Posts: 4638Great report, Tijuana! I am sorry to see that Curry's and Caesar's have closed. I took a Brazilian out of Curry's and a Paraguyan out of Caesar's and they blew my mind. I wish I would have seen you request and told you about Los Hierros, best steakhouse I have ever been to. The steaks are great, and their Waldorf salad would have blown your mind. Don't ask me why.

I think Paraguay is the best value in SA, and Brazil has the best women. I have done most of SA as you have. Chile and Ecuador are all I have left outside of Guyana and Suriname, and I have no desire to go there.

Posts: 2841Point taken. When I went to Argentina for the first time, I had to pay for the visa. I paid for the one in Brazil because I love the women and food.

Posts: 201To each his own but since both Argentina and Uruguay have seen the error of their ways and have rescinded all entry / reciprocity fees I'll be damned if I'm going to pay this third world country $ 160 USD for the privilege of spending USA One to two thousand in their country for the week. I think they are losing more than me but again to each his own. No hate here and am grateful for all the excellent info provided.

Posts: 2379Visiting Sta. Cruz de la Sierra ten years' ago (because it was the cheapest Bolivian city to get to) the business model in their club-type places (like zona roja in Bogota) was on site, where prying them out to your hotel room was not what they wanted to do. Interestingly, the guys working in the hotels were always asking me if I wanted chicas, and whenever I said of course, what showed up at the room was the same girls from the casas and clubs (delivered to spec)! Overall, Sta Cruz, an entirely provincial city with very little to nothing on offer once you're past the novelty aspect.

Posts: 2841Four night romp in Santa Cruz, Bolivia!
Why Bolivia? I've never been and I always wanted to visit the country. Why Santa Cruz? I would not survive in the highest capital in the world, La Paz! Plus, I was going to Asuncion, Paraguay, and I figured I would just hop over to Bolivia. Thus, it was a double county romp in the making.
First and foremost, I want to thank World Travel 69 for his excellent map. There was very little information that I found, but his map was golden!
Logistics:
Flight:
I flew Amaszonas airlines out of Asuncion to Santa Cruz and back for $320.
The Visa on Arrival:
A passport is required to enter Bolivia. USA Citizens arriving by air may obtain a "visa en arribo" (visa on arrival) at the airport (VVI) in Santa Cruz. This is a multiple entry visa valid for 10 years and costs $160, payable in USA Currency (credit cards are not accepted).
*IMPORTANT: US Dollar notes must be in perfect condition. Old, torn, or marked notes will not be accepted by officials (I used new unmarked 20 dollar notes).
US Citizens Must Present:
6 month validity remaining on passport.
2 copies of passport information page.
2 passport photos (No longer needed)
Evidence of a hotel reservation (OR Airbnb reservation).
Detailed printed itinerary of your time in Bolivia (For this, I just printed out places I wanted to see and places where I wanted to eat from Trip Advisor, and yes, they did ask for the document).
Exit ticket out of Bolivia.
Proof of economic solvency (credit card, cash, or a current bank statement) - They did not ask me to show proof.
Immigration did not seem very happy when I arrived. The first question: Why are you here? Well, I wanted to reply, "I'm here to fuck some of your putas! Where should I go first? Do you have any hot sisters, cousins, or nieces?" BUT, I knew better! I replied, "I've never been to your country and I'm only a simple tourist. ".
Logging:
I rented a plush two bedroom / two bathroom apartment on Airbnb for $80 per night. The place had 24 hour security and my host was great.
Money:
The rate I received at the bank was 6. 85 Boliviano to 1 USD. The bank did ask to see my passport and wanted an address and phone number where I was staying in Santa Cruz.
Getting around town:
Getting from the airport, I paid less than 3 bucks to the apartment. The exchange rate at the airport was the same rate at the bank. Returning to the airport, the driver wanted twice the rate; pinche bastardo!
I took taxis everywhere. None of them were metered, so I always asked how much they would charge me before I got into the cab. They were all pretty honest and the taxis were dirt cheap, 2 to 5 bucks pretty much anywhere in town.
Language:
Very few people, taxi drivers, and restaurant workers knew how to speak anything but Spanish. I struggled at times, but that was part of the fun of exploring a different country.
Communication:
I have the T-Mobile North American plan. My plan gave me unlimited data at 2 G speed, calls at 20 cents per minute and free texts. Thus, I started using WhatsApp on my regular phone. I started chatting with my apartment host before I left. As long as I had a WiFi signal, WhatsApp was free of charge. I was chatting on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Skype; including video calls for no charge whatsoever.
Where I ate in Santa Cruz:
La Casa del Camba (twice): Excellent local dishes!
El Alijibe Combia tipica: Good, but the one above was better IMHO.
Republica: Skip the place, average food to say the least.
Overall thoughts on food: I only ate in three restaurants and thought only one was outstanding for the traditional food; La Casa del Camba.
The Venues:
With the help of World Travel 69's map, I was off and running the first night. The map had strip clubs and smaller clubs, kind of like casas. I mixed them both every night and tried to get as much information to update the map. But, there were so many, I may have gotten more than half way through the places listed.
I was determined to gather as much information as possible. In each bar / club / venue, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. As each night went on, the more I drank. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to correct me. All of the prices are in Bolivianos, some in USD. I'm now drinking vodka and soda water when I travel. The fichas were various prices, I am quoting the lowest ficha price.
These places are either closed, new, OR are regular clubs:
Queen Club and Bar: Just a regular silly disco.
Cesar Palace: Closed.
New Curry Show: Closed.
Aqua Luna Show: Closed.
Club Capricho: Old name, now the name is Kaprichoos.
Tiffanys Show Internacional: Went by there twice; closed.

Overall thoughts on Santa Cruz:
I had a great stay in Santa Cruz. I enjoyed what the city had to offer. The city was very tranquil, the women were hot, and the people were very friendly. And the regional food was pretty damn good. I also like the fact that I HAD to speak Spanish to communicate with the locals / chicas.
I had a great time exploring and documenting stuff for our community; no regrets whatsoever!
Would I ever return to Santa Cruz? Nah, too far of a trip and my immigration friends didn't seem to care for me.
As always, just my dos pinche pesos of course!

I can not give you permission to use the Map, because.
For some reason Google says you do not have a GMail account.
It is the same for the Medellin Map.

I went to Santa Cruz for the first time for a business trip. I did not go hunting but did see something interesting.
Three old men at the hotel lounge with three hot women so I can only surmise that there is an active P4 P scene.
From what I could see of the city it is not a place I would visit for a vacation. By the way, it took 12 hours to get there from the USA East Coast. If I were to spend that much travel time I would be heading for Frankfurt FKK's, Philippines or Thailand.

Greetings!
I'll be visiting Santa Cruz later this month and want a massage after the overnight flight. Has anyone visited Pamelita VIP? I'll be grateful for information on other locations as well.
Regards,
Richard.

Posts: 1Sounds like someone I'm trying to locate
Met a girl in the US that fits her to a T. I've been trying to locate her since she left. I don't have PM so I can't request her number but I will add a photo and let you look at her, no face, and see if you recognize her. I'm headed south later this month and would like to know if she is in Santa Cruz de la Sierra or if I need to look for her in Paraguay. If you see this just say looks like her or not.

Hi there,
Will be travelling to VVI around the 14th of February.
Looking for some advise, looking for a nice, clean place to find some beautiful women, or maybe just someone who can show me around for 1 night. I speak Spanish so that might help.
Also need a recommendation on a nice hotel that is friendly.
Thanks fellows.
