We were put up at the Camelot, being close to Walking Street was a good idea. Got the hotel cheap at around 2200 baht a night. However, the rooms are damp, musty and stinky. It's an older property, and needs an overhaul to keep with the times. It is frequently by the group tours, where an overnight stay does no harm to it's reputation. Would not recommend. Surprisingly, saw many Russian (or maybe, Uzbek) gals staying there. Course, Indian dudes would never get a second look from them, sigh!

Having the right size helped keep it unrolled and the lube never became a factor.

The right size is everything. From what I've read up on condoms from what appear to be more academic sources, the lack of lubricant (if required) and the incorrect size are the overwhelming causes of most condom failures. For the water, I fill up at the water stations located all around where you get 6 liters for 5 baht or one liter for one baht. You need your own 6 liter container though. Either buy an initial one for around 35 baht I think (in 7/11 etc), or where I stay departing residents leave their containers behind and future guests can grab one and fill it up. I have never had any problems with the quality of the water in these little water stations. It's a great bargain, and certainly beats buying water at the convenience stores every few days.

For the accomodation, I cannot reveal the exact place, but it is in the Soi Buakhao area. The room is quite good as it is old style and measures around 30 m square. There is a double bed, Cable TV (sophon), aircon, medium sized fridge, a small desk and reasonable wifi. The bathroom is largish with an electric hot water heater. There is no cleaning service though. Yes you can bring girls back there, though I prefer to use ST rooms with ST freelancers so that they can make a mess there rather than in my room. There are a lot of these deals around I think. I find that renting by the month halves your accomodation cost compared to renting on a daily basis. The downside of the Soi Buakhao area is the lack of sidewalks for pedestrians until you hit second Road.

For food, sometimes for lunch I would head to Big see on Klang and get a very filling Chicken Curry meal with small ice coffee for 80 baht. That has brought the meal average down. So usually the dinner meal would usually be around 220 baht, but sometimes it would be 150 baht if only spag bol plus iced coffee.

Hats off to you for your discipline and working within your budget. I think Mr Ent's suggestions and input re not overpaying comes back to me. Since I usually do. LOL.

Having said that, IMO the allocation of budget in Franga's Case is more like 20-25 pc of his total budget for accommodations ( note he uses separate place when with a girl ) and 15-20 pc for food and beverage ( note he does not drink ) and the rest for girls and fun. Now, that's with a 30 k baht budget for a month.

Now, if you scale up the total budget per month to say 100 K baht per month, or even 200 K baht per month your accomdations and food will be a lower percentage of total, thus allowing more for girls and entertainment (eg go go bars, discos etc).

So, I think guys may want to focus more on the percentages and average per day that they spend for each category vs. A specific meal. At least that is my takeaway.

Also, as far as girls, YMMV may vary, but at least in my experience when they want more than say 3 K per LT (I don't do ST) , then I find their perception of their own value is so high, that it makes for a difficult interactive experience. Also why I stick to 6's ans 7's and maybe an occasional 8 , because they have less of an ego.

With a qualification, my experience has been a different from yours. In October and November I visited Thailand with a pile of Trojan Bareskin condoms, both the standard size and the magnum size. I always use a bit of lube on the head, but not the base. The standard size came off three times out of about 8 uses. The first time I thought the girl took it off to make me finish quicker. Good suggestion. Not enough people understand this. It actually reduces the risk of a condom tearing because most of the friction is at the tip and thus the point most at risk. You can also squirt some lube inside the tip of the condom before you roll it on. It will lube the area around the end of your cock and give more sensation. But it won't cause the condom to get looser further down the shaft. I recall some brand of condom came packaged with some kind of light lube inside the tip, but don't recall the name and I doubt they are among the better quality Japanese condoms that I prefer.

I have Gold level, customer service has been always been helpful in the past, and reward points accumulate quickly when paying with an Expedia card and booking from the app, on average I get a free night every 10 - 15.

No, all-you-can-eat places from 120 -150 and up, in the past there were 99 Baht ones too. Normally pretty good depending on the time, some have a very large choice, with table BBQ, lots of meats and fish, french fries, ice creams, etc.

As for food courts in malls, when Pier 21 opens up in Terminal 21 you can get noodle or rice dishes for 25-40 baht. Hopefully Pattaya will keep the same prices and have the same vendors as Bangkok. As for Central Festival food park. Don't eat there it's a rip off.

IMHO there are only a few stalls in the food courts in Terminal 21 in BKK and Central Festival in Pattaya that have good food. You get what you pay for I guess.
And the one in Central Festival is indeed a rip off and too expensive for what you get.

Mike's shopping mall has a slightly cheaper food court but the quality there is also below par.
And there's a rather expensive food court at the top floor of Royal Garden, but I never tried that one.
