Posts: 56Changing $100 and Meet Up
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for the details on pricing. I'm not one to overpay. I will always walk away if I think I'm being treated like a sucker. I've been doing this in Asia for about 15 years, but slowed down a lot recently. Anyway, is it still a pain in the ass to change $100 bills in PP? The money changer only gave me hundreds. It was a great rate, so I didn't complain.
I'm interested in meeting friends, so if anyone wants to meet-up, please inbox me. I'll be arriving on the 14th. I'd like to do some clubbing and bar hoping.

Posts: 2Hello, I am new here and live in Cambodia for 3 years.
I would like to send you my review of different spots of Phnom Penh, and then, discuss together about it.
We are now in 2018. I am a 29 years old (charming man, sorry but it is). I like to catch middle-range girls under 25 years old.
Let's discuss.
*Hostess bars.
In the dry season (no rain) and week-ends, I discovered that it's actually very difficult or even no more possible to barfine an attractive girl at a reasonable price. The most part of the lady "only drink". The salary of 100 $/ month and 1. 50 $ extra bonus (lady drinks) are enough for these girls. And, if you search enough in plenty bars, you will find someone "ok for barfine", usually a not really young and beautiful girl, at the price of: 50 $ for short time; and 100 $ for long time; "boom boom 2 times maximum" ! (passive sex).
New 2018 rule, I promise.
I feel that in the week (Monday to Thursday) and during the rainy season (August to November) it's easier to get a girl "out" and don't "over pay" because there is no one tourist customer. Only the old selfish expats:-the or at least, people not in the rush and people aware of the cost of life in Cambodia.
I meet last week-end so many tourists so frustrated in the street at around 2 AM saying things like that: " We want find girls for boom boom! It's so easy in Thailand! Here, girls only drink WTF?"
Hum, you seems right, welcome to the new Cambodia.
Something scammy is very new to me and I experiment it a lot during my last evenings there. Here the story: girls drinks with you and * do no say "no for barfine" do not say " I only drink ". Good good, I found it!
"Are you ok for long time 50 $ ?" "Humm humm, why nit why not? # drink drink ". And then! After few lady drinks paid generously and getting horny, when you want " Check bill and bar fine ". Oops, the girl no more go outside. Now changing mind. Have blood period, need to take care baby-mama, miss buffalo or other b.
Now: " I only drink sorry. Or at least 100 $ you know, Cambodia is like that ". Huch!
I am not used to this kind of cheating in Cambodia. But, my bad, I experiment more and more, time to time here:
I guess the prime minister ask the working girls to increase their prices, conspiracy, inside job.
*Massage for foreigners.
The experience it's not so sweet and colorful than in Thailand.
Here the common experience of massages in Phnom Penh:
1 - walking around the streets near the river side of Sisowath Quay, get sweat (f* hot country).
2 - putting my head behind the doors of massage parlor (usually, no body catch you outside).
3 - asking, "you have young girls for massage?? I don't like massage with grand-ma LOL LOL."
50% of massage parlors do not even understand the request and look me "confused" .
25% of parlors have only old-fat-dirty ladies available.
In the 25% left with one young girl available: many time, I order 1 girl downstairs (" you can oil massage me? You? You! OK, massage with you so " go up, get naked and then, they change me the girl by a granny and I have to / grumble-growl / to get my girl back; a young girl who cannot give decent massage and 80% of the time, do not provide any extra-special-happy-happy.
I think around 10 $ for 5 minutes working hand it's a fair deal for massage girl who earn less than 100 $ for a month of 27 days staying at work.
In Siem Reap, you can get a hand job pretty easy near the Angkor Night Market.
* Massages for Asian people in big luxurious building:
I plan to have a look at this kind of shops, but I am a shy Westerners. I need to be caught up on the street and I don't feel comfortable to go inside a big luxurious building with storefront written in Chinese only: " is it secure? They speak English? As a white skin prince charming they will try to scam me or not? Have young girls inside and if not, will be confident to say goodbye save my time and keep my money? ".
I hear about the places in Sothearos Boulevard: "Soul Golden City" ; "Elephant massage" .
Other, where?
Customers Chinese, Vietnamese, Japaneses are used to manage with that kind of place.
What about you western guys?
* KTV.
Same problem here. It's "Asian customers oriented". I guess you have to pay for room, box of drinks, rent girl (s) (100 $ burned already) and then. What? Maybe the girl do not go out?
* Darlin Darlin, Ponton:
Do we really need to pay 100 $ for a short time in Darling Darling?
Or to wait till 3 AM to meet a girl who smokes ice in Ponton?
* Brothels: Massa; shed-garage (next to the Chinese House Restaurant) ; massage parlor for "10.000 RIELS".
I have a look outside that places already and only seen fat dirty ladies who cannot speak a little word of English.
* Street: what Phnom, 51 Golden Sorya Mall.
(Promotion) you can take the risk to get HIV for 10 $ with a dirty lady without teeth anymore. She will be happy to stole everything in your home if you sleep well.
* To conclude:
I stay in this country for few time now. I really love Cambodian people, I am sweet and respectful with any of them. I am used to pay extra money for a job well done.
I understand first they miss some "ambition" : eating chicken feet everyday is enough.
I think also they have cultural mind of "lazy people". OK, they suffer of war 40 years before.
But, they are so poor. The globalisation is here right now! They don't do anything with their country, then, Chinese buy everything: open casino-brothel and put Khmers at work for a nasty salary, when they don't forget to pay them; Chinese also kill khmer motorbike drivers every weeks in the busy streets, driving so fast.
I feel so upset to see people who can potentially get 1000 $/2000 $/3000 $/ month as freelancers (like in Thailand) get scammed by other Asian people who take advantage of the political situation of Cambodia. So sad to see that Cambodians working better as slaves than they work good as entrepreneur, for their own pocket.
Thailand is a modern copy of Cambodia and the land of smile long time taken advantage of the neurotics Westerners to get so many money, building all the Issaan with our perversion.
It seems Cambodia will remain empty. A Chinese annex, like the Tibet.
Thanks for reading, hope to collect a lot of opinion here.

