If you want recent reports, just read the forum. As Balboa noted, start at New Life. There are other casas in the same vicinity that are easy walking distance from each other. During daytime, the area is perfectly fine. I went to Aiffe, which was nice, but nothing extraordinary. Many more casas are just a short cab ride away. Its all easier than you think. As always, bring your own quality rubbers (unless you have a problem with premature ejaculation), because the casas all stock the same cheap condoms that WGs use worldwide from Berlin to Bali. Don't acquiesce to pleas for a tip, unless you feel like giving them one and the service was good. Fair warning: I found the WGs in Medellin to give the most consistently mediocre service of the nine or so destinations I've mongered at in recent history. Of course, your mileage will vary, and you might have better luck that I did in Medellin. (In the DR, the service tends to be good or bad, and you can't trust the Dominicanas.) However, the Colombianas are typically respectful and give you the time and services that you pay for. Just don't expect French kisses, analingus or anything unprotected. Keep your expectations reasonable and you should have a good time.

I have looked at the PDF and done some research, but would appreciate anyone with recent experience at any of them to share. It is common in Colombia to bring a chaperone on your first date, but if she's a hooker I don't see the point.

Personally, as far as prepagos go, I've found fuck'them first then dance with them and have dinner and fuck'them again for the price of one fuck works out better.

A lot of first time FB girl want to bring a friend along, go to a club or parque lleras or just go out to eat and have you pay their taxis and drinks + with the plan to go back to your place at the end. The good thing about this is for the cost of a taxi and a couple of drinks, you can meet a couple of chicas and walk if you are not into it.

I request to join too. I agree that most girls are not good looking, more like "barrio" girls and yes with lots of tatoos, some times I like tatoos but usually not my first choice, but also have to admit few girls looks really really good. I am looking for some advice for a first timer to Medellin. I am considering staying at one of the mansions. My concern is safety. I read years ago Medellin used to be a dangerous place. Is there anything to be concerned about if I decide to venture out during the day? I know common sense applies.

I have been to Dominican republic and felt very safe in Sousa day and night. I'd also like to know for those of you who have been to Blackbeards is the mansion a similar environment? My Spanish is not that great, so not sure if that will cause any problems.

I've been to both BB in the DR and the mansion in Medellin about a dozen times. Mansion is even a lot better environment cause it is located in the financial part ok MDE. Much like a high class part of large US city. Fancy malls, etc. Mansion girls ion my opinion are hotter. Only difference is there is no set schedule for girls. They came in & out as they please, but are vetted, like BB girls. Bad ones will be banned from there. I find MDE to be safer than Sousa. I've been all over the city in the day. Of course I avoid the ghetto neighborhoods. Water is safe to drink. MDE is a first world country with 3rd world prices.

Your concerns remind me of my first trip outside the US and to Latin America a thousand years ago. I went to Rio. This was pre-Internet and I didn't have that to fall back on. I planned my first week in Rio and the second week in a Club Med about 2 hours outside Rio. The reason for Club Med was that I was paranoid that I would be lost without some structure. I had a fantastic time the first week in Rio. I managed to learn a little Portuguese and that was enough to get by. Actually, the cariocas laughed at my Portuguese (it's a tough language!) but appreciated that I at least tried to speak it. I think you'll find the same attitude in Medellin and wherever you go. After one day in Club Med, I left and went back to Rio. I hated the gated community (I could have been in Disneyland for all I knew) and loved the adventure of discovering Rio on my own. Although I'm not intimately familiar with Blackbeards, I equate it to something like Club Med, sort of a gated community.

Traveling is a wonderful adventure. Having some fear beforehand is only natural.

Perhaps this will help. I've been traveling, mostly solo, for 30 years. The purpose of my trips are never primarily to monger, though it's often secondary. What is your reason or reasons for going to Medellin or is it just to monger? For example, on my last trip a few months ago to Medellin, my primary purpose was mountain biking. However, I did my share of mongering.

I like the thrill of traveling and adventure. I'm spoiled and want decent accommodations, not necessarily upscale. In Medellin, for me that means spending $50+/ night. What is your budget?

My Spanish is only basic (but improving) but I've never had a problem in any of the many Latin American countries I visited. If you can speak basic Spanish and brush up on it before your trip, Medellin won't be a problem. Of course it would be better to speak fluent Spanish, but it's not a dealbreaker.

While I am far from an expert on Medellin, most places other than certain parts of El Centro are safe if you exercise common sense. Others can direct you to specific areas if you supply more info. Personally, I would never consider staying at a place like Blackbeards. To each his own, but I like to immerse myself as much as possible in the culture of the area I'm staying in.

You may want to consider Poblado though it's not my cup of snot. It's safe and lack of Spanish is not a problem. It's also expensive and touristy, the latter reason being a dealbreaker for me. It depends what you're looking for.

Which brings us to the disclaimer. Be wary of girls who want to bring along a sister, cousin or friends. You'll likely end up with a big bar bill and disappointment.
