Mani, I was there last January and M2 does indeed have a pool. I found the M2 pool to be much larger with more exposure to the sun than the M1 pool with lots more space around it than the tiny M1 pool. True, M2 doesn't have the bar you have to walk a few minutes to M1 for that. Here's some pics of the smaller M1 pool. Geo.

I agree that normal service and facility issues should be taken care of promptly by the Mansion staff, but the girl stuff is a bit out of their hands. The only reason they're even still operating in the heart of the nicest neighborhood in Medellin is because they're not a brothel where the girls are managed and kept in line by the staff.

The Mansion is easier than staying in an apartment by yourself, but even at the Mansion the staff isn't going to order girls in for you. You make fun of guys on Facebook making appointments, but any guy with some prepago friends on FB can order in his own girls. After a couple of trips, you'll start ignoring some hot girls on FB badgering you to session with them because you only have a limited amount of time and want to try some other girls.

And like Combo suggested, there's always the casas and strip clubs.

But if you don't want to spend time setting up appointments with girls on FB, I think Medellin isn't really the best mongering locale for you. FB is kind of what makes the Medellin scene what it is. The full service venues in Medellin like the casas and strip clubs aren't nearly as abundant as in some other cities.

Even though the Mansion is the best starting point for guys who don't have Medellin FB networks, it really helps to set up a FB account once you get there. Add all the girls you meet, even the ones you have no intention of going with. Add some of their friends and pretty soon you'll start getting random requests from other girls. And there you go, a day or two in and you have your own FB network and can order in whenever you want.

You are correct that the Mansion is no HDR. If you comparing just the Mansion in MDE and to just HDR in CR, then there is no comparison. HDR will win everytime, especially for short trips.

That being said, I don't know why you didn't venture outside of the Mansion. All the options you mentioned that exist in CR also exist in MDE but at a larger scale. The MDE scene is far better than the SJO scene (casas, strip clubs, night clubs, etc). Plus, the pricing in MDE is generally more favorable than the pricing in SJO.

As Combo mentions below, you don't need an English speaking taxi at all. You just need to know the names and addresses of the places you want to go. A little reading of the relevant threads here on ISG would have supplied you all the relevant destinations in MDE. In my experience however, it is not always enough to just say, "Fase Dos" as not all the taxi drivers know these establishments by name. That's why you should always have the addresses as well. I always carry the hotel M card and address with me at all times too so I can find my way back to the hotel. Not all taxi drivers know where Hotel M is.

Also as Combo mentioned, you could have went straight to Fase Dos or the Girls (formerly La Isla) when you arrived late in the evening and had your pick and choose of nice chicas.

And just a few clarifications, the purpose of the nail and hair salon is not to make a cut off the girls. The reason that the hotel provides these services is for an entirely different reason altogether. The hotel makes its money off of the guys who stay at the hotel. The hotel doesn't really make much, if anything, from hair and nail appointments.

And no, the Mansion doesn't really need to worry about another "Mansion" competitor sweeping in and sweeping the rug out from under them. The legal and administrative pressures involved in keeping that place open in Medellin are enough to dissuade potential competitors, such that the Mansion doesn't really need to worry about anyone else sweeping in. As much as I would love to see a Hotel M competitor, this is simply not realistic given the legal, administrative, and cultural climate in Medellin right now.

Having said all that, I have arrived at the same conclusion as Korpu for short trips. For me, CR is a much better bet for me than MDE. Some of my reasons are the same as yours. 1) The Mansion doesn't provide a sufficient stable of chica offerings to be all that compelling. 2) The cost of the rooms at Hotel M run far more than HDR. 3) Yeah, I don't want spend my vacation trying to set up appointments through FB. I want to show up, chat up some chicks, and go to the room and enjoy myself. 4) For me, CR is a cheap and short direct flight, whereas MDE is a much longer connecting flight and more expensive flight. Of course, this last factor depends on where you live. If you live in Miami, MDE is much more convenient than where I live.

I think you might be expecting too much from the Mansion. It's not a puteria per se. It's not like being in a FKK or a Termas.

If there aren't many attractive girls there, you have to head out (or use Facebook to call in). You don't have to speak Spanish to get in a taxi and say Fase 2, Centro, etc.

I can not be away from my business for long periods of time. I, instead, visited Costa Rica in April. Though I arrived at 10 pm at the Del rey, I was partying and had a girl in my room, 30 minutes later. Two hours later, I was partying again and having a good time. I arrived around the same time in MDE at M1 and had to go to bed because there was no help in getting chicas, or arranging an English speaking driver which I volunteered to pay for. I like the city of MDE. It is modern and I am sure has much to offer, but the management at M1 has to do more for their customers and show more attention. It is only a matter of time before some American with a customer service background sweep the carpet beneath their feet. There is much competition now in CR from American owned strip clubs, to casas, to hotels, to brothels. This is good for the business. I hope that the management of M1 can read this critique and get its act together before it is too late. We spend our hard earned dollars to get to MDE not to spend long hours on facebook, but to have things readily available if the cash is there.

First trip to MDE. Sorry this should be in Travel Announcements section. However, I am focused on MDE only for this trip. Mansion is booked solid. Can someone suggest a good / safe mongering friendly (on site chicas etc) place closer to Casitas etc that can be used at headquarters. Incidently, I wud love to meet up any of you fellow troopers out there if you happen to be wasting you time and hard earned cash at about the same time.

Do the girls normally like to make out with you? If yes, then yes she will like to make out with you in the jacuzzi. If she doesn't like to make out with you on the bed then she won't like to make out with you in the jacuzzi. Spending extra for the jacuzzi depends on how much money you have and how much you like the jacuzzi, pretty simple.

As for your other question, the Mansion is always fullest around the big gringo holidays IE memorial day, July 4, labor day, Halloween, thanksgiving and super bowl week.
