the Santa Fe area by Kra 15,14 and 16 and calle 19 and 20, I think I ended up in the worst part of Santa Fe with lots of transgerders, many fatties, older women, some girls sniffing glue, junkies, ugly women, etc. Most were standing on corners and sidewalk. I began to wonder if I made the right decision for coming to Bogota to see this depressing scene. I have to say that I considered myself new to mongering and I don't like or am not used to picking streetwalkers. If I am going to get laid here I will have to get out of my comfort zone. The positive was that I did not feel threatened in this area and it was still light hours. I was trying to find a good hostel but most were booked because it was Friday and I was in the most touristic area and also University area. Universidad de Los Andes, Universidad Tadeo Lozano and La Universidad del Rosario, are some of the schools in the area. Then I found Hotel Dorado at Kra 4 No 12 D-72 in a very nice area of Candelaria, full of cool bars and restaurants. The hotel was only 27 k or 9 USD and I paid without asking any questions. But as soon as I got to my room, I found that this hotel is a dump inside, the bed cheap, the mattress cheap, the sheets and cover were cheap and bathroom was shared and outside the room. I regretted not looking at the room before paying, but then I thought it is just for a night and the next day I could find a better one or a hostel. This area however is as great area to stay, it has the universities near and there was party atmosphere everywhere and lots of young people from the universities and tourists, backpackers. It is also a colonial, an artsy area, Yippy Yappy, rock and roll, punk type of area. The loud music in the area and partying did not stop until 4 am so I did not get a good sleep.

Day 2 Strip club and finding el Dorado land.

4 pm--7 pm.

I went for a walk to Santa fe and did not see anything inspiring. The walk was 20 minutes from my hotel. I was trying to find the girl at day one but I did not see her on her spot. I left and walked towards the San Diego area. In the San Diego area I stumble into two guys that gave me a business card to go to their clubs, one called Stripper Show at Kra 10 No 15-13 and another called Casa Show International pasarelas at Kra 8 No 19-31 and I went inside Casa Show. It was like a combination of Tijuana with girls standing everywhere and by passing by the casas it felt like window shopping in Amsterdam red light district. I passed many casas with girls standing inside the casas entrance and saw the signs for Club Las Paisas Kra 16 a calle 23-58, El Castillo calle 23 no 14-19 Troya Club Kra 16 no 23-89, Atunes Kra 16 no 23-19, and Las Vegas Club Kra 15 23-7. The quality was much better in this area, and the street and avenues on the back of the Piscina Club. Since I just got drained and am not into sport fucking I went back to my hotel. I also needed a day to recharge. I noticed some hotels right in the center of the action and although I felt safe in the Santa Fe area, I did not want to stay in that area at all because it is sort of too low class and prostitutes where everywhere. I will need to recharge and gather my energy for the next day. I was happy that I found El Dorado land or two dorados because the girl at the strip club also said she was from a city call El Dorado. I found a decent local hotel for 37 k or 13 usd hotel Espana at Kr 7 No 23-20. This hotel is not high class but it has a good bed, the room is clean and has a bathroom. And it is just 10 minutes walk to Santa Fe and is located right on avenida 7 which is a really good avenue to be at, to walk, to find shops, restaurants and it is safe. This hotel does not appear to be chica friendly.

Day 3- Sunday window shopping 101 and a day to forget about.

11 am.

I walked to Santa Fe, and went sort of window shopping through the casas. There are no windows but the girls stand in the front of the houses or inside the car garages. The girls at most casas don't set their foot outside of the houses. Most stand inside. Perhaps this is regulation. I spotted one I liked at a Casa but I don't remember the name of that casa. Conclusions:

This city of Bogota is huge. There is a lot to be said about the mongering scene. I can only speak a bit of Santa Fe red light area. Just a couple of days is not enough to get a taste of just Santa fFe Zona Rosa. If you are into the sex clubs and strip sex clubs and picking girls on the street, then this is your paradise. For me, I got spoiled by Medellin and preferred Medellin to Bogota. I prefer looking at the chicas in more private settings and not in places where many people are watching. Also, I am not much into going into the clubs at night and this scene to be most prevalent form of mongering such as going to La Piscina, Troya, Paisa clubs, Las Vegas, etc. I think that the girls in Medellin even in the cheap casas are cleaner and wash themselves after a session. Maybe it has to do with the weather in Bogota and the fricking cold water in the shower that no one want to touch. The weather here is cool or cold and can get very chilly at night. Most places don't have hot water in the shower and the water feels like ice. In that sense I prefer Medellin. This city is also safe in relative terms depending of where you are and much safer than years ago. There are areas I was told that you should not walk (el Cartucho now called la L and Bronx) area near avenidas Caracas kra 14) barrios San Victorino, Parque Metropolitano, Los Martines y Zona Franca. I was told that people get robbed a lot or killed there to get their organs as there is some type of organized organ trafficking. Probably five years ago, I would have been killed or kidnapped just walking the way I was walking alone during the day and evening hours in Santa Fe, but today is pretty okay during the day and evening. I don't recommend walking alone at night or even during the day if you don't speak Spanish in Santa Fe. But day time is okay even if you look like a gringo. You still have to exercise good judgment and not to attract too much attention, and be vigilant or you are going to get screwed just like anywhere else in the world.
