So I have been doing a bit of fishing this trip in places where I normally don't fish. Bottle line, success can be had in almost all of the cities here in The Middle East; Doha, Kuwait, and even Amman. And to the old reliable MR and found a number for an agency. I was in Amman for the first time about a month ago. Spent about a week here for work. Went out once to check out the local mongering scene. This is my experience on that night. Hopefully this helps others who find themselves in Amman.

I was leaving a bar / restaurant around midnight to 1 am intending to just go back to my hotel and call it a night. It was a Friday night. There were a few taxi drivers waiting outside the restaurant. So the one starts talking me up, getting me interested in meeting women in the night clubs. I knew that Amman is not a great place for it, and furthermore is costly and not worth it. But my guard was down after having a few drinks, and I'm always curious to try something new. First we agreed that if I didn't like it to come back and that it would only cost me 5 JOD to go there and back.

So off we went to the place the taxi driver had in mind. It wasn't too far a way. It was hotel, some Hotel Blue. Nice place, nothing dark or seedy or anything. A few bouncers out front. No cover charge. Its around 1 am when we got there. It was a fairly large bar in the ground floor / lower level of the hotel. The lighting was dim, but not dark. A number of girls there, all Arabs (no russians I saw). All fairly decent looking, mostly 7's some 8's and a 9. All seemed in their 20's. Most were light skin color. The seating was all comfortable couches. The bar area had stools. It wasn't too crowded. About 30 or people. Most of the guys had a girl sitting with them on the couches. Girls were dressed seductively. Somewhat like strippers. There wasn't any music going on or any shows or anything like that.

I headed to the bar, and since I was here got a drink. A bottle of beer. I knew the price going in - 10 JOD ($14 US). Made sure not to pay an extra 2 JOD. For their 10% tax. A few girls immediately come up to me to flirt. But I take my time. I"m in no rush. The one girl very cute girls comes up, she's from Syria. Apparently many of the girls here are from Syria (or maybe they are saying that to win the sympathy vote? She's wearing hot jean shorts and a very revealing top. She's flirting with me, getting me to buy her a drink. Again I know that is 20 JOD (28 US) for the girls drink. Which is supposedly whiskey but probably really is some apple juice or something. Her english is limited. The rule of thumb is one you buy a girl a drink, she supposed to hang out with you for about 15 minutes per drink. This one was impatient. After about 5 minutes or so whe wanted another drink. I wasn't having it and stood firm. Meanwhile there was some light touching and groping going on. Nothing too intense. Once she realized I wasn't buying her another drink anytime soon, she drifted away. Which was fine with me.

The manager then introduced me to another girl, one who spoke more english. The other's girls english was limited to make for quick conversation. This girl also said she was from Syria. Was a bit older, 27. Very nice smile, but a bit heavier than the other girls, but still pretty good looking. I flirted with her more than the other girl. A lot more touching and grinding against each other going on. I was still up at the bar, standing. I also brought her a drink. This one wasn't as pushy, took her time. We ended up kissing for a bit and so I got her another drink. So that's a total of 3 drinks for the girls now - $85 US. I've been there about an 1-1. 5 hours. I've had 2 beers.

There were lots of waiters and managers floating around. The managers and staff did pressure you to buy drinks for the girls. But nothing out of the ordinary for these type of clubs. And they don't seem to cheat you or pad your bill or things like that. They are clear on their prices but don't mention the 20% tax, so upfront I told them what I would pay total for my beers and the girls drinks and they accepted it - 10 JOD for my beers, and 20 JOD for girl's drinks, no extra for taxes.

The girls are available to take back to your hotel. Not sure what the cost is. But my taxi driver said around 100 JOD. ($140 US). For about 2 hours or so. I wasn't too interested because the girls I had talked to had limited english and the one I was flirting with most had plans next day to go out of town with her boyfriend / pimp. There wasone girl that I found very stunning, a 9, but she was talking to some guy at the bar when I first noticed her. I tried asking the staff to get her to come over but they didn't want to play interference.

The place closed up around 3-3:30 am. I left with my taxi driver. No girl in tow. Which was fine. The taxi driver, having stayed with me all this time (2-3 hours) and actually helping me out (his english was decent), drove me back to my hotel and we agreed on 10 JOD ($14 US).

Total damage - 110 JOD ($155 US).

Overall. Unless you have cash to burn (like 200-300 US) just for hanging out with the girls, some drinks, and light flirting and touching, then stay away. Its not worth it at all. There isn't any place in Amman that's decent, most of the places are similar to this one or worse. Some charge a 20 JOD table fee and 20-40 JOD for girls drinks. Not sure what men these places are catering to. Probably wealthy local Arabs who want white Russian girls.

The pro's. The girls are cute and dressed sexily to lounge with on couches. They are available to take back to your hotel. Seems no one is out to rob or cheat you. Its just expensive for what you get, especially for a country like Jordan.

Beware of the taxi drivers trying to steer you to these places, obviously they will get their commissions, but they all go on about how cheap it is and how beautiful the girls are, like we don't know our shit.

Another place a taxi driver mentioned was Imperial palace / place hotel. Seems the hotel bars have the lock on these night clubs featuring women of the night. But I'm not 100% sure.

Amman itself is an expensive place in general. Which is surprising for one of the poorer countries of the world. Well technically is 93rd richest. Prices for coffees are like $5-6 US, beers $8-10 US, meals $30. If it wasn't for work, there is no way I would come here for fun.
