Dear all,

I will be arriving to Medellin next week, late at night. I asked this days ago, but nobody responded: anyone knows if at the MDE airport there is any shop selling SIM cards or recargas, open after 11 pm?

I am now struggling with the problem of IMEI registration.
Yes, I RTFF and I have read several posts on this topic. All wanted to help, but I noted some confusion of terms and some contradictions.

I think the only way is to call the service line of an operator, but still I hope that someone here has survived this ordeal and has fresh information and updates to provide.

I would like to understand the following.

1) I always use an old GSM Nokia dualband phone, tried over the years in many countries of Latin America. Maybe bought in Colombia many years ago, maybe somewhere else.
I have a Movistar SIM card, which never expires and I am used to top up on my arrival. Do I have a grace period, or on my arrival this phone will not work if the IMEI is not registered? How many days before being blocked as "stolen"?
Last time I used this phone with this SIM card was last June.

2) Same question for a mobile wifi router (MIFI), which I use with a SIM card with a data plan (Claro, usually).

3) To register, I understand that a passport number is enough. Correct? (a tourist does not have a cedula).

I hope to fix everything online or on phone before travelling. Thanks!

I feel that if something goes wrong she can always leave and you don't have to do the walking.

What's your opinion?

There are 3 options: your place, her place, or a neutral place.

Your place. Depending on where you are staying, your place isn't always an option. Your place might not have a safe place to store your valuables, or might not have any security.

Her place. If she has a place she'll invite you to, in Medellin, she's probably working out of an apartment being used as a casa. Most of the girls do not live in a place where they would be comfortable inviting you, or where you would be comfortable going.

Neutral place. The most common option is a love motel. This will add from 16 k to 100 k to your cost, but might be worth it.

I never meet a girl at my place the first time. I meet in a bar, restaurant, at the metro station, or on the street outside of my place. If anything goes wrong, I can walk away, or hand her taxi money and send her packing.

I was thinking what if you like her on the picture and when you arrive or she arrives, she is not what you expected. Wouldn't be akward to tell her, you not the girl I thought here is some money for taxi and ciao?

Usually upfront girls around the world are an indication of drama queens with history of fighting with clients. And once you give her the money upfront you just removed all her motivation to give you good service, no incentive but only drama so that she can leave earlier.

And I don't like discussing this upfront in the clubs either it just kills the whole mood. Its best to just give her cap money and ask her to get f out before anything. Not every girl but most.

I guess, its like your boss giving you next year salary upfront.

I just go to La Isla and Fase2 to get phone numbers. I have found that if you call them up and they decide to spend the night.

With you instead of going to work then your chances of having a very good time with them has just quadrupled.

Yes much better, what I do now is 90% of the time is to try them out in the club, see how the attitude and chemistry really is, then get their number and follow through for a session when they are off work. My fun factor just about doubles when I practice this.

Just jump in a taxi and tell him to take you to Conejitas. It is across from the square where the Palacio de la Cultura and Parque Berrio station are. From the Palacio diagonally bisect the square. It is across the street from the opposite corner.

You have to pay up front in casas and strip clubs. A potential tip should steer your session in a good direction.

Only suckers pay FLs up front. It's a deal breaker for me.