I don't live in Sihanok but I've been to Sihanok so many times within these 3 yrs that I lost count. And each time I stayed in Sihanok about 2-3 weeks.
And I'm very familiar with sihanok as I always rent the bike from Mr Mohn whose shop is directly opp Fortuna Casino resort to roam everwhere into the rice fields and into hilltops.
Sihanoukville:
Sihanok is a money laundering paradise. And so there's a big wave of China people coming to wash their money and turn it into gold. As you already know, almost all casinos (now at least 15 legitimate casinos) in Sîhanok have very very little gamblers playing. In fact most of these casinos don't have any gamblers at all. In spite of the fact that almost all casinos have extremely poor business, yet more new casinos are being built, obviously money laundering is the key reason for such bloom. And so with the influx of China-manned-casinos, it brought along many China staffs into Sihanok thus inflating prices. It was so ridiculous that in shanghai KTV, next to fortuna casino, they charge a China hostess usd300-500 for take away.
However, in spite of the influx of China people, I still enjoy going to Sihanouk because I enjoy fucking pussies just by paying usd 5-15 for st. My friend love fucking 3 wls one after the other, and he only blast his missile on the last wl. I encourage members to take advantage of cheap ST as in what Phnom (in PP) and in Sihanouk (chicken farm and KTV street), to crank yr manhood into as many pussies as possible before you download yr bullets into yr last WL. Its really quite fun, funny, adventurous and v satisfying.
In sihanok KTV street, try not to pay more than usd10 for ST. Of course its also v gd to be generous.
The ambience in Phnom Penh is v different from Sihanouk. PP is more rowdy whilst Sihanouk is more quiet but it have many nice beaches. In Sihanok I love enjoying seafood at night in orchestral beach. Anybody that come, its a must to enjoy yr seafood by the orchaeuteal beach to enjoy the ambience. When I left Sihanouk on 2/1/2018, my friend told me orchaeuteal beach is now under intensive renovation. Anyway in 2 weeks time I will be back in Sihanouk and PP.
Phnom Penh:
I really enjoy the ambience of the hostess bars around s136 in pp as I got the chance to oggle those ladies sitting outside.
There are many places in pp to get cheap ST (usd10-20) eg in what Phnom, svay pak (there's about 8 KTV along the road with gals sitting outside), and along st2004 not far fm pp airport.
For those who have time and love backpacking, I recommend the following route, to stop and stay at each town: start from Pattaya -Bangkok-Poipet (Thai Cambodian border) - Siem reap. Phnom penh- Sihanoukville- Bavet (Cambodia Vietnam border) - Ho chi Minh.

