First time poster here. Recently moved to Gurgaon and was looking to build up some links. Having said that, there are a small percentage of women (mostly city bred yuppies) who are more open to going out with a guy / girl she meets on such apps and are on it for the sole purpose of hooking up (fwb, causal lay, non-serious and what have you) but there is certain methodology, a certain way to approach them that I'm sorry to say eludes 98% of men on these apps and because they fail miserably at landing a date there, they bad mouth these app saying all sorts of cooked up bullshit like how all of profiles are fake etc etc.

Without going into cultural reasoning / arguments and making a long story short, Indian women will never be unabashedly, on-your-face open about their sexual needs on these apps cause everyone knows that a majority of the men on here (and in India) are still not mentally equipped to handle a girl whose got no qualms in saying that "look I need to get laid". I mean come on, many guys there throw a hiss fit if they get rejected and blast them with a volley of abuses directed at her eventually reducing her to a hooker. How do you imagine them coming to terms with a woman who's openly looking to get laid but won't even bother replying back their messages? Also even if a women's profile says she's here for "causal dating"(in the case of okcupid) that doesn't mean she'll sleep with anyone or that you need to send your dick pics or ask her "rate" or send messages like "Hi dear you want to sex"Hi dear myself kishore I want to marry you contact me on this number". Anyone who's got a friend on there will know these are some of the most common messages they get along with the very apparent staple messages / poems that are sent to every women (showing that they don't even bother to read her profile). Coming to the 'India' part I discussed above, many of these women who travel abroad on vacations etc. Will leave you dumbfounded with their suddenly developed level of 'confidence' in being blunt about expressing their desires. Again this is because of a host of issues but it all boils down to their outlook. -keeping the girl interested by ensuring that conversation goes smoothly since you're competing with 10 guys at any given amount of time. So its up to you to stimulate her so that she looks forward to your message and not the guy other guy's.

-depending on many factors, it might take hours to days to weeks before you two end up meeting (my personal best is 2 days, longest was about 9 days).

-sifting through hordes of profiles of retarded girls with a mental capacity of a 2 year old.

So all this in addition to the usual bullshit that follows when you're on a date, get her number etc etc. And don't even get me started on the bullshit that you have to write on your own personal profile cause its now one of the many "criteria" to have a decent well written profile. I personally preferred okcupid over tinder as there I don't have to sit around idly waiting for her to swipe right (or was it left?) just so to get the option of messaging her.

I haven't used these apps since the longest time (since last August) ever since I got in a relationship, it's hard and frustrating enough already to deal with all the relationship crap.
