This mostly happens to me in the US when initially talking to Spanish speakers and it happens when initially speaking with Thais in Thailand. I think it is more so that they are not listening and are only anticipating that you do not and are not speaking their language.

Had an amazing trip to Medellin. This time stayed at Provenza Lofts in Park Lleras instead of mansion. Wanted to do facebook scene. Flight was delayed by half an hour. Landed at 1230 am. My hotel pick up didn't show up. Had to take private taxi as there was no white taxi available at 1 am. Reached hotel at 2 am. Room was very nice.

Met my first girl. Jennifer came over at 230 am. She has very pretty face and most beautiful eyes you can imagine. Pure GFE experience. But she is not slim. Go to the Medellin Lists thread on the bottom half of the Colombia forum page. Look for the link to the Medellin map and to the accompanying PDF file which lists all the casa names and addresses. Before you leave your room, write down the address on a piece of paper and hand it to the taxi driver. You don't need the name, because the driver won't know the name.

I am able to get access to the map but unable to get the PDF. I do not have subscription and not able to get one now.

I am currently living 5 minutes walk from the hotel you mentioned. If you want I can just walk in there and ask about being chica friendly.

The surrounding streets and location is filled with restaurants, ATMs, drug stores, grocery stores and quite easy to access anything you need.

Given that said, during night time there will be party going on all over places and loud music as well. Very lively environment and safe. You will hear the music inside your hotel too. Personally I prefer this kind of environment because of my young age and lot of chicas to pick up and ask for date during day and night time. As the chicas here are not regular street girls. It might depend on your looks and language skills. Let me know if you need any more information around this place.

You can try San Peter apartment suites on Calle 41 A. Despite the name they're setup more like a hotel with a front desk that has at least 2 English speaking employees. Rooms are around $40 a night and they're definitely chica friendly. I stayed there for week without any problems.

This hotel is located in the middle of the the La 70 area of Laureles. It is a good area where you can walk around day or night. Noise may be a problem, especially on weekends when the bars are open late. I would expect it to be a very nice hotel. The lobby looks nice. I would not expect it to be chica friendly. There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. This is also walking distance to the Estadio metro station.

Any and all phones have to be unlocked before you can use a "foreign" SIM. Foreign SIM means a SIM card that was not issued by the service provider (T-Mobile, Vodafone, A&T, Claro, Tigo, etc.) that subsidized the phone. If you travel internationally on a regular basis, an unlocked phone is very helpful.

I'm quite sure your iphone has to be unlocked for any other sim card to work in it.