SacredMan has the price right. That said he obviously knows the score and is willing to walk away from bullshit overpricing. Slowandeasy is paying way too much so he is either a newbie or doesn't care to bargain. 100-120 bucks for a girl in PP is over the top but many will pay it. Especially true of newbies / one week millionaires. If you are not desperate you should end up paying somewhere in between. Have a look at SMs view on Sihanoukville. I live there and have to agree. It is a [CodeWord140] poor destination these days. You can still get laid but it is not the easy laid back place it once was. I am leaving end of April.

For any freelancers in phnom penh, ST USD20, LT Usd40.
In fact, in what phnom, I pay only ST 10, LT 35.
This is Cambodia, and if I'm a Cambodian, I too will quote as high as possible to a foreigner, just trying my luck.
We live in a world survival of the fittest. May the best man win.

Hey Everyone,
I used to visit Cambodia and have great fun. It has been close to ten years since I've had action. Can anyone give me a quick update on prices so I don't get ripped of on my upcoming trip. What I'm looking for is:
ST / LT from Girl Bar.
ST / LT Freelance from Pontoon or other club to take home.
I can never work the search function and scrolled back about 8 pages without an answer. Your help is appreciated and I'll try to post a report when I can.

Posts: 489I realize that for those of you who've been mongering for a while, this information is old news and much of it can be gleaned from other corners of the internet. But for those folks new to mongering or unsure how things work in PP I hope this info will be helpful.
I've lived in PP for +6 months now and gotten dozens of oil massages around town (and in Siem Reap). I've gotten a happy ending in +90% of my oil massages by following a few basic rules. If others have pointers to add please respond. I'm sure different techniques work for different folks. Below is what nearly always works for me.
1) Select a massage parlor in the tourist areas along the river. The 10% of places where I was unsuccessful were all in established neighborhoods. In the tourist areas, I'm pretty much at 100%.
2) Go during off-hours or be the only customer. I prefer to go mid-day on a weekday and I check to see how many pairs of shoes are at the front door. If I see Western style shoes I either come back another time or pick a different place. An empty massage shop means ladies are not making any money and my thought is they're more willing to work for a tip to make some money during slow times.
3) Select a 1 hour oil massage. You will not get a happy ending with a foot massage.
4) Be friendly to the masseuse. If you are friendly and maybe can say a few words in Khmer, you will make the lady more comfortable and with her comfort comes her willingness to be nice back to you.
5) Oil massages are done totally nude. When you go into the room you will be told to take off your clothes and lay down. Do not leave your underwear on, do not put the towel over you or even next to you, do not put on the massage shorts. Lay on your stomach totally nude and when the lady comes in say Hello, in Khmer, but do not make eye contact.
6) If she covers your ass with towel all is not lost. Let her cover you. She may ask if it's ok to cover you. Ask if it's ok to leave it off. If she covers you let the tower stay there. When she works her way up to your ass, slide the towel up a bit to let her have more to work with. Then you can ask if it's ok to remove the towel. If she agrees and starts massaging your butt, this is a great sign. If she start massaging your inner thigh near your balls. You're in..
Thanks again.Last edited by Admin3; 03-26-18 at 23:38.

Posts: 1026Hotel location. Does it matter?
Been looking at hotels in Cambodia for maiden trip.
So far LE Grand Palais looks promising esp due to closeness to Crycee (breakfast ok? But. Seeing cheap & safe transport is by tuk tuk my question is does it really matter as long as you stay around central market or Riverside?
Pontoon seems close too.
My wishes. Decent sized room, pool, decent Western breakfast options and quiet at night. Prefer FL or pick ups and bring home to hotel room so obviously GF. Price range 60 -80 US.
Read about delivery by Tuk tuk drivers so just wait in room and see what turns up?
Any assistance appreciated.

Posts: 3118Google & Phnom Penh robbery.
Not sure what is the definition of "safe" here. One can google "Phnom Penh robbery" or "Bangkok robbery" to get an idea about safety level. If you can read Chinese, robbery and briberies and reported quite often in Chinese forum. Maybe the robber only target Asian with a pack or showing a phone, but who knows.

Posts: 6593I have never felt unsafe in Phnom Penh. There is no reason to unless you wander off the beaten path. Same applies to Pattya and Bangkok. Stay where there are people and you are good. Just don't act like a fool or p1ss people off.
AskeAske is exactly correct. Traffic should be anyone's main concern in the SE Asia countries.
