Well my time in BKK was a blast had a good time with some ladies, this one girl I found on cracker. Her name was Diane forget where she was from but she was just visiting and working. I think I might of paid 3500-4000 baht. 3rd visit, few days ago: Asked to sit with two girls from the stage. After they're done dancing they join us. Waitress pushes us to buy them ladydrinks, pointing at the 320 Baht double lady drink. It politely tell her in Thai that we would like to have a brief chat with them first. Why would I invest in ladydrinks before knowing whether they are actually worth pursuing, or even go with a customer at all (and not just are stupid coyotes). Waitress pulls them away from us immediately. You no buy drink, you no lady. " One of the girls couldn't care less. Mai pen rai Mae" she says on Thai, indicating that she didn't want to sit with us anyways. She was a pretty one, perfect body, tall, light skin, very sexy. She knows she can better milk a Japanese guy.

My friends and I decide to finish our beers and then leave. While we are sitting there drinking and chatting, a girls hits my legs pretty hard. She's one of the older, ugly girls on stage. Again, one of those nasty Isan dragons you normally see barking at her poor farang husband. I was sitting with my legs crossed, one foot pointing at the stage. She is furious; insists I have to sit without my legs crossed. Don't get me wrong, I know Thai culture, I have lived here many years, I speak, read, and write the language. I know pointing at someone or something using your feet is an insult. But that refers to intentionally pointing. Sitting with your legs crossed isn't a problem, and isn't perceived as an insult by Thais. I actually double-checked with some of my Thai friends later. That girls was just looking for a fight.

When the bill came, they pulled the usual coin-scam. My friend, who's never been here, just took the whole change. The waitress wouldn't leave until she got a 20 Baht note as tip.

I can only suggest to avoid that place.

Agreed! Their ruthlessness is as fucked up as their looks! Horrible business especially from mamasan, how do you expect to get repeat customers. (Ladyboy bar or not) if you let your employees play their customers like that?? This really changes my perspective on all of Thailand. I known Thailand to be benevolent and peaceful seeing how they respect their king and religion. Epic fail

Not sure Dino if you're still here or how long you're planning to stay but don't let what's happened so far put you off. Thailand is magic and your nativity which on a certain level is actually refreshing will sooner rather than later result in some good memories. Mostly they are not out to scam you but without being paranoid you do need to know it happens especially if you give off the vibe of being an innocent newbie. Get back in the saddle. Best of luck.

Every WG seems to be from Isan. In soapies, on street. I understand that economic opportunities and culture decide who ends up in market or not, but come on. These used to some variety in the past, one would often find girls from chiang rai in Nataree or girls from Bangkok on MPs but this time all I got is isan isan and isan.

I am not too keen to join elite clubs but there has to be some variety. Perhaps I need to venture away from soi 24/1 area.

Take the mix of RLD new visitors every day in nana (a few thousands generic tourists land everyday in bkk so a 10% of them visiting (not necessarily partaking the action at full speed) and then check how many are the regular, repeat, experienced ones.

Maybe 5-10% of them (being generous).

That 5-10% will not be trapped.

The remaining 90/95% is the target for those girls.

They might not trap you tomorrow or the day after if you become a regular but they have good chances to score with their behaviour.

It is just a matter of numbers.

Sadly more than a few places now, seems to be becoming pretty routine. I even got hit with it at Afterskool on a trip a while back. I drink there a bit but it's the first time they had done this.

And the most annoying part is, that the mixer is usually free (in this case the coke). I spent my week in Bangkok and Pattaya drinking Jameson & soda, I never paid for the soda, except when ordered as a bottle. On the check it was always written soda mixer free.
