    Hey TSS,

You picked a good location with Annton hotel, I'm staying at Mercure BH which is also close to the El Retiro area. I'd recommend this area for first timers. The Mercure $70 US / night, is a nice hotel, no complaints. But I'll probably switch to Dann Carlton Hotel and Spa to bring back company easier. It might be stupid, but I don't like the awkwardness / jealousy of seeing the lobby people after I've brought in girls. Not a big issue at Dann Carlton Hotel and Spa as you don't have to go by the front desk. This is an expensive high end hotel though at about $90/ night, breakfast there is amazing. What can you get for $90/ night in the states?

I'll be in Bogota until Friday 22nd, probably won't do any intercity travel. I've been to both Medellin and Cartegena only once, both are good. Most of the action in Cartagena is at the clock tower area and surrounding clubs, but you'll have to wait until around midnight for the girls to start appearing. Expect to pay 300 K COP for the very hot girls and 200 K COP for better than average. There are short time rooms near the clock tower for a reasonable fee, or you can bring them back to your hotel if you're staying somewhere decent. TLN will be a bit more but it probably won't last the whole night before she leaves. I guess if you can work it so you pay in the morning that might work. Two days is all you need to see the city. The beaches there suck, but there is one called playa blanca that is very nice. I took a bus there through Opitours that left early in the morning and came back in the afternoon. Others probably have better info as I'm a newbie in that city.

Plenty of girls in Medellin, main clubs I know of are La Isla (biggest and most expensive, 300 K COP /45 minutes, nice room), Faces Dos (180 K COP /45 min, decent room), Lunera (same as Faces Dos). Parque Lleres is where tourists hang out and there are street walkers there, some pretty hot. I'm interested in trying the facebook scene there but my fake facebook account got banned and not sure I want to use my real one. Not hard to find people to hang out with there.

Tried paying for membership but got an error. Plus from USA that's why.

I got a session with the only doable girl there (7 maybe). She lied about services she offered to get me in for 50 K COP, but didn't deliver in the room. Better than nothing though. I guess the only option for today will be to go through the escort sites.

I'll have a whatsapp number later today if anyone want's to hang out.

Koslord, I end up staying at Atton hotel. I'll be in Colombia till the 25th but traveling around to see other cities as well. How long in each city will depend on if I can find a guide and if I've gone around enough, get a little taste in each city but I will have to be back in Bogota for my flight home. I would be back in Bogota for the day or 2 if you want to hang out. If that works for you we can find a meeting Point. I don't have a full in membership here so can't pm.

How many people that spoke English did you run into? How difficult was it talking and getting around? I speak some basic Spanish (From school back in the day and from recent trips) and have been going through some tutorials ever since I decided to hit up Bogota but I still can't figure out what area to get a airbnb in that's close (walking distance 10-15 minutes) to some good inexpensive places but far away that some local wouldn't automatically thinks the reason I'm staying in the area.

I get into Bogota late Saturday night and I can show you around Sunday and Monday. I've been to Bogota several times and speak some Spanish. For such a short stay you'll mostly want to hang in Santa Fe area. PM me if interested. I'll probably be in Bogota all week unless I decide to make an excursion to Medellin or Cartagena. But the plane prices are about $100 US each way which is a bit high, so probably won't do it.

To answer some questions earlier in the thread, very few people speak English in Bogota and there are very few gringos. Not like Medellin where there are gringos everywhere. Travel by taxi is pretty easy if you know the destination address, and very cheap and easy if you use uber, which is recommended.

Northern part of Bogota is the nice / rich / expensive area. The south part is El Centro in the La Candeleria area which is dirtier / poorer area. This is where the gold museum and Montserrat are at. The Santa Fe Barrio with all brothels are also near El Centro, which is the main area for mongering.

    Santa Fe closed for weekend.

Great Bnbs in Teusaquillo area which is close to Santa Fe- I have had many friends and clients stay all around there- 10 minute walk.

You should PM Woodman09 to ask about his service but you need to buy a membership to enable your PM.

    Hi,

Currently using this one from a well trusted European provider: https://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_global/freedome.

Does not require any technical skills. Just install the app for your device and select virtual location. If you cannot access something just change the location.

    Airport Run!

    Hi guys.

I've got a 5 HR layover Saturday evening at the airport. Any options for a quick blow and go near the airport? Since I haven't been to BOG (flying in from MDE), I don't think I can manage a full city run, and expect once I land, check in, etc, it won't be quite 5 hrs.

Let me know if there's anything out near the airprot. Otherwise, seems like scheduling a rendezvous might be the way to go, but likewise, don't know the options!

Thanks, and if you get the chance, don't miss The Blue down in Barranquilla. !

    Altitude sickness in Bogota

Am I understanding correctly that Saturday and Sunday are going to be dead in Santa Fe and elsewhere due to the dry law?

Arrived in Bogota yesterday. Guys, soroche hit hard.

BTW, no one here knows what "soroche" is. Must be a Peruvian thing. Here they call it mal de altura, if I'm not confusing anything.

It hit me differently than Cuzco. In Cuzco I had a severe shortness of breath and headaches for the first day, but the next day I was fine. In Bogota, I didn't feel anything at first. Then I had a beer. My heart began pounding. Then I went slightly uphill back to my hotel. It was a short one-block walk, but I felt exhausted. Got in the room, lay down for 15 minutes. My heart rate kept pounding. Accompanied by a headache and bad pressure around my temples.

The coco leaves tea did nothing for me.

Decided to take it easy and found a tantra massage called Mantra. $140 for (supposedly 1 hour 20 minutes. Had a very nice massage with a nice tantra-like finish, done by a girl called Carolina. Nice girl and not a bad finish, but I had much better in Siem Reap and Hamburg of all places. The receptionist never bothered to give me a change from 150.

Thought I'd call it a night expecting to wake up relaxed and recharged. No such luck. Today did some touristy things in Candelaria and Monseratte. Every step uphill was a challenge. Got back to the hotel, had a couple of drinks. As I'm writing this, lying in my bed, my heart is making 130 a minute. It's clear to me that I'm not capable of drinking or making any physical exercises tonight. Am I fucked or what? What if this persists for all 5 days I'm here?

Should I ask a girl to do all the work for me, LOL?

As I'm living here, I don't need hotels anymore. But a good friend stayed in Viaggio Virrey in February I believe and had definitevely no issue with surfing on sex sites or bringing every night another girl in his room.

Most importantly it also adds full privacy to all your data traffic as long as the VPN provider is reliable.

Thanks for great reports and sorry for my off topic comment.
Good point Jalle, I use VPN through a company called PIA (private internet access) and it's on all my Linux desktop computers. Didn't cross my mind to put in on my cheap travel chrome book for some reason. Also have a cheap Linux laptop that I could take instead. I'm probably going to stay in several new hotels in this upcoming trip so your suggestion might be helpful.
